Hey lovelies!! Today I have another skincare review for you! I got to try out the Bioderma Hydrabio Gel Crème thanks to the Elle Canada Grand Prix. You can read my post here if you want to see what that’s about, but for now let’s move onto my thoughts on this moisturizer.
Bioderma Hydrabio Gel Crème Moisturizer
At A Glance
Bioderma Hydrabio Gel Crème Moisturizer retails for approximately $30CAD for a 1.33 fl oz bottle depending on which store you’re shopping at. It can be purchased at the drugstore or online at Amazon. Hydrabio claims to generate hydration, smooth skin texture and prevent premature ageing.
I love the packaging of this product. It’s simple, but the blue cap matches the stripe down the side, and there’s a pump on the bottle. I’m pretty sure that the contents are somehow vacuum sealed because there isn’t a tube inside for the pump and I’ve noticed the contents are drawn down towards the pump regardless of how it’s sitting on my counter.
As stated in the name, this is a gel moisturizer. If you don’t like gel, you won’t like this. This has a thicker consistency than the Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel moisturizer I love, so it doesn’t spread as nicely as I had hoped. The crème has a slight blue tint and a noticeable fragrance. It’s a little bit strong but dissipates quickly.
This is definitely a “light” moisturizer. When I tried it out in winter for my initial Elle Canada review I really wasn’t all that impressed. I had dry patches on my face at the time and Hydrabio didn’t do much to alleviate those. HOWEVER, I started using it again in June, and it’s been fantastic for summer. No clogged pores, no break outs, and no dry patches currently! It just goes to show that skincare needs definitely change from season to season. My only complaint is that it doesn’t contain SPF, but I can layer on an SPF BB cream or primer.
