Benefit Cosmetics Bad Gal Lash Mascara Review

Today I said goodbye to my Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara. I bought it in February and it passed the 6 month mark so it was time to let it go. If you don’t throw out your older mascaras it’s something to think about, all kinds of bacteria can gather on the applicator wand and you don’t want to get an eye infection from continued use after the expiry date.

Mascara wasn’t part of my normal routine until this year when I bought this travel sized tube at Sephora. I still don’t really use it all that often but when I want a more natural look without eyeliner this gives my eyes some definition without being overkill.

  • Separates lashes
  • Removes easily with makeup remover
  • Cute packaging

  • Has no curling power on it’s own. If you don’t have time to use an eyelash curler this probably isn’t for you.
  • The wand is a bit bulky
  • Clumps if you apply too many coats
  • Will transfer to your under eye area pretty quickly if you blink before it dries
  • Smudges easily

I’m still not sure if Bad Gal Lash Mascara is for me because the curl factor isn’t there. I like the look of it when I’ve used an eyelash curler beforehand, but it’s hard to find a good curler these days. I have a few mascara samples lying around thanks to subscription boxes (I’m looking at you Topbox) so I’d like to try out a few different products before coming back to this mascara.

Have you tried Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash Mascara and which mascara is your favourite?

Love this review! Sweet & Simple. I use the CoverGirl Clump Crusher. Just $7 and worth every penny.
