Ipsy October 2016 Glam Bag

I have my October Ipsy glam bag review for you today! The theme this month is Black Magic, which is fitting for the Halloween season. It doesn’t feel like Fall where I am, we had maybe a week of pretty falling leaves and cooler temperatures before the snow started to fall… and fall… and fall…

If you haven’t heard of Ipsy, it’s a monthly beauty subscription service that ships out 4-5 deluxe and full sized products each month.

Price? $10 US. Canada adds $4.95 for shipping.
Value? Glam bags typically average out to around $49US, but this can vary as glam bags are customized. In addition each month comes with a new makeup bag.
Customize? Fill out a profile quiz to get personalized products. If you give Ipsy feedback on your products each month you will have a greater chance of getting something you like next time.
Points? Earn points through referrals and reviewing the products in your glam bag. In addition you get 100 points for joining. Points can be redeemed for an extra item in your next glam bag. You can sign up HERE!

I didn’t receive a theme card this month for some reason but that’s not all that important. The makeup bag this month is Halloween themed and I love it! Look at the little ghosts and bats!

Make up Forever Ultra HD Foundation Sample Size $8.32 CAD
I sampled this foundation from my Topbox sub last month and really liked it. This shade doesn’t quite match my skin, but it’s close so it’s hardly noticeable. I’m debating buying this full sized, but it’s $52 CAD so it will have to wait.

Tre’StiQue Matte Lip Crayon Deluxe Sample Sized $18.39 CAD
I’ve wanted to try Tre’Stique since I started my Ipsy Subscription in January and I finally get the chance! This is similar to the e.l.f matte lip color crayons. I have a shade that almost matches this. I’m looking forward to seeing how they compare.

Pur~lisse Daily Lip Nourisher with Mango and Shea Butter Sample Sized $8.41 CAD
I haven’t disliked anything from Pur~lisse so far. I’ve only used it for a day and it keeps my lips feeling hydrated. Perfect for the change in seasons!

Lottie London Perfectly Precise Eyeshadow Brush Full Sized $7.99 CAD
This pink brush is adorable! It can be used as an eyeshadow or a smudger brush. I’ve already received brushes like this from Ipsy, but a girl can never have too many right?

Essence Superfine Waterproof Eyeliner Pen Full Sized $3.49 CAD
There were so many beautiful eyeliners this month and I got the three dollar one.. The tip is meant to make a super fine line but it looks incredibly hard to work with because of how long the tip is. I drew a line on my hand and it didn’t budge so this may be useful if I can figure out how to work the long tip.

I tried to draw a little bat for Halloween with the essence pen and I failed miserably.

Value: The total value of my glam bag is $46.60 CAD, or $35.48US. This isn’t the best Ipsy bag I’ve received, but you can’t win ’em all. I was thrilled with last month’s glam bag!

What did you receive in your glam bag this month?? Thanks for reading! If you enjoyed this post please click those like & follow buttons, and thank you so much for your support! Remember you can also find me on Instagram  Twitter!

  1. I was so happy about the foundation and the little bottles last more than one or two uses so I’m set for a few weeks still! I hope you love your bag this month! 🙂

  2. Love your little bat, lol! The Essence eyeliner does have a really long tip! Holy. But it looks super pointy so maybe it’s really good. I’m getting the Ciate liner in my bag. I really wanted to try the Kat Von D but I don’t think many people got that one lol.

    1. haha I’m not the most artistic when it comes to drawing things! I haven’t really had a change to use the Essence pen yet, I’m hoping it’s decent. The Ciate liner looked so pretty, it has stars all over it! I haven’t seen anyone with the Kat von D liner, maybe they didn’t send very many out :S

      1. I don’t think they sent many out either. And it’s the main reason I talked myself into resubscribing (didn’t take much convincing, wow…) but I should have known hardly anyone would get it lol.

      2. haha I’ve subscribed and unsubscribed so many times now, I just keep coming back to ipsy! Hopefully you got some other good things in your bag too
