Empties June 2017

Hey Lovelies, I have another empties post for you guys this month! Wow, I’m so pleased with myself that I’ve actually been emptying out my shelves lately. I’ve decided to try to stay away from shopping and beauty boxes for a while until I can clear some space in my shelves, the past few weeks I’ve felt overwhelmed by consumerism and how adds are always right in my face! I need to slow it down for a while and appreciate the things I have. With that said, lets get to the empties!

Simple Cleaning Wipes This is a repeat product for me, I’ve bought it several times since initially discovering these wipes last fall. They do the job well, and I really love them for 4am shifts when I just don’t feel like splashing cold water on my face in the morning. Repurchase? Yes.

Fox Animal Aqua Relax Face Mask I bought this on a whim at my local asian grocery market. It’s coloured like a Fox! I love it, but I made sure I used it when I was alone so Mike wouldn’t laugh at me.  Repurchase? Maybe. This mask was so fun, but I didn’t really notice an improvement in my skin condition. It was relaxing to use though.

Peter Roth Cucumber Gel Mask This is a one time use sample I got from Sephora. I really liked it! It’s cooling and soothing. Repurchase? Maybe. It’s expensive for a full size, given it’s from Sephora and all.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser I finished off this little deluxe sample from the Sephora birthday gift last year. I love this cleaner, I just wish it wasn’t so darn expensive! Repurchase? Maybe. It’s great, but also expensive as far as cleansers go.

Skin & Co Roma Truffle Face Toner This came in my Ipsy bag a month or two ago. It was a really nice toner! It smelled nice and left my skin feeling clean but not tight. Repurchase? Maybe. This is a cruelty free toner which is awesome, but it’s $27 plus shipping.

e.l.f. Soothing Lip Balm This lip balm is AWESOME. My problem is, e.l.f. doesn’t make it any more!! *Cries* If I could repurchase I would!

The Body Shop Grapefruit Hand Cream Ion got his teeth into this briefly. If I leave my purse open by accident he will dig through it looking for granola bars. He apparently got a hold of this, so I had to wrap it in duct tape to keep the lotion from seeping out! This was very moisturizing, but also very fragrant. I love fragrance, but if you are sensitive to smells this is probably not for you. Repurchase? Once I finish all my other hand creams, yes.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream This is my new Holy Grail Moisturizer. It completely fixed all of the dry patches on my skin this winter. My skin has never felt so smooth! You can read my review here. Repurchase? YES.

Soft & Dri Deodorant Spray Spray deodorants are new to me. I used to buy stick deodorants and I found that I would sweat a lot more with them as opposed to gel and now spray formulas. This one in particular didn’t really work for me. I used up the whole can, but the smell was rather off putting. It also didn’t really offer any extra protection from sweating as the label claimed. Repurchase? NOPE.

Bath & Body Works Twisted Peppermint Body Wash In an attempt to use up my bath product shelves, I am now using fragrances out of seasons. *GASP*, the horror! Now that I’m finished this bottle I will officially move on to my summer fragrances. Repurchase? Maybe not this exact fragrance, as I always like to try new things, but I will purchase from B&BW again.

Gorge* I’ll Make You Look Amazing Daily Spray What a mouthful! I received this from Topbox last summer, so it’s about time I finished the bottle! It smells nice, but I didn’t feel it really added anything to my hair style or texture. I’m very low maintenance with my hair, so maybe this is a It’s not you, it’s me situation. Repurchase? No.

e.l.f. High Definition Under Eye Setting Powder I never really had much cause to use this until I switched to a cream based concealer palette. Using liquid concealers I never really felt the need to set my under eye area, but cream creases like mad on me. This noticeably helps with the creasing. Repurchase? Eventually yes, once I finish my other setting powders.

Have you used any of these products? As always, thanks for reading! 1. You did great this month for empties! When I saw the Soft & Dri in the picture, I was really curious about your review! I didn’t have good luck with the stick version either.

That fox mask is too cute! That’s too bad about the elf lip balm not being made anymore. That’s so frustrating when you find a product that you love and then they discontinue it!!

The PTR cucumber mask is so nice. I remember I didn’t think it did much but I didn’t have dry skin when I first used it. Then I had some dry patches, so I used the mask, and they were instantly gone when I washed away the mask – and they stayed gone! I ended up buying a PTR value set last winter just because of the mask haha.

    1. I really wasn’t a fan of the Soft & dri. It didn’t really perform any better than non “clinical” deodorants that I’ve tried. I really like the degree spray we got in the Unilever box last fall though!

The fox mask is so adorable! I think it was only $4 or something like that too, so super affordable. Grrrr, I know! It was a really great lip balm!

I just wish the PTR mask wasn’t $64! That’s really awesome that it helped with your dry patches! Dry spots are the worst, I always go through lots of trial and error to correct them.

  2. I absolutely love the Soy Fresh Face Cleanser. I got samples at Christmas but, like you, I just refuse to pay that much for a cleanser. I also love the Twisted Peppermint body lotion. It is my December scent.

    1. haha I’m glad it’s not just me! I read haul posts all the time and I can’t believe how much some people will spend!
It’s such a great Christmas-y scent, I also love the winter candy apple scent!

    1. It worked incredibly well for me! I always had dry patches, and this is the first thing that corrected them for me. There are a couple different formulations so you can choose what works best for your skin, I use the extra-dry skin gel cream, but there is also a regular gel cream and a water gel (I think for oily skin). If you do try it out let me know what you think! xx

  3. I get you on the whole using BBW fragrances out of season, but Twisted Peppermint is one of my faves. I still have a bottle sitting at my desk at work. If you want to pick one up that’s “in season” try the At the Beach. Summer in a bottle!
