Drugstore Skincare & Makeup Haul

Drugstore Skincare & Makeup HaulHopefully you don’t have a case of the Mondays like I do, but if you’re at all like me it’s nothing that can’t be solved with a little impulse shopping. Riiight?? My local Superstore FINALLY has an e.l.f. section. The last time I purchased from e.l.f.  I ordered a mega-haul online (which was incredibly inexpensive because e.l.f is one of the most affordable brands on the market). Naturally I had do an in store Drugstore Skincare & Makeup Haul.

Drugstore Skincare

Simple Cleansing Wipes with Micellar Water $6.98
The Unilever Trends Box came with a small pack of Simple wipes and I loved them. They feel so refreshing after a long early morning shift and are great for sensitive skin!

Nivea Gentle Toner $8.99
My skincare routine has been needing a little boost so I wanted a toner to step up my skincare game without breaking the bank. Generally I have liked Nivea in the past so I’m giving this toner for sensitive skin a try.

Goody Ouchless Headwraps $5.99
These came in a five pack of colourful headbands. I’ve been meaning to replace my old ones and these are tight enough on my head that they hopefully won’t slip off during HIIT.

e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit in Light $4
I’ve been wanting to try this little kit for a while. It will be nice to have another brow product to play with. Unfortunately the shade name light was misleading. If you are blonde and fair skinned I recommend the shade Ash, the pomade from the light kit is too dark on me.

e.l.f. Perfect Finish HD Powder $8
I’m currently undergoing a MUA certification course and the instructor is all about finishing powder. I know there are better powders out there but I wanted something affordable to practice with.

I like it so far, It doesn’t sting or burn my skin at all and is really inexpensive compared to some other brands!

I was just about to pick up the ELF Brow Kit in Medium this Saturday but I neglected to. What are your thoughts on it?

    • October 3, 2016 / 8:26 pm

This is my first time purchasing it, so I’ve only played around with it a little bit so far. The wax seems to have give good shape and hold to my eyebrows. My only problem is that I bought the kit in light and the wax is quite dark compared to my actual hair colour so it looks a little bit unnatural on me, but the brow powder matches great. I personally don’t like the brush that came with it much, but that’s only a minor thing. For the price I really cant complain! Have you bought it before?

Do you find much difference between the Simple Micellar wipes and the regular cleansing ones? I’ve been meaning to try the micellar wipes for ages but I’ve hoarded so many packs of the regular ones that I’m not sure I’ll ever finish them haha!

This is my first time trying them and I found the micellar wipes worked slightly better to remove my gel eyeliner, but other than that there wasn’t a significant difference for me. I dont think it’s the kind of micellar water designed specifically for waterproof makeup, so I think youd be fine with the regular ones!

That’s interesting because it’s only really eyeliner and occasionally mascara that the regular ones struggle to remove. I’ll wait until I’ve used my hundreds of regular ones I think, thanks! 😀
