Can you believe it’s 2018 already? 2017 had it’s ups and downs, but I’m finally feeling like I’m in a good place. My husband started his new job after a long and arduous career change so every month is now quadruple payday month (YAY!).
I lived in pyjamas all December and pulled out my winter boots, my coziest socks, and sat down to open my L’Occitane Luxury Beauty Advent calendar every day.

L’Occitane Luxury Beauty Advent Calendar
The packaging of this calendar is fantastic! I love the little ribbon at the top that unties to open the calendar. There are 24 little boxes that pull out to reveal a gift for each day leading up until Christmas. After opening each day I put the box in backwards to reveal part of an image that will make a Christmas tree picture once the calendar has been completely opened.
Day 1: Verveine Eau de Toilette
The gift in each box is wrapped in tissue paper so it feels like I’m unwrapping a gift each day. I was thrilled to see that the first box contained a perfume! This fragrance reminds me of the Bath & Body Works Rainkissed Leaves scent. It smells very fresh and not at all floral. It’s a welcome addition to the (very) small part of my shelf designated for fragrance.
Day 2: Ultra Rich Shower Cream
I thought this was hand cream at first and applied it all over my hands. The joke was on me because this is a shower cream! I used it correctly later that day. The scent is soapy, it doesn’t smell like anything else. I found that it stripped my skin more than the The Body Shop shower creams so I was mildly disappointed in this product. It will make a good addition to my travel bag.
Day 3: Immortelle Divine Youth Oil
I sampled a foil of this oil from Sephora once, but we all know how hard it is to get a feel for a product from a foil sample. This face oil retails for $114USD for 1oz. Crazy! I’m curious if I’ll notice a difference in my skin from using this. I’ve used it once and I like that it doesn’t have that typical “oil” smell that a lot of facial oils have.
Day 4: Arlésienne Eau de Toilette
More fragrance!! I do have a tiny complaint though, neither this bottle nor the Verviene fragrance has a spritzer on it. The cap unscrews and I have to dab the bottle on my skin. How hard would it be to put a little spritzer in the bottle!? Arlésienne eau de toilette smells strongly of rose, but it also contains notes of violet, saffron, bergamot, and an array of other fragrance layers.
I find the title of this product a little weird, Delicious Hands, what? It smells great though! L’occitane hand creams are great quality, this cream smells like almonds and felt great on my skin. This is the perfect purse size for me.
Day 6: Shea Cleansing Oil
I’m excited to try this! I can’t recall that I have ever used a cleansing oil. It’s supposed to remove even the most waterproof makeup so I’m planning on putting that to the test.
Day 7: Immortelle Precious Cream
I’ve tried the Immortelle Divine cream but not the precious cream. This is supposed to minimize visible wrinkles and firm the skin. I’m always up to try anti-aging products! I don’t have a wrinkly face (yet) but I am noticing more fine lines when I’m sleep deprived. I don’t know that I’ll see any results because the pot I received is quite small.
