Benefit Cosmetics Precisely My Brow Review

A few weeks ago Topbox Circle & Benefit Canada sent me a Benefit Cosmetics Precisely My Brow Pencil in exchange for a review on Sephora’s & Shoppers Drug Mart’s websites. I was so excited to try this out, brow products are typically something that I buy from the drugstore or from ColourPop (see my Brow Boss & Precision Brow Pencil Reviews). I’m not too picky with my brow products as long as the shade matches me well, so I don’t delve in higher end brow pencils very often. They aren’t what I consider necessary & affordable in my current budget but many of my favourite YouTubers swear by the Benefit Cosemtics Precisely My Brow Pencil so of course I was curious to try it.

*The Benefit Cosmetics Precisely My Brow Pencil was sent to me for review but that doesn’t change my thoughts or opinions on it. I will always be honest in my reviews.*

This ultra-fine eyebrow pencil draws incredibly natural-looking, hair-like strokes that last 12 budge-proof hours. A few strokes of the rich yet blendable colour will transform brows from shapeless & undefined to filled & defined eyebrows.

The Benefit Cosmetics Precisely My Brow Pencil retails for $32CAD and contains 0.08g of product. It comes in 8 different shades at Sephora and features a spoolie on one end. The Pencil is also available in mini size for $17CAD. I have the shade 4.5 which is a brown with a red undertone.

Benefit Cosmetics Precisely My Brow Pencil Review Spoolie

I love how luxurious the Precisely My Brow Pencil is. The silver twist up pencil is so stylish! I like that one cap is pointed while the other is short and angular so it’s easy for me to tell them apart. When I use my ColourPop Brow Pencils I always pull off the wrong side when I’m reaching for either the pencil or the spoolie.

The spoolie is soft and not scratchy at all. That’s very important to me. When I tried the Essence Make Me Brow Gel the spoolie was so infuriatingly scratchy that I stopped reaching for it even though I liked the formula itself. The tip of the Precisely My Brow pencil is thin so it’s easy to make precise lines. It’s a great pencil for carving out “instagram brows”!

The packaging gets an A+ from me.

Formula & Performance

The Precisely My Brow Pencil is really smooth and glides on almost like a gel pencil. I love how effortless it is to fill in sparse areas, blend them out and define the tail ends of my eyebrows. It takes me a little less time to fill them in using the Benefit Precisely my brow pencil than it does using a drugstore alternative. That being said, I feel like the end result is the same using this pencil vs a drugstore pencil. My eyebrows don’t really look any different using this $32 pencil or a $6- $12. A good alternative to this brow pencil is the ColourPop Brow Boss Pencil!

Benefit Precisely My Brow lasts most of the day for me. From my experiences the 12 hour claim is accurate. I have never looked in the mirror and thought “my eyebrows are gone!”

What’s your favourite brow pencil?

Overall I like the Precisely My Brow Pencil. It’s great but I’m just not willing to shell out $32 on an eyebrow product. Have you guys tried the Benefit Cosmetics Precisely My Brow Pencil? Did you find it all that different from a drugstore pencil? Let’s discuss! Talk soon xx

This is actually my favorite eyebrow pencil I’ve tried so far, way better than the it cosmetics one which I used to love so much. Granted I haven’t used many brow pencils and I’m not going to repurchase because it’s too expensive for me and not CF. I believe people have said the nyx one comes close so I hope I can buy that one next lol

It’s definitely good! I’m not disputing that at all, I guess brow products are just not something that I like to splurge on 🤔
But I’m glad to hear you like this one more than the it cosmetics pencil, I remember you telling me you liked that one! I’ve heard that the Nyx one is a dupe for the Brow wiz (I haven’t tried it). I remember liking the Nyx pencil, it was a long time ago though! I hope you can find an affordable alternative to the benefit cosmetics pencil 🙂

I just feel so passionate about it, LMAO when I got it I was thinking I wasn’t going to like it lol. But yeah, I wouldn’t be able to buy it.. Can’t justify that price for a brow product. I’ll look into that nyx one, I’ve heard lots of great things about it, hopefully it’s not lies because I genuinely love lots of NYX products LOL.

lol! I hope the Nyx one is just as good. I’ve also heard people say it’s pretty good so I think it’s a safe bet! And much less expensive than the Precisely My Brow pencil…

You and me both! I have too many little samples lying around lol

Sounds like a great brow pencil, I’ve heard so many good reviews about it! But I have to agree with you, it’s expensive for a brow pencil, you don’t even get any extra products with it. I love how honest you are with your reviews , fab review as always x

Thank you so much, it means a lot to hear that 🙂 It’s so hard to decide if products are worth it sometimes when everyone has very different budgets. I can see someone on a higher income having no problem spending money on this pencil but for me it’s not a necessity. Thanks for reading! x

I agree that it is difficult to stomach spending a lot on brow pencils when there are so many good affordable options. I am the same way with brow gels. It’s a gel for crying out loud, why would I spend $30 on that. But I did… I got the Benefit Gimme Brow when I had a GC and I like it a lot! Oh no! Lol. It’s good when you love something that was in your opinion expensive because that makes it worth it, but there’s something about expensive products that also makes you want to hate them lol.

That’s always the worst finding out you love something expensive! That’s me and eyeshadow palettes, I want to love the cheaper ones but the more expensive ones are usually worth it.
I just think that with an eyebrow pencil I can get basically the same looking brows all day for less money, so I’d rather do that. But if it outperformed my drugstore pencils then I’d have a problem lol!

        Yes totally!

I need to try that one!

  5. January 16, 2019 / 5:04 pm

Right now I’m using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz or the Makeup Revolution Brow Powder! I love both of them so much. I’ve been wanting to test this out before, but just never really have gone out of my way to do so. If it ain’t broke, then why fix it! I feel like brow products are just not one of those types of products that I get that excited to like experiment with and try, you know? Maybe when one of my brow products run out, I’ll give this one a try? Great post Cleia, I love how you’re honest no matter what 🙂 xxx

I totally agree, if you have a brow routine that works for you then is there really a good reason to change it? I’m grateful that I was sent this brow product to review but I don’t think it’s really revolutionary. Thanks for reading! x
