2018 February Empties

2018 February EmptiesHey everyone, welcome back for my 2018 February Empties post! I was debating whether or not to write my empties now or wait until the end of March, but in the end I wanted all these bottles gone from my cupboard. I’ve been thinking about moving to seasonal empties instead of monthly or bi-monthly like I did with my favourites posts. What do you guys think? Monthly or seasonal?

2018 February Empties - Hair & Body

Hair & Body Care Empties

Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noël Shower Gel
I’ve been working on this bottle for two years. Vanilla Bean Noël isn’t one of my favourite scents from TBS. I much prefer Winter Candy Apple so I often reached for that scent first. I made myself finish this bottle and man am I happy to recycle it! Repurchase? No.

Bath & Body Works True Blue Spa Super Softening Body Lotion
I featured this hand cream from Bath & Body Works in my Top 3 Hand Creams for Fall & Winter post last year! This hand cream is ultra moisturizing. I felt like this bottle lasted forever! Repurchase? No, I have so many other hand creams to finish right now. I did enjoy it though!

Batiste Dry Shampoo
I am a repeat purchaser of Batiste shampoo. I took the Batiste Mini to Peru and will be buying another to take to Panama in May. I will absolutely be repurchasing BUT I won’t be buying the Brunette version of the full size. It doesn’t match my current hair colour and the regular version works just fine.

2018 February Empties - Skincare

Skincare Empties

GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment
I received this little sample in my September Topbox last year. It’s very tingly so I don’t know that I would recommend it on sensitive skin but it left my face super soft! Repurchase? If it went on sale I would. Otherwise, No. GlamGlow is expensive!

L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream
I received a pot of this anti-aging cream in the L’Occitane 2017 Luxury Beauty Advent Calendar. This cream hasgreat reviews and is supposed to be amazing for minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines but the smell was just too much for me. I find it hard to use products that don’t smell nice! Repurchase? No.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme
I got to test this moisturizer as a Juror for the Elle Canada Grand Prix last year. I enjoyed it at the time, but I think I held onto the bottle for too long because I started getting strange acne that scarred immediately and was impossible to extract. I stopped getting new spots after I discontinued using this face cream. It’s ultra hydrating but it definitely has a shelf life. Repurchase? Maybe the Mini.

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser
This cleanser is one of the least expensive at sephora. This 2 oz travel size retails for $12 so I could actually justify the purchase. I hate to say it but I regret purchasing this cleanser. It smells soapy, left my skin feeling tight, and my dry patches returned while using this. Repurchase? No.

2018 February Empties - Makeup & Nailcare

Makeup & Nailcare Empties

Ciaté London Bamboo Bronzer
I received this bronzer mini in my 2017 April Ipsy Glam Bag. It was also in my spring project pan, and it took me until now to use up. I enjoyed this bronzer but I’m currently exploring more affordable options from ColourPop and the drugstore so I won’t be repurchasing.

Ciaté London Geology Top Coat
What are the odds that I finish two Ciaté products in the same month!? I received this top coat from Ipsy at the end of 2016 I believe. It was great for the first few uses but it quickly became thick and hard to use. Repurchase? No.

2018 February Empties

Have you tried any of these products?

This concludes my February Empties! Please let me know if you guys would like to see me post empties on a monthly or seasonal basis. I’m learning towards seasonal but I’m open to suggestions 🙂

I really want to try Glam Glow but like you said, it’s very expensive 😔 maybe one day in the future 😊

I don’t think I’ve ever outright bought any glamglow, I’ve just gotten these minis in subscriptions or value sets! It’s way too expensive otherwise 🙁

I’m impressed that you managed to finish this many products in only one month that’s nearly impossible for me even when I really try lol. Nicely done!!

Most of them I had been using for a long time, I just coincidentally happened to finish them all in the same month 😂

Nice empties! I’ve decided to nix empties from my blog completely, and I see that you are thinking of making some sort of change too. I think empties posts can be great, but I just use so many of the same things and I think it’s stupid of me to talk about the same products over and over lol.
I’m also not so sure about the tinted Batiste. I bought the light brown version because I was worried the dark brown was going to be too dark, but ultimately I don’t think any of them will ever match. So I might as well get the fun scented ones lol. It dissolves in regardless if you really work it in.

I’ve been moving away from the more “traditional” posts that most bloggers start with, like favourites and empties. It’s hard to stand out when everyone is writing the same things lol
That’s fair, especially if you already have the same HG products that your purchase every month!
I don’t think I would be able to find a perfect match. I found I noticed the dark brown tint more than the regular white formula, and If I’m brushing it out anyways the tint shouldn’t be noticeable. I really want to try the coconut/tropical scent!

Nice empties post, you finished a good amount of products this month!

Oooh, I don’t like that Vanilla Bean Noel scent either. Like it sounds like it would be delicious, but it’s not. The Winter Candy Apple scent is the best! Talking about it makes me miss Christmas, haha.

It’s too bad you didn’t like the L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream – I’ve heard good things about it, but it’s expensive so I guess you’re better off!

Question for you: how dark is the brunette Batiste dry shampoo? I know your hair colour has kind of faded since you last died it, but I figured it was still dark enough to use the brunette version. I have dark hair, and the #1 reason why I hate using dry shampoo is the white powder!

Thanks! It always sneaks up on me how fast I full my empties bag lol

It wasn’t bad or anything, but I wish the smell was nicer!

It worked a lot better when I first dyed my hair brown a year ago. With the purple it doesn’t reaaally match so for me it’s not worth it. If you remember when I posted my rogue inspired hair in October it matched pretty well aside from the highlights https://alwayscleia.com/new-hair-inspired-by-x-men-rogue/

Too bad about the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser not working out. I have a sample of it somewhere…
So funny that you finished up 2 Ciaté products and they weren’t both nail polish!

I was really disappointed, my skin is just so high maintenance that almost any product will dry it out 🙁
      What are the chances right!?

I like the batiste dry shampoo i’ve repurchased a couple of times. I’ve heard so much about embryolisse moisturizer. I think it has mineral oil in it so i’ve Stayed away from it even though it’s raved about in the makeup community as a step before makeup.

I’ve tried brands from sephora and Batiste is just as good, there’s no need to buy high end dry shampoo! I hadn’t heard that about Embryolisee having mineral oil, I’ll need to look into that. That’s no good if it does!

BBW True Blue Spa got me through my years working in the restaurant biz. SO moisturizing! And I actually hate hand cream. I also love Glamglow but agree it is SO expensive! You had some great finishes beauty! <3

True Blue Spa is one of my favourite skincare lines! I love their 60 second manicure scrub 🙂
I wish glamglow was a little bit more affordable!
Thanks for reading! I’ve got to catch up on reading your blog this week xx

If I did an empties post, every month would have 30 mask packs!

I had to stop featuring sheet masks in my empties for that exact reason!

Hi Phoebe, It’s nice to meet you! Thank you so much for stopping by 🙂
Unfortunately I don’t have a facebook for my blog right now. I’ve been keeping my blog quiet from friends and family until I’m ready to share it so I haven’t moved over to facebook just yet. I probably will soon!
I followed you on wordpress though and am happy to support you in your blogging journey xx
