Clinique Almost Lipstick Review

Hey again loves!

  1. The last time I ordered from Sephora I picked out the Clinique Almost Lipstick in the shade Black Honey. This is known in the beauty world as a cult classic, though to be honest it hasn’t been on my radar for very long. I was torn by the $21 price tag, that’s the most I have ever spent on a lipstick, and I wasn’t sure if it was worth it. Sephora’s return policy is awesome, so I figured I’d give it a go and I could always return it if I needed to.

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous. I love having this in my purse just to look at! It’s simplistic and yet conveys a sense of sophistication. Actually, even the cardboard packaging that Clinique uses is gorgeous. I knew going in that this lipstick was going to apply sheer. Despite the shade name, you won’t get a deep dark lipstick application with Almost Lipstick. It has a berry toned sheen to it, but it won’t drastically alter your lip colour. I might have been turned off if I didn’t know this going in.

As with any glossy/sheer lipstick, this doesn’t last a particularly long time. I need to reapply every hour or two, but honestly that doesn’t really bother me. It’s hard to mess up the application when it’s almost a tinted lip balm. The only thing that truly bothered me about this lipstick was that I had to use a lip scrub before applying. It has a tendency to cake around dry spots instead of smoothing them out.

I kept my purchase, and it’s become my daily work lipstick for Summer!
Have YOU tried Clinique Almost Lipstick? Thanks so much for reading guys! Remember to like and follow if you haven’t already. PS, I’ve got a new blog design, please take a look and let me know what you think!

    1. Thanks for reading! 🙂
I think you’d like it! Especially since you have said in your posts that you don’t like to experiment too much with lip colours, this one is really subtle!

You probably have duplicate comments from me, I think I tried to repost a few when it didn’t work the first time. 😆
