Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara Review

Today I finally had to say goodbye to my Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascara. I bought it in February and it finally passed the 6 month mark so it was time to let it go. If you don’t throw out your old mascara it’s definitely something to think about, all kinds of bacteria can gather on the applicator wand and you don’t want to get an eye infection from continued use after the expiry date.

Mascara wasn’t part of my normal routine until the past year when I bought this travel sized tube at Sephora. I still don’t really use it that often but when I want a more natural look without eyeliner this gives my eyes some definition without being overkill.

Pros

  • Wand is easy to use
  • Separates lashes
  • Removes easily with makeup remover
  • Cute packaging

Cons

  • Has no curling power on it’s own. If you don’t have time to use an eyelash curler this probably isn’t for you.
  • The wand bristles are a bit bulky
  • Clumps if you apply too many coats
  • Will transfer to your under eye area pretty quickly if you blink before it dries
  • Smudges easily

I’m still not sure that this is the mascara for me just because the curl factor isn’t there. I like the look of it if I have used an eyelash curler before hand. I have quite a few mascara samples lying around thanks to subscription boxes (I’m looking at you Topbox!) so I’d like to try out a few different products before coming back to this one.

  1. Love this review! Sweet & Simple. I use the CoverGirl Clump Crusher. Just $7 and worth every penny.
