Bioderma Hydrabio Moisturizing Light Cream

Hey lovelies!! Today I have another skincare review for you! I got to try out the Bioderma Hydrabio Gel Creme thanks to Elle Canada Grand Prix. You can read my post here if you want to see what that’s about, but for now let’s move onto my thoughts on this moisturizer.

Packaging I reeeaaally like the packaging of this product. It’s simple, but the blue cap matches the stripe down the side, and there’s a pump on the bottle. I’m pretty sure that the contents are somehow vacuum sealed because there isn’t a tube inside for the pump and I’ve noticed the contents are drawn down towards the pump regardless of how it’s sitting on my counter.

Product Claims Bioderma claims that it “generates hydration” with Vitamin PP & Apple Seed Extract, “Smoothes Skin Texture”, and “prevents […] premature aging”

Formula As stated in the name, this is a gel moisturizer. If you don’t like gel, you won’t like this. This has a thicker consistency than the Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel moisturizer I love, so it doesn’t spread as nicely as I had hoped. The cream has a slight blue tint and has a noticeable fragrance. It’s a little bit strong but dissipates quickly, like within three minutes.

Thoughts This is definitely a “light” moisturizer. When I tried it out in winter for my initial Elle Canada review I really wasn’t all that impressed. I had dry patches on my face at the time and Hydrabio didn’t do much to alleviate those. HOWEVER, I started using it again in June, and it’s been fantastic for summer. No clogged pores, no break outs, and no dry patches currently! It just goes to show that skincare needs definitely change from season to season. My only complaint is that it doesn’t contain SPF, but I can layer on an SPF BB cream or primer.

What’s your fav summer moisturizer!? Let me know in the comments! Thanks so much for reading! If you enjoyed this post please give it a like and follow this blog to keep up with me! Remember you can also find me on Instagram!

  1. It’s so true that we need different products depending on the season! Especially with us Canadians and our harsh winters! XD I’m glad it works for you now in the summer! I’ve tried a different moisturizer from this line and it really was perfect for summer because it was so light!

    1. It’s like night and day between our summer and winter, Minus 20-30 all winter and high +20s all this season. I love summer though! I’m glad this worked for me, I’m so used to buying products for extra dry skin. I’m curious to try out the rest of the hydrabio line now!
