Tartelette Tease Swatches + Thoughts

I’m back! Not that I ever really left, but I was under the weather for a while and now I’m back to my old self. Not that I had a “new” self… expressions are seriously so odd sometimes. I got my hands on the Tartelette Tease palette over the holidays and I can finally use it without worrying about getting sick germs all over it. Yay! Here’s my thoughts…

Packaging: This is a cute palette, albeit small. It fits in the palm of my hand and has a magnetic closure with a mirror inside. The gold around the pans is eye catching and goes with the pink and purple.

Price: Currently this is sitting at $30 (CAD). I am almost certain that it was listed at $25 for a time but I could be wrong. As cute as this palette is $30 is a bit much for six little eyeshadow pans, but it’s Tarte so the quality is there.

Pigment + Shade Selection: The shades are fairly pigmented. The lightest shades Whisper and Wink don’t show us as well as the others, especially on fair skin, but they make a good base for the other shadows. This palette comes with four Mattes (Whisper, Wink, heartbreaker, & bff), a slight shimmer (first kiss), and a glitter (crush). I can make at least four different day time looks with this palette, and since I rarely rock a smokey eye this is all I need. All shades are very wearable, and you have Bff to add some darker tones to your eye look.

I like that the shades are all soft and flirty, it’s exactly what I would expect from a palette with Tease in the name!

Final Thoughts: This palette works for me. It would be a great addition to a makeup travel bag, and perhaps the only palette I would think about taking on vacation because of the quality and small size. It really is a “Teaser” of the other Tarte palettes, a perfect half size of half the eyeshadows for half the price!

Your voice counts: Do you like this looser style of review or do you prefer my usual pros and cons review style?? Let me know! What do you think of the Tartelette Tease palette and what’s your favourite Tarte palette? I’d love to hear from you!

    1. Wonderful, thanks for letting me know! I’m always trying to improve my writing style so feedback is very appreciated ☺ I love my too faced palettes as well, they are slightly more affordable than tarte from what I have seen, I haven’t tried anything from Urban decay though! These mini palettes are nice for getting a feel for the brand without paying the full price. I added you!!!

  1. I love your review! I love this style of getting your thoughts on everything.

I also have this palette and I completely agree with you, the lighter shades don’t show up super well on fair skin but that’s my only complaint. You’re right though it was $25 last year when I got it, that sucks they put the price up as nothing in the palette changed!

    1. Thank you so much for reading and your feedback! 💕 And I’m glad I’m not crazy and someone else remembers it being $25 too! Have you tried any other Tarte palettes? I personally haven’t so I’m wondering how this compares ☺

  2. I mentioned this on Instagram, but wow, your eyes!!! So pretty, Cleia!

Well written review! I’ve enjoyed your pro/con lists in the past! But I think the way you wrote this review is informative enough in your paragraphs that you don’t need the list anyway.

This palette has great colours. Very wearable on any occasion! There’s very similar colours plus more in the tarteist Pro Amazonian clay palette! I’ve been wanting to buy it but I feel like $69 is a lot to spend on makeup I’ll only use sporadically. It’s so tempting though!!

    1. Awe, thank you!! I think the lighting was perfect, normally my eyes appear a duller blue on camera lol Thanks for the feed back on the post style too, I like to change things up a bit sometimes. ☺
Agreed about the palette, I love the colours in this one! That is really expensive for the tarteist palette… But the quality is probably top notch, so probably worth it! And it looks so pretty…
