Hey lovelies! Today I wanted to share my most reached for lipsticks for summer. I have somehow accumulated an extensive lipstick collection over the past few years. When I was in university I literally only had one lipstick and I wore it every day. My, how things have changed!
Today I’m bringing 5 Amazing Lipstick Colors for Summer to your attention. Let me know if you’ve tried any of those lipsticks and what your go-to summer lipstick shades are!

5 Amazing Summer Lipstick Colors
In this post we have three bullet lipsticks, one liquid lipstick and one lip gloss. I love all 5 of these shades dearly and I hope that you will too! Remember to share on social media x
The first lipstick I’m sharing is rather affordable for something from Sephora, and that’s because it’s a lipstick from Sephora’s own makeup line. The Lipstories lipsticks launched last Summer if I remember correctly and retail for only $8USD. Since then other brands have been copying the idea of unique individual packaging for each lipstick bullet (think the Almay Lip Vibes lipsticks).
In my 2018 Spring Sephora VIB Haul I picked up the Sephora Lipstories Lipstick in Brunch Date and it’s become one of my favourite lipstick colors for Summer! Brunch Date is a matte salmony pink and it is THE perfect shade to wear to brunch. Move over ColourPop x Zoella Brunch Date collection!
This pink shade is so beautiful! It’s a gorgeous Pale Rose which borders on being a nude lipstick. The formula is really comfortable & creamy on the lips and doesn’t cake into lip lines. This is a perfect shade to keep in my purse for when I’m out and want a little pop of color.
I’m pretty sure that this lipstick is a deluxe sample, my mother in law gave it to me and the packaging is a little different from the Color Design lipsticks online. Packaging isn’t everything, the shade & formula are fantastic!
This is the most expensive lipstick on my list at $25USD, so if budget is an issue you absolutely don’t need it. I have other more affordable options on this list!
#3. ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick in Flower SZN
The Flower SZN Lux Lipstick is supposed to be a creme finish but it’s one of the most matte looking creme lipsticks that I own. Even more matte than their actual matte Lux Lipsticks. It’s not what I expected but I absolutely love the way Flower SZN looks on my lips. It’s a gorgeous hot coral bullet lipstick that not only feels comfortable on the lips but wears for hours and hours without much fading or feathering.
I featured this lipstick in some of my looks for my ColourPop Sweet Talk palette Review and it’s possibly my favourite lipstick color in 2019. The best part? It retails for $7.50.
The Balm finally came to Shoppers drug mart Canada and I was ecstatic! The best part was that I think they priced this lipstick wrong for the Canadian market and I got it for $9.99. In the US it retails for $17 so I’m pretty sure that it was supposed to be $19.99CAD. What a find!
Even though I have a large lipstick collection I don’t have any shades quite like Honesty. It’s a bright coral pink but it’s softer than Flower SZN. Even though it looks more red in the photo above I can assure you that it’s more pink toned! My mother in law instantly noticed that it was a new color on my lips and I generally don’t get too many comments from family about my lipstick (aside from my Dad who hates all makeup and takes every chance to tell me so).
Okay so this product isn’t tecnically a lipstick but I though it was worth mentioning since glossy lips are having a moment. Even though this specific shade of lip gloss was only available in a set that sold for Holidays 2018 (you can still buy it at Ulta) I think that the Becca Cosmetics Glow Lip Gloss formula in general should be a staple in your lipstick/lipgloss collection. I have enjoyed wearing all four shades from the set so much this summer, and I have happily dubbed Glow Gloss my Holy Grail of all lip glosses.
Becca Glow Gloss is Comfortable, Non-sticky, and generally long wearing depending on the chosen shade. They have glosses with shimmer and opaque glosses like Candy Cane Pictured above. This red has been on my lips countless times this Summer and you can see it in action in my Sydney Grace Cosmetics Review.
