I recently ran out of a few things so I briefly went shopping on Sunday morning. I’m happy that Shoppers Drug Mart now carries Nyx, its such a great option for those of us who want quality but aren’t willing to dish out Sephora sized price tags!
Nyx Micro Brow Pencil $12
I’ve heard that this is a dupe for the $27 Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz pencil. Let’s be honest, I’d rather use the $15 in price difference to buy coffee! Unfortunately there isn’t a lot of shade selection and I have ambiguous eyebrows that can’t be pinned down. I chose Auburn, which ended up being a few shades too light & orange for me. I should have gone with Chocolate! I have reddish brown hair but I’m a natural blonde with dark eyebrows.
Nyx Concealer Wand $10
I chose Alabaster which is a little bit more pink toned than my skin but in theory makes it perfect for hiding under-eye circles. I will probably go with the shade Porceline next time!
Maybelline Dream Velvet $10
There weren’t any shade testers out at the store unfortunately so I tried to choose by the shade of the bottle (shame on me). This was the lightest shade in stock (and the second lightest of the range), but it’s quite a bit more pink toned than my skin. Luckily, with a light hand and a bit of blending it doesn’t look too obvious that it that the shade isn’t an exact match!
Essence Gel Liner $3.99
My Essence waterproof liner pen finally dried out so I decided to try out a new liner medium. I wanted to see if I liked gel eyeliner before I splurged on anything high end, so here we go with this $3.99 liner! I haven’t used it much yet, but it’s creamy and has so far been workout proof which is awesome! I apply it with a short angled liner brush. Eyeliner can be a drag but this applies easily and sets quick.
