Hola Lovelies!!

Unfortunately I don’t have an Ipsy review for you this month, I’m taking a bit of a break, but I DO have a Luxe box review today! This is my second time reviewing this box, and I’ve been pretty darn excited for it to arrive. I loved the Spring Box,  so I could only imagine how great the summer box would be!

This month my Luxebox shipped in a slim little box instead of a bag. It fit inside my mail box! Luxebox no longer sends out tracking info or a product card, which personally annoys me. The Spring box arrived on the first of the month, and the Summer box on the twelfth. That’s a pretty big variation in shipping dates for me, I’d like to at least have a heads up of when the box ships.

Cake The Do’ Gooder Dry Shampoo 50ml $4.75
YAY for dry shampoo! I ran out of dry shampoo this spring and haven’t had time to go pick up another bottle. Now I don’t need to. This shampoo claims to be residue free, lightweight, volumizing, and not sticky. Cake Beauty is also cruelty free.

Sweet Suds Co Ice Ice Baby Soap Bar $15.95
I wasn’t actually sure what this was when I first opened the box. I thought it might have been a bubble bar, but I had to search the website to find out what it was. Turns out it is just a soap bar. I think we can all agree that it’s pretty cute though, it’s a popsicle! It contains almond oil, palm oil and coconut oil. It was priced as $12, but I’m pretty sure that’s in USD. There wasn’t really any info on the currency listed…

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb 10ml $5.40
Belif describes itself as a “true herbal cosmetic” brand inspired by Scotland. I’ve never heard of it to be honest, but I know it’s sold on the US sephora website and at The Face Shop. Gel Creams are my favourite type of moisturizers. I find that they apply and absorb really nicely, and are also lightweight. In other words: Perfect for Summer! This smells nice too!

Medusa’s Makeup Witch Lash Mascara FULL SIZED $12USD ($15.89CAD)
This mascara claims to be volumizing and lengthening. Medusa’s makeup is cruelty free AND vegan, so if that’s something that’s important to you this might be a good brand for you. The brush is rubber and has tiny little spikes. I do find that the applicator is kind of flimsy. It bends when I try to apply the mascara so the application is a bit more challenging than with a stiffer wand.

DDM Cosmetics Matte HD Liquid Lipstick FULL SIZED $9.99 (CAD?)
The DDM Lipgloss is the best formula I have ever tried: Non-sticky, with lots of shine and pigment. I was naturally really excited to try this liquid lipstick, but I don’t think it works for me. I love the shade I received, but because this lipstick is matte it dries quickly and accentuates any dryness on my lips. Does anyone else think the packaging resembles Colourpop’s liquid lipsticks?

Trind Caring Color Nail Polish in Sienna FULL SIZE $13CAD
The first thing I noticed about this polish was how interesting the bottle looks! I’ve never heard of this brand before, but the website claims it’s big in Europe. The polish was manufactured in the Netherlands, which makes me happy as I’m half Dutch. This is a really pretty color, I’m looking forward to wearing it on my nails this summer!

Manna Kadar Paradise Blush Full Sized ~$25CAD
UGH. Go AWAY Manna Kadar. Or at least stop sending out the exact same product in every single beauty sub there is. I actually really love this blush as an eyeshadow, but I already have a full size from my Ipsy subscription. This is my second Manna Kadar duplicate this spring.

Avry Beauty Jelly Spa Bath ~$5
I couldn’t really find any pricing info on this. These little packs are meant for a little foot soaker bath, which is something that I don’t have. I guess I could use a big mixing bowl or something haha! Apparently you add the first pack to the foot bath, which turns the water into jelly! When you are ready to stop soaking you add the second pack which dilutes the Jelly back into water. I’m so curious about this now!

Final Thoughts: My box totalled approximately $95CAD. It’s hard to be absolutely certain as to what the final total is when I’m constantly converting between USD and CAD, but $95 is a good estimate. I am happy with the box this month, even when I consider that I won’t use the Manna Kadar Blush. I definitely liked the Spring box more though!

  1. I love that Manna Kadar blush. I got it in my Ipsy bag and love the color. It is not a color I would have bought on my own so I am happy to have had the chance to get it. Still, I don’t need 2 so that would be a bummer.

    1. I loved it when I got it from ipsy too! I just find it’s a brand that sends out the same products over and over again in different boxes 😕 The one blush will last me a long time so I definitely didn’t need two haha. Maybe I’ll give it to a friend 😅

  2. It’s a pretty good box! I kind of miss getting it but then I always have to remind myself that I almost always gets duplicates from Topbox so I don’t really neeeed this one, lol. The Belif gel cream looks really awesome and I think that popsicle soap is sooo cute!

    1. I’ve been really impressed with luxe box! And $26 isn’t bad for a quarterly box, especially when they have so many products I never would have thought to try on my own. But you’re right, it’s definitely one or the other with Topbox and Luxebox. Seriously, that popsicle soap is adorable 😆
