Accidental ColourPop HAUL

This isn’t the haul I expected to be posting today. I had written out my intended haul and was waiting on the box to arrive so I could take photos and share it with you, but there was a bit of a mix up. I walked over to the post office last Thursday to collect my ColourPop Package and pay the customs fee due. In total I paid $12.12CAD in customs for a $34 packages. I was already a little miffed that Canadian Customs said I owed for such a small order, but I knew going in that ColourPop often gets flagged for duties & fees.

I went home and excitedly opened my box expecting to see the No Filter Concealer & My Little Pony Eyeshadow palette that I ordered… and the box contained some one else’s order. I don’t know how that mix up happened. The outside of the box had the correct amount of items and cost associated with my order, but inside was a shipping notice to a girl in Hong Kong!

ColourPop’s Customer Service

I was frustrated and reached out to ColourPop about the order and received an almost instantaneous email response. They assured me that I could keep the extra products and that they would send out my order a second time asap. They didn’t ask for photos of the box contents I received, which was good on them for making this process hassle free for me. I’m annoyed that I’m going to have to pay customs a second time once my real order arrives (assuming they don’t mix it up again!), but at least the value of the extra items outweighs the customs charge. The total of this order adds up to $76USD. Let’s check out my “freebies”.

Fem Rosa SHE Eyeshadow Palette

“It’s coming up roses in soft mauve tones and buttery metallic finishes. Romantic shades make it easy to transition from sweet damsel to femme fatale.”

The Fem Rosa SHE palette is a ColourPop collaboration with Karrueche. The palette contains  12 x 0.85g eyeshadows in the rose toned family in a mix of matte, metallic & satin finishes. The SHE palette retails for $16USD. ColourPop products are leaping bunny certified (cruelty free).

To be honest I don’t really know anything about Karrueche. According to Wikipedia (reputable source, I know) she’s an American actress and model. I don’t really care to research her further, but the SHE palette is quite beautiful. I actually debated purchasing it instead of the MLP palette. I’ve been really feeling peachy pink eyeshadows lately (the Too Faced Peachy Matte palette just might be my new holy grail) so this fits right in with my current mindset.

I’ll post a full review with swatches of this palette once I’ve had time to play with it!

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow

ColourPop Super Shock Shadows

Our revolutionary creme-powder eyeshadow, famous for it’s unique bouncy texture, delivers bold colour & fine glitter in one swipe without creasing, fading or fallout.

ColourPop Super Shock eyeshadows come in a pot with a screw on lid. They are available in glitter, ultra-glitter, metallic, ultra-metallic, satin, pearlized, and matte finishes. A 2.1g pot of Super Shock shadows retails for $5USD.

I received a ton of super shock shadows!! Ten in total. This wasn’t a product that I was overly interested in trying out, as I’ve heard you need to apply them with your finger instead of a brush and that seems like a lot of effort to me, but the shade selection I received is really nice and goes along with the shades in the SHE palette.

I received four mattes, one satin, one pearlized, three ultra-glitter, and one ultra-metallic.

Lippie Stix Primer

Lippie Stix Primer

“Our Lippie Primer enhances the wear of any lip product and keeps your lips looking and feeling healthy! Smudge-proof & anti-feathering, it fills in fine lines for a smooth application and longer wear time”

As the description says, ColourPop Lippie Stix Primer helps to fill in lines and extend the wear time of lipstick. It retails for $5USD.

I received two of the same lip primer. I wore one with my vibrant pink lippie stix in the shade Glam Bag. I don’t have a lot of experience with the formula yet, but the lipstick seemed to wear longer with the primer underneath it. It applies clear like a lip balm. I’ve never used a lip primer before, so I’m going to try it out with a few other lipstick formulas that I’m familiar with to see how they wear. Review to come!

For You

I’m starting to get close to 1000 followers on WordPress and I’ve been thinking about hosting a giveaway for a while. My blog doesn’t get enough traffic to justify monetization so any products I would like to include will be purchased with money I’ve earned from my day job. Money has been really tight for the past few years while my husband was in school so it won’t be necessarily an “epic” giveaway, but I’d love to do something for all you amazing people who read, comment, and interact with my blog!

l’ll include some of these super shock eyeshadows (that I DIDN’T swatch), as well as one of the lippie stix primers and a few other goodies that I’ve hand picked. Stay tuned for January!

Have you ever received the wrong order in the mail and what type of products would you like to see in my giveaway!?

Thank you for reading! If you enjoyed this post please remember to like, subscribe, and sign up for email notification when a new post goes live. Please share this post to help me get to my next follower milestone so my giveaway can be put in motion!

    1. I was so impressed with how quickly they replied! I wrote a grumpy Instagram post then immediately had to update how great cs was. It also was a real person replying to me, not an automated response 😁
Thanks Angela!! I hope so too 😊

  1. I still think that’s crazy this happened! I don’t know how an order destined for Hong Kong gets mixed up like that lol. But you really lucked out in the end! It’s too bad you have to wait a bit longer for your original order but these goodies will tide you over! The She palette looks so pretty. I want pretty much all their palettes but this colour scheme definitely speaks to me!

Congrats on almost 1000! Your blog is so great, I’m not surprised how many followers you have!

    1. Right!? How do shipping labels get mixed up like that!? I was floored by how quickly customer service helped me out, I won’t hesitate to order in the future now ☺
It’s really pretty! I’ve been trying out different halo eye looks, the palette works really well for it! I just saw the Kathleen lights dream st palette release from Colourpop, I want it so bad 😣

Thank you! 😊 I know I’m not a giant well known blogger but I never thought I’d make it to 1000 last year!

  2. The amount of the wrong order trumps the shipping costs. You could’ve been asked to ship back the wrong order and what not, but instead you god a very nice response and even got to keep the „extra“ products (and that is a company/business move for applause).
Have a good start of the week,

  3. At least they sorted it out quickly! And nice of them to let you keep it no questions asked – did you ask about customs fee? My friend was on holiday in the US and colourpop messed up delivering her order to the hotel so they sent it to the UK With the declaration that made it a custom free amount!
I’ve been debating getting the she palette as I’ve loved Yes please so much! Look forward to seeing what you think

    1. Yes I was impressed! I was surprised they didn’t require a photo of the order or something. I mentioned about the customs fee but they didn’t offer to help in that respect. The fee was small, only $12CAD so I don’t have too much to complain about. That’s awesome that they helped your friend out though!

The Yes Please palette looks so beautiful! I love all the yellow and gold tones in it. The She palette is really pretty, the formula has impressed me so far. I’m normally not one for metallic shades but they’re all so wearable paired with the mattes in the palette 🙂
      Thanks for reading Rachael!

  4. I’ve always had good experiences with Colourpop’s support team and I’m glad you had the same experience! I’ve ordered so much stuff from Amazon over the years that they’ve occasionally sent me the wrong stuff. They did the same thing that Colourpop did; sent me the right stuff and let me keep whatever it is that I received.
Congrats on being so close to 1000 subscribers! Love reading your blog, and looking forward to the giveaway!

    1. I feel like that’s what a company should do, fix it with as little hassle to the consumer as possible. It’s not our fault if we get sent the wrong thing! Good on Amazon for fixing your orders as well ☺

Thank you! I think I’m ten away from 1000 I’m so excited! I’ve started thinking about what products to include 😊

  5. I’ve never had that happen, but it’s nice to hear how smoothly Colourpop handled the issue. I actually have an order on the way (including KathleenLights Dream St. Palette–can’t wait!). I have to say, I’m impressed with the coordination whoever actually purchased this order put into the color selection. Congrats on reaching close to 1000 followers! 🙂

    1. I was really impressed, some companies just don’t care but Colourpop made things right immediately.
YEESS the Kathleen lights palette! Please let me know your thoughts on it, it looks so pretty!
Haha it’s true, all the shades went together really well! I don’t think I would have done such a great job selecting individual eyeshadows
