SPRING starts this week! I’m so happy that the snow is finally retreating from my backyard and we’ve had a few days above Zero. I can wear my leather jacket again and I’m starting to think about putting away all my gloves and scarves. I’m also looking forward to our heating bill being less in a few months when we can finally turn off the furnace and let the sun warm up our home… ah, those will be the days. And of course, let’s not forget that Sephora just unleashed a huge amount of Spring Beauty Releases recently! I spent hours going through everything new at Sephora and created my Spring Beauty Wishlist last week, and today I’m following up with an Anti-haul of products that for my own personal reasons I will not be purchasing.

Urban Decay Backtalk Eye & Face Palette
While I like the idea of this palette, I feel like I already own all these shades in other palettes. It would be nice to have a palette full of blush, highlight, and eyeshadow but the colour scheme isn’t unique enough for me to need it! To be clear I don’t believe that this palette or any of the products on my anti-haul list are terrible, they’re just not for me.
Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat
I would love to own the Naked Heat palette so when I saw that there was a Naked Petite Heat palette I was excited. Unfortunately I was rather disappointed once I saw that all the shades were mattes. The shades are pretty but these colours are something I would wear for a night out, not for everyday so I would like at least one of these shades to be a shimmer or metallic. I already have an everyday matte palette with similar shades (the Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Palette).
Kat Von D I am Divine Palette
I know if I bought this palette I would be lost on what to do with the colour combination. These shades probably have the potential to create some very beautiful looks together but I don’t think I’m creative enough to make them work!
Too Faced Life’s A Festival Palette
I’m SO not a fan of the packaging of this palette. I saw it in a Madison Miller first impressions video and I’m not loving it. It’s rainbow shaped but it opens from the top instead of the bottom of the rainbow which I think is weird for holding it easily, and the mirror is tiny inside the palette and has a wavy boarder. I expect a full mirror from Too Faced. These shades look pretty but I would rather just buy a single or two of the ones I know I’ll use, because guaranteed I wouldn’t use half of them. I’m also ready to move on from the unicorn trend!
Tom Ford “F*cking Fabulous” Eau De Parfume
I have no idea if this fragrance is meant for men or for women but I’m not going to lie, I laughed when I saw the name of the product. I then nearly choked when I saw how expensive it is. $395CAD!? You’ve got to be kidding me! There are a lot of lovely fragrances that I enjoy that do NOT COST ALMOST FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. That is not fabulous! I wouldn’t buy it for me or for my Significant Other. Hard Pass!
Swipe Up Charcoal Dry Shampoo Hair Blotting Tissues
What is the beauty world coming to!? HAIR blotting tissues? I’m sorry but I’m baffled. I understand face blotting tissues but not hair… Like, use dry shampoo if you need it, who has time to go blot their hair?!
Releases I’m Curious About
To avoid sounding completely negative there are quite a few new releases that I am absolutely buzzing about, you can find some of them in my 2018 Spring Wishlist! Two more products crossed my radar this month that interest me in addition to my wishlist.
Make Up For Ever Star Lit Palette
This palette is SO FREAKIN’ PRETTY! Looking at it makes me feel like I’m floating in a galaxy. I mean, we kind of are, but still… I love that it’s got a mix of mattes, metallics and chrome finishes. It’s been so hard to be good and keep a budget this Spring! This may be in my future soon…
it Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout Full Coverage Treatment Concealer
I always get acne on my chin. It’s the worst, and I feel like putting concealer over my blemishes in the long run makes them worse. This concealer claims to contain “full-coverage pigments to effectively conceal the look of blemishes, acne, redness, and discolourations without creasing or cracking”. Who knows, maybe it could help?
Are you planning on hauling any of these products?
And that wraps up my 2018 Spring Beauty Release Anti-haul! I’m sure I’ll post another one when the seasons change, but for now this is what I will not be purchasing (aside from maybe the last two items).
I want to reiterate that I don’t think these are terrible products, they very well could be amazing. We all have different expectations and makeup collections and for me I’m just not seeing the use of adding them to mine, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t add them to yours if you love the brands, formulas, or colour schemes!
