August 2017 Empties

Wow it’s September first! How did that happen!? I’ve been trying to hold onto Summer for as long as I can, but the grains of time just slip through my fingers… on the bright side, Mike is one month closer to finishing school, and we leave for Peru in just under two months! I’ve been waiting almost three years for this! Still, I had hoped the seasons would feel longer this year.

How are you guys doing? Did summer feel too long, too short, or just right? Are you ready for Fall!? Let me know! Now, onto today’s post. I have empties to share with you!

Hair + Bath & Body

Aromance Citrus Blossom Body Spray I FINALLY finished this! YAY! I think I got this bottle as part of a gift set for Christmas once upon a time. It smells fresh, but citrus isn’t my favourite. Repurchase? No, I prefer my B&BW Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Mist.

B&BW True Blue Spa Shea Cashmere Hand Scrub This also took me a long time to use up. I kept forgetting that I had it so I finally had to put it next to the sink in my bathroom so I’d remember to use it! It smells really nice and left my hands soft and moisturized. Repurchase? No, but only because I want to pick up the B&BW 60 Second Manicure Scrub instead!

Cake Beauty The Do’ Gooder Dry Shampoo I only got three or four uses out of this bottle. I liked that it wasn’t heavily fragranced and it did a good job of refreshing two day or post workout hair. Repurchase? Yes, if I ever decide to do a cake beauty haul. I will probably wait until I need more than one product restocked.

Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Colorseal Conditioner I started dying my hair myself because I couldn’t afford $70 at the salon every time I got my roots done. I really like Clairol hair dye. It’s easy to match to your desired shade and is also user friendly. The full hair kit comes with a tube of conditioner meant to help your colour stay. Repurchase? Yes, next time I need a full hair dye kit.

Skincare

Fresh Rose Face Mask Does anybody else have a hard time getting round products to sit properly for a flatlay!? This one gave me so much trouble! finished my second mini of this face mask this week. To be honest I didn’t really notice a difference in my skin, but the process was relaxing. Repurchase? No.

Tarte Deep Dive Cleansing Gel I wasn’t a fan of this one. I thought it smelled a little strange and it didn’t do a great job at removing makeup. It also made my face feel slippery. Repurchase? Nope

Skyn Iceland Icelandic Relief Eye Cream I don’t think it’s a bad product, but it didn’t work for me. You can read my review here if you’re interested! I committed myself to finishing this but it started to smell funny after a couple months. I was close though! Repurchase? No.

Bioderma Hydrabio Gel Crème I recently reviewed this here so I won’t bore you guys. I really enjoyed this moisturizer for Summer. Repurchase? Yes, next time summer rolls around!

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA The Ordinary is everywhere this year! Their products are known for being effective yet highly affordable. This moisturizer retails at $5.80 for 1oz. I enjoyed it, but I think I still prefer my gel moisturizers. Repurchase? I’m not sure. If I’m tight on money next time I run out of moisturizer I can see myself repurchasing.

Foil Samples + Sheet Masks

Dermal Green Tea Collagen Essence + Secret Key Tea Tree Sheet Masks I’m a repeat user of the Dermal collagen essence masks. I was planning on saving the Tea Tree mask until I had a break out, but when I was sick last week my face was red and gross and I wanted something something pampering and soothing. I couldn’t tell if it made a difference in my skin to be honest :S

Peter Thomas Roth Camu Camu Serum I got this foil as a sample from Sephora. It didn’t smell the greatest, but it absorbed quickly. This is meant to be a brightening serum, so it’s not really targeted towards my skin type. Repurchase? No, but I do love other PTR products!

Urban Decay Primer Potion I received a sample of Urban Decay Primer potion last winter and it lasted me until now with almost daily use. A little goes a long way. I love this primer! Repurchase? Done and done, in my last Sephora Haul!

Luxie 524T Brush Normally I wouldn’t include a brush as an “empty”, but this is a special circumstance. If you look closely in the picture you’ll notice that the bristles in one spot are poking out further than the others. The brush hairs started falling out randomly after washing one day and has since become unusable. I’m wondering if any of you guys have had this experience with Luxie brushes? I just find it so strange! Repurchase? Not this brush.

Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner Pen This is a nice little drugstore eyeliner, but as most felt tipped eyeliner pens do, the top got clogged/dried up with eyeshadow. After a while I had to call it quits and change it out. Repurchase? Probably not. Despite the name I didn’t actually find this pen very “precise”, and although it’s still a good eyeliner I love to try new things instead of always buying the same ones!

Illamasqua Precision Ink This eyeliner is fantastic. I got it from Ipsy last year and had a hard time letting go. I technically should have thrown this out a few months ago, but I loved it so much that even when the handle cracked I kept it. The applicator is precise, easy to use, and the liner stays all day. It’s actually quite hard to get off! Repurchase? Yes, if I can get free shipping.

The Body Shop Camomile gentle eye makeup remover This makeup remover was okay, but I highly recommend getting the waterproof version after reading Tigritsa’s Comparison Review of the two! Repurchase? If I do, it will be the Waterproof Camomile Makeup Remover.

  1. The Rose face mask gets a lot of bad reviews. I wanted to try it but was hesitant due to the price. I think after your post I will just put the thought of buying it out of my head. Thanks for saving me some cash!

  2. The Fresh rose mask didn’t do much for my skin either! I agree that it was relaxing at least and I think my skin looked a little more toned? But not anything special enough to warrant that price!!

For my flat lays, I started using tape to make the roll-y guys stick! XD It works great!!

That’s so weird about your Luxie brush! I haven’t had any problems with their brushes shedding like that after washing. You could have got a dud or maybe that brush in particular has issues with shedding.

The Illamasqua eyeliner sounds lovely! I love when we get expensive brands in sub boxes because I’d never go out and buy it myself haha.

I’m glad my review was so helpful for the makeup remover. I hope you enjoy the waterproof version! It’s much better at removing makeup, for sure!

    1. It’s so expensive!! The mini mask is $30, it’s just not worth it!

😱I never thought to do that, that’s brilliant! You just changed my life!! That’s why the rose mask was awkwardly on it’s side in my picture 😆😆

I thought it was odd too, I only have one other Luxie brush and it’s fine :S

I really enjoyed using it! I’m happy I can open up a new eyeliner from my stash, but I was sad to see it go. I never would have bought it on my own so getting a full size in a sub box is great 😊

It definitely was helpful, I wouldn’t have thought to try the other version if you hadn’t told me how good it was!

      1. Hahaha I’m glad I could help out with the tape tip! At first I was struggling too and thought I needed to go out and buy some sort of sticky clay or something. XD Then I thought, why not just use tape?!
