Hey beauties! Today we are reviewing the ColourPop This Is For You Highlighter Palette. I was lucky enough to get this three pan highlight palette for free, the last time I placed an order this palette was a freebie for spending $50, which is the minimum I spend anyways at ColourPop to qualify for international free shipping. If you love my ColourPop reviews you can now find them at one place on my website, I have a ColourPop Reviews section under the beauty tab!
ColourPop This Is For You Highlighter Palette
Highly reflective highlighter that gives your skin high-shine with a radiant glow. It contains buttery-soft powders that feel creamy, apply super smoothly, and blend evenly on the skin. High colour intensity from the pearls leaves a luminous, satiny feel. — ColourPop
The ColourPop This Is For You Highlighter Palette retails for $15USD and contains three 3.6g highlighters for a total of 10.8g of product. This works out to $1.39 per gram or $5 per pan. The three shades in the palette are gold and champagne fan favourites from ColourPop’s In-Nude-Endo and Gimme More palettes. If a six pan highlight palette is too much for you this three pan palette is a nice alternative to the giant palette you might never use up.
The packaging of the ColourPop This Is For You highlighter palette is very minimal. You get a cardboard palette with the name of the palette boldly printed in yellow on the front, no mirror and three highlighter pans.
The ColourPop This Is For You Highlighter Palette has three champagne and gold highlights. I really wanted the In-nude-endo palette when it released but I was uncertain about how the deeper shades would look against my skin tone. There is one pale highlight in the This Is For You palette (Glad You Came) but the other two are slightly deeper. I didn’t need to be worried at all, all three highlights work well with my skin tone.
Morning After: (In-Nude-Endo) light peach with gold and pink highlights
Glad You Came: (In-Nude-Endo) warm ivory
Bigger and Better: (Gimme More) champagne
All three shades in the This Is For You Palette have a pearlized, non glittery finish. I don’t know about you, but I really detest glittery highlights. They settle into all my fine lines and the glitter winds up everywhere except for where I placed it. A pearlized sheen is much more in line with my personal preferences. All three highlights in the ColourPop This Is For You Highlighter Palette looked subtle and natural on me when applied with a brush. I was expecting a dazzling glow so the subtle sheen was unexpected but not unwelcome. The glow can be upped by applying these shades with your fingers or with a wet brush.
Morning After is a peachy highlighter with notes of gold and pink. I’m obsessed with peachy pink highlighters right now so this is right up my alley for that peachy glow. It looks really natural against my skin tone.
Glad You Came is a pale ivory. Even though it looks blinding in the pan it’s very muted on the skin. It doesn’t look too crazy so it’s an ideal highlighter for days I have to work.
Bigger & Better is described as a champagne shade but it’s more of a rosy pink. It’s also subtle and almost camouflages against my skin. I was worried about how this shade would look against my light skin tone when I was checking out the palette online but it turns out I didn’t need to worry. It looks much darker on CP’s website than it does in person.
Is the This Is For You Palette Worth it?
If you love peachy highlighters that also look natural the ColourPop This Is For You Highlighter Palette might be worth it, $15 is pretty cheap for a highlighter palette; HOWEVER, taking into account the price per gram of the palette these shades retail for $1.39/g. ColourPop’s individual pressed highlighters retail for $1.07/g without a compact to go with them and even if you include the extra $1 for the compact the price is still only $1.23/g. This means that the ColourPop This Is For You Highlighter Palette is actually more expensive than buying a few singles.
Still, this is a really nice size for a palette, I feel like the six pan palettes would be way too much for me to use up. The This Is For You Highlighter Palette makes a nice intro to ColourPop’s pressed highlighter formula without buying a full 6 pan palette.
