ColourPop Haul | New eyeshadow palettes!

ColourPop Haul - Palettes, Lipstick, etc

Today I wanted to share a ColourPop haul with you guys. I hope 2021 is treating you well. I’ve given up on resolutions, and I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much this year. I remember tearing up the first time I read that a vaccine was approved and likely to begin distribution by the spring. I know that my friends & family likely won’t be vaccinated until the Fall, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Still, I feel very suspicious walking into 2020. What’s waiting around the corner? I’m not sleeping well, I’m burned out, and I’m trying to hold myself together. I’ve always considered myself a strong person, and I’m usually able to find a light even in the darkness. I keep worrying about 2021 being even worse!

Sometimes I need to take a step back and realize that I am surviving. I have my health, my family and my cats. I also had a little cash to spare at the end of last year, so I decided to treat myself to a couple ColourPop treats! A little retail therapy can go a long way. I don’t really like to share a ton of hauls on my blog, but I thought it would be fun to give you a teaser of the products I’m planning on reviewing.

ColourPop The Child Yoda Themed Eyeshadow Palette ColourPop The Child Palette Review

ColourPop The Child Palette

This is a pretty small haul, especially compared to previous ColourPop Hauls I have posted. I picked up two eyeshadow palettes a lip gloss and a blending sponge. I’ll be reviewing the palettes, and have shared my thoughts on the other two palettes in this post.

The overall reason for this ColourPop Haul and my decision to pick up the Child palette is that my husband & I got a Disney + subscription for Christmas. We started watching the Mandelorian together around the holidays and I couldn’t get over how cute baby Yoda is!

I found myself drawn to the Child palette and convinced myself that I would wear it. I love green eyeshadow, it’s one of the few colours I’ll still pull out these days. My Covid Beauty Routine is pretty lazy but I still like to pull out some colour once in a while.

ColourPop Grandeur Palette Packaging Grandeur Palette Neutral eyeshadow

ColourPop Grandeur Palette

The second palette I chose was the Grandeur Palette from ColourPop’s Dark Bloom collection. I was originally drawn to the Baroque Palette, but then I realized that I can probably dupe all those blue-grey cool toned shades from my Sydney Grace shadows. I got their cool toned bundle during their Christmas in July sale and it’s pretty similar to Baroque. Granted, I already have similar tones to the Grandeur palette… I’m just a sucker for those wearable everyday shades and Grandeur adds just a touch of glam to what I already have.

Pretty Fresh Precision Blending Sponge

ColourPop Precision Blending Sponge

In addition to the palettes I also picked up their Precision Blending Sponge. It was on sale for $2.50, so I didn’t have a lot to lose there. My current sponge has outlived its life cycle and a $2.50 replacement is pretty low risk.

I’m glad I got it on sale.. because I realized after a few uses that I really don’t like it! The sponge barely expands when damp, and it absorbs so much product I find myself using double the amount of foundation when I use it. It blends everything out alright, but I’d rather not waste foundation if I don’t have to.

After purchasing I realized that this sponge is actually meant to be on the smaller side. ColourPop has a larger sponge available as well. This one is probably meant more for concealer than foundation, but I still noticed that it absorbed a lot of product either way.

If you’re considering this sponge do yourself a favour and get a Real Techniques sponge, RT has the best drugstore pricepoint sponge I’ve tried to date.

Me V the Wold Ultra Glossy Lip

Ultra Glossy Lip: Me V the World

The last product in this ColourPop Haul was the Me V The World lip gloss. I really like ColourPop’s Ultra Glossy Lip formula, they remind me a lot of Kylie Cosmetics’ formula but for a fraction of the price. This gloss formula is very comfortable and not sticky at all. I find it hard to justify buying high end glosses when there’s a formula this good for under $10.

ColourPop Haul 2021

What have you treated yourself to lately?

I hope you enjoyed this little ColourPop Haul! I’m planning on reviewing both The Child and Grandeur Palettes. All my photography and swatches are done already for those posts, so I’ll hopefully get both of those reviews up in a few weeks. Let me know which you’d like to read first! Stay safe out there x

While I definitely can’t pull off green, The baby yoda palette looks so cute! I think both of the palettes you picked up look gorgeous, and I can’t wait to see your reviews on them 🙂 xxx

Oh my gosh that Child palette is one of the cutest releases I think I’ve seen in a while! I love how minty the shades are.

I’m suspicious of 2021 too. Of course I’m hoping for the best, and the vaccine news is encouraging but overall things are still very, very bad at least here in the U.S. At least we have a different federal administration now that’s taking things more seriously, so hopefully, hopefully that will make a difference.

I’m so obsessed with the palette! I’m still finding creative combinations of the shades a few weeks in 😊

I hope it does too! I’ve been following us politics closely, I’m glad the inauguration is over and hopefully you’ll start to see change and improvements. Fingers crossed for a speedy vaccine rollout!

That’s the mark of a great palette, when it doesn’t get boring too quickly!

Yes, me too, fingers and toes crossed!

That’s the cutest thing ever ❤️

The Child palette is so cute! I purchased one of the Colourpop sponges a while ago and because I barely use a sponge mine is okay. I find it nice and bouncy but the coverage it gives is so light, I must try it with my darkest foundation to see how it looks applied sheerer. I think I’ll retire the sponge soon as I much prefer brushes to apply my foundation. I’ve always been curious to try the RT sponge 😊

I’m glad the sponge is working for you! Yes light coverage is a good way to describe it, because it sucks up all the product LOL
What brush do you like for foundation? I always seem to get a streaky application with brushes, I probably don’t have the right one!

I’ve got a couple from Real Techniques and Zoeva. The Expert Face Brush from Real Techniques and the 102 and 104 from Zoeva are good! Sigma supposedly have good brushes too but I haven’t tried them.

I’ll watch out for the RT brushes! I’ve heard great things about Zoeva and Sigma too x

The child palette is so pretty!! I purchased it for my sister as a Christmas gift cause she really wanted it!! Wonderful haul!! 😍

I hope she absolutely loves it! It’s probably my favourite release that came out in all of 2020 🙂 Thanks for reading!! x
