May 2016 Empties

Hey Everyone!  This year I have been doing bi-monthly empties, but I finished a lot of product in May! Some of these things I have been trying to use up for months so I’m really happy to get it up on the blog and out of my cupboards!

Nivea Gentle Toner I enjoyed using this toner quite a lot. It doesn’t burn or sting my skin and was relatively inexpensive! Will I repurchase? Yes!

Fresh Rose Face Mask Anybody recognize this? It’s the mini from last year’s Sephora birthday gift! This felt very refreshing on my face, but it smelled more like wilting roses than living growing flowers to me. Will I repurchase? It’s super expensive for the full size, so no.

OSEA Atmosphere Protection Cream This came from last Summer’s FabFitFun box. It felt very thick on my skin and didn’t apply easily. I eventually had to add some water and shake it up. After that it applied beautifully, but I feel like I shouldn’t have to add water to my products to be able to use them. I always seemed to get more acne when I was using this product. Repurchase? No.

TBS Vanilla Chai Softening Body Lotion This mini was from my The Body Shop Advent calendar in December. I liked the smell, but the lotion itself had a tendency to thicken, so I’d need to add water and shake it to get any out. It was a huge pain! Will I repurchase? No.

TBS Spiced Apple Shower Gel This also came from the TBS advent calendar. It was a spicier scent than I’m used to, but I did enjoy using it. Like the Vanilla Chai, this is a seasonal scent. Repurchase? Probably not.

Dermal Collagen Essence Sheet Masks I bought a ton of these masks from my local K beauty supermarket section. I love ’em! They were $1 each, and are so relaxing! I have so far used up a cucumber and an aloe mask. The aloe is my go to now after a long early morning! Will I repurchase? Heck yes! I’ve already repurchased several.

Tony Moly Panda’s Dream Eye Patch This set of eye patches was only $2! Never again will I buy sephora eye masks for $6. Never! These were a little weird, as the diagram shows that this goes completely over your eye, including your eyelids. There is a little flap for your eyes, but they seem to be just to make it mould over your eyes better. Still, these were just as relaxing and refreshing as the Sephora eye masks! Repurchase? Yep!

Arbonne Makeup Primer Some of you might remember that when I started this blog this primer was my go to. I used it for everything, including as an eye primer. It definitely feels like a silicone primer, and it did a great job at extending my makeup. I just had it for way too long, even when I started using makeup everyday it took months and months to use it up. Will I Repurchase? No, but that’s because I have misgivings about Arbonne’s business model and refuse to purchase a temporary membership to shop.

Nyx HD Studio Concealer I used this up way quicker than I thought I would. It seemed like one day it was full and the next I was struggling to get product on my face! Will I repurchase? No, for reasons outlined in my full review HERE

Estée Lauder Sumptuous Knockout Mascara I haven’t tried many mascaras, but this one is my favourite so far. Honestly, since trying out a few other mascaras I’ve realized that this doesn’t last as long as I’d like it to, but the wand is still my favourite. You can read my review here! Just a note, throw out your mascaras at the 6 month expiry date. I learned the hard way, when I used this for like… 6 months past the expiry date (don’t judge me! ) and I started getting little bumps on my top waterline. I immediately tossed this and the problem went away. Don’t be like me! Repurchase? Yes, once I make it through my six other mini mascaras!

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss This is a great lipgloss. It’s one of the only exceptions to my no lipgloss rule. The colour is sheer, but still noticeable, and it gives a minty tingle to your lips. Read my review HERE! Will I repurchase? Not immediately, but yes!

Sparkle & Shimmer Eyeshadow Quad I have NO idea what the brand of this is, I got it for Christmas. I finally decided to toss it after failing miserably to use it up during my Spring Project Pan. I have so many amazing eyeshadows, there’s no point forcing myself to use one I just don’t enjoy using.

Mint Pear Blending Sponge I received this sponge from Ipsy in December. It worked, but since upgrading to the Sephora Airbrush sponge I know that I won’t look back to this one. It was very stiff and didn’t expand with water at all. Will I repurchase? No.

Chloé Perfume Sample I finally used this one up! I’m definitely not going to rush out and buy it full sized, as the smell is not really “me”, but it was nice enough. I’m glad to have another sample out of the way.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Card Sample I got two uses out of this card sample, one for each powder. I definitely liked the lighter powder better, I think the pink looked weird on me. Will I buy it full sized? No. It didn’t really impress me.

What have you used up this month? Have you tried or want to try any of these products? Thanks for reading everyone!! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. 1. It’s such a good feeling to finally finish up the last of a product you’ve been using forever and getting it out of your collection! I love that. Great post! Those masks look great! Of course the panda one is super cute so I have to try that haha.

    1. Yes it is! I feel so proud of myself Everytime haha. The masks have been a life saver lately, they’ve really helped my skin over the past few weeks when I’ve been working early mornings. And Tony Moly has the cutest masks!
