Arbonne FC5 Skincare Review

Hello loves, today I have another Arbonne post for you. Specifically, the FC5 skincare line. Arbonne is a company that makes vegan skincare, makeup, and bath/body products which are formulated using natural ingredients. They use a network marketing model, where a consultant will demo the products for you in your home before you make a purchase. I hosted one of these parties, and while I do like some of the products I wasn’t a fan of the sales pitch.
Firstly, the consultant tried to convince us that any product that is not Arbonne (aka from the drugstore) will give us cancer and was very pushy in promoting the products.. I also know that the “personal experiences” she used to sell the products weren’t actually all that personal! I know someone who signed up to be a consultant shortly after, and at her own Arbonne event she used the exact same anecdotes word for word about the products. Take that as you will, but I wasn’t all that impressed!! (As a side note, can we all just take a minute to appreciate that I managed to get a picture of a few products before Ion knocked them all off the table??)

Complexion Revitalizing Set($103CAD)
This set is designed to moisturize dry skin and claims to have preventative anti-aging properties. It contains a cleanser, day lotion, and a night cream. One thing I can say about this set in general is that it has a nice fruity aroma. If it’s going on my face I had better like the smell, so that was a win for me.

Nurturing Day Lotion with SPF20 ($42CAD)
Unfortunately, this was the only item that held up to my expectations. I used this in Hawaii in place of putting sunscreen on my face and reapplied throughout the day. The only part of me that burned was my ears because… I had never considered sunscreening my ears. I have no idea WHY I have never sunscreened my ears before (Have YOU ever put sunscreen on your ears? Am I the one crazy person who never thought to do so??) That aside, this is now my everyday moisturizer and keeps my face hydrated without bothering my sensitive skin. It doesn’t have that SPF smell some products have either! I love the pump to dispense the product, it’s so easy to use and doesn’t leave anything behind.

Hydrating Cleanser and Freshener ($28CAD)
This just didn’t work for me. It’s a lotion designed to remove impurities and it totally clogged my pores. My skin broke out the day after I started using it, and only went back to normal after I had switched to a different cleanser.. This is designed for dry skin so I get why it’s a lotion, but the acne just isn’t worth the hydration. I tossed this out after a few uses, hence I don’t have my own photo. It was just that bad.

Moisturizing Night Crème ($44CAD)
For the price of the product I felt like I should have gotten more out of it. It did last fairly long, but my skin really didn’t feel any different in the morning after sleeping with this on. It has a nice smell and all, but I could easily find a cheaper alternative that works just as well. Meh. Not bad, but not great either.

The next two here are from the FC5 Line, but aren’t part of any set.

Exfoliating New Cell Scrub ($30CAD)
This is one of the products that I got to try before I bought it. The consultant demoed it as a face mask, though when I took a look at the label it’s actually meant to be used as a scrub. If you leave it on for more than 5 minutes it starts to dry and tighten up which is really uncomfortable. I sat for 20 minutes with this on waiting to wash it off as my friends all applied their masks, and it was awful! It’s not a bad product, it’s just maybe not meant to dry on your face?? As a scrub it left my skin feeling clean and fresh.

Intense Hydration Mask ($34CAD)
This is another product for dry skin. It says to leave on for 5 minutes, but I find I only need 2-3 to feel a difference. This is good for those cold dry winter months where your skin is flaking and desperately in need of hydration. My one complaint is that the mask itself has a weird yellow tint.. which makes me think maybe I got an old product off the shelf? It seems to me that my face products shouldn’t be discolored.

MY FC5 RATING : 2.5/5
FAVORITE: Nurturing Day Lotion 4/5
LEAST FAVORITE: Hydrating Cleanser and Freshener 0/5

When I run out of my Day lotion I am unsure if I will reorder. It’s a hassle to have to go through your local Arbonne rep every time you want something and also be required to buy a membership to purchase the products, which lasts two years if I remember correctly. It irks me to be required to buy the privilege to buy something, which is the reason I refuse to shop at Costco, savings be damned!

Have you tried out Arbonne and has it worked out for you?? Share in the comments below, I’d love to hear from you! You can also read about their primer, foundation and bronzer here!

  1. Great blog!! The whole Arbonne purchase process is annoying but I do like their products currently using their mascara which is great but has an off smell which puts me off ha! ❤️Rhi xx

    1. Thanks!! I haven’t tried the mascara yet, I’ll need to check it out the next time I place an order 🙂 Their primer is amazing, it make the annoyance worth it lol

  2. Great post! I’ve only tried one arbonne product in the past… it was an eye cream but I can’t remember which… it was in blue packaging. After I applied it my under eyes felt like they were burning! I don’t even have sensitive skin so it was weird. I tried it a few times before I put it aside and moved onto a Garnier one that I like a lot more!

    1. Oh man that sounds awful! Definitely not what you want in an eye cream. I find their products are very hit and miss, I love their makeup but the skincare ranges can be iffy.
