I have found my Holy Grail lip gloss. While strolling through Marshalls I stumbled across the Becca x Chrissy Teigan Icing Glow Gloss set which sat in my cart for most of the holiday season. I’m glad I didn’t splurge at Christmas time because it was marked down to $15CAD! I picked it up, feeling slightly guilty because of how many products I’ve purchased lately but also feeling proud of myself for finding a great deal. It’s a fine line to walk…
Glossy lips are having a moment right now. I’ve been wearing a TON of lipgloss lately and have been searching for the perfect, pigmented non-sticky gloss. I had hoped that the Bite Beauty French Press Gloss would be my perfect lip gloss but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be. Thankfully I finally found another gloss that answers my lip gloss prayers — a gloss that is non-sticky, comfortable, and has just the right amount of colour. I won’t gloss over it… Let’s talk about the Becca Cosmetics Glow Lip Gloss!

Becca Glow Lip Gloss Review
Becca Glow Lip Gloss retails for $27CAD and contains 0.18oz of product ($150/oz). For comparison the ABH lip gloss retails at $21 for 0.16oz ($131.25/oz), the Tarte H2O lipgloss retails at $24 for 0.135oz ($177/oz) and the Buxom Full on Plumping Lip Polish retails for $24 for 0.15oz ($160/oz). Glow Gloss is still expensive but it’s kind of in the middle value-wise as far as mid-range lip glosses go.
These glosses are currently available in ten different shades plus a limited edition Champagne Crème Glow Gloss.
I’m going to focus more on the formula of these glosses and less on the specific shades because the Becca x Chrissy Tiegan Lip Icing set is limited edition. The set is no longer available at Sephora but it’s still available at Ulta here.
- Vitamin E – Conditions
- Shae & Muru Muru Butters – Nourishes
- Ginger & Peppermint Oils – Smoothes & Plumps for fuller looking lips
I have one problem with the packaging of the Becca Glow Lip Glosses, and it’s the rounded base. This might be just a beauty blogger thing but I think I remember that Nova also had a problem with this when she wrote her review. I like to stand my lipglosses up okay? These lip glosses fall over when I try to stand them up so I’ve been keeping them in their Chrissy Teigan Lip Icing box.
I can technically stand them up upside-down but I’m worried the product would leak out if I did that all the time. The Becca Glow Gloss applicator features a small doe foot wand. The caps on these glosses are usually silver but mine are gold because they’re part of a collaboration.
My Becca x Chrissy Teigan Lip Icing Glow Gloss set included four glow lip glosses. The four shades in the set are Crème Brûlée, Cinnamon Bun, Sugar Plum and Candy Cane. The first three glosses have a slight shimmer finish but Candy Cane is a solid red with no shimmer.
All of these glosses are comfortable, non-sticky and wear pretty well as long as I’m not eating or drinking constantly. They also never bleed, even when worn on bare lips. Awesome!
I didn’t notice a tingling sensation from the Peppermint Oil, nor did I notice the plumping effect the Becca Glow Glosses are supposed to have. It’s honestly not a deal breaker for me, I didn’t even realize they were marketed as plumping before I purchased them. Let’s talk about each shade individually.
Crème Brûlée is the perfect nude gloss. It has a touch of shimmer and goes on as a sheer pink. It’s works well as a lip topper or to wear over bare lips. The pink isn’t very visible so it’s a good your-lips-but-better gloss.
Cinnamon Bun leans more metallic than the previous gloss. It’s still very wearable and isn’t as foiled looking as a metallic liquid lipstick but it’s definitely more than just a shimmer. This bronze shade pairs well with a neutral or gold eyeshadow look. I prefer to wear it over bare lips instead of over a lipstick because of how much color you get from one swipe of this gloss.
Like Cinnamon Bun, Sugar Plum is more metallic than shimmery but the effect is subtle enough that this Becca Glow Lip Gloss can be worn everyday. I prefer this gloss over bare lips as well. Actually, the only gloss here that I would wear as a lip topper is Crème Brûlée because it’s so sheer. Cinnamon bun & Sugar plum are much more opaque on the lips!
Candy Cane is possibly my favourite lip gloss EVER! I enjoy wearing red lipstick from time to time but I always worry about the formula smudging and getting on my teeth in public. This gloss does neither of those things and the red is almost completely opaque with just a touch of sheerness. There is no shimmer to this gloss, just shine. It’s the perfect Summer red! I just ignore that it’s called Candy Cane, holiday releases are good year round.
Overall I really love these lip glosses and I will definitely be picking up more in the future. I hope that Becca continues to put out more shades because I want them all! The pros far outweigh the cons for me and it feels like I’ve been searching for a lip gloss like the Becca Glow Gloss forever.
- Non Sticky
- Doesn’t bleed
