Julep Maven June 2016 Unboxing

img_20160610_182432.jpg

My Julep beauty box arrived and I’ve been pretty excited for this one. Many of you might already know that Julep recently released a nail polish thinner which I’m looking forward to trying out. My Julep polish is great for about 4 uses before it thickens which isn’t at all ideal for a $14 bottle, so I hope that it can restore my not so old bottles back to a usable consistency.
If you haven’t heard of Julep Maven it’s a monthly nail polish subscription which sends 2-4 nail or beauty products each month. The norm is three nail products or two beauty products (or a combination) but sometimes you get lucky and get an extra item.

Price: $25 per month of $20 per month on a prepaid 3 month subscription
Shipping: Free to the US and Canada
Skipable: YES
Points: Earn Jules for every box you receive
Customizable: YES. This is probably the most customizable subscription that I know of.

Lindsey & Adrian Creme Polishes ($14 each regular, $11.20 Maven)
These are both from the June “Midsummer Light”collection . They’re so summery I couldn’t resist! I have paint on my nails 24/7 and often change it several times a week so I love getting new nail polish colors.

Freedom Polymer Top Coat & Buffer Blocks ($18 & $5 Regular, $14.40 & $4 Maven)
I recently ran out of my 2 in 1 top + base coat so I swapped the beauty item of the month for a top coat and a set of buffer blocks. I was hoping they would have a base coat available this month but alas, no dice. I had space left for buffer blocks or nail decals so I chose the blocks.

Voila! Nail Polish Thinner ($14 regular, $11.20 Maven)
This was a $6.99 add on this month. It comes in a dropper bottle that makes me feel like I’m back sciencing things in high school chemistry class.

Final Thoughts

I paid $26.99USD for this box and the total value came to $65USD for a non member and $52 for a Maven. I will use everything in my box which is something I appreciate about Julep. You can fully customize everything in your box month to month or even skip a box if you just aren’t feeling it.
