Day to Night with the Pixi Beauty Eye Heart Palette

Hey beauties! I have a different type of post for you today besides a boring old review. I thought it would be fun to create a day & night make look with the Pixi Beauty x Heart Defensor Eye Heart Palette.

In December Pixi Beauty sent me a gorgeous collection of their Pixi Pretties collaborations, including the beautiful Eye Heart palette from Heart Defensor. The palette contains ten eyeshadows in a mix of matte & shimmer finishes. This is the same eyeshadow formula that can be found in the Pixi Eye Reflections palettes, so if you want to know a little bit more about the formula you can check out my review.

Day Time

Even if we can’t go out right now due to the Covid-19 Pandemic I think it’s important to normalize our routine. Some of us still work in jobs that are considered necessary public services, and are still going to work each day. I wear makeup daily, even when I’m just in my house! It’s one of my favourite parts of my morning routine and it makes me feel normal and like I haven’t given up on myself just because of the lockdown.

Pixi Beauty Eye Heart Palette Orange Makeup for Spring Time

This soft orange makeup look from the Pixi Eye Heart Palette reminds me that Spring is coming. It’s still rather cold and snowy outside where I live, so even if it is officially Springtime it doesn’t feel like it yet. Oranges are complementary to blue eyes, so I’ll wear these oranges all I can!

Eye Heart Palette Looks
Night Time

Okay, so now for my night look. The darkest matte shade in the palette isn’t really all that dark. It can be hard to build depth using the Eye Heart Palette alone, but sometimes you don’t necessarily need that dark outer V to have a complete eyeshadow look.

Orange and Red Eyeshadow Look

Instead of a darker matte in the outer V I used the shimmery purple shade all over the outer corner, and halfway across my lid. Then I used a matte shade all over my half cut crease, and blended the centre with an orangey champagne shimmer. I absolutely love how this cut crease came out! I’ve been trying to remember to practice them more — Practice makes perfect!

Which look is your favourite?

I wish you all safety, health and happiness right now. The world is in turmoil, but remember that it is not ending. We will recover, we will rebuild, and we will be stronger. Maybe the Alberta Premier will stop trying to gut our healthcare system after this… Who knows? Let me know how you’re surviving lockdown, quarantine, isolation, etc.

Keep your head up! x

Cleia, I applaud you for continuing to wear makeup throughout the lockdown, even on days you just stayed home! I have to admit, I totally gave up on myself. 😭 This palette is so cute. I love the last look you created so much! What a fun post!

I’m definitely wearing less throughout everything! I rarely wear eyeliner anymore or mascara, sometimes I don’t even wear foundation anymore 😄 we’re all going through this pandemic differently, I can’t wait until it’s over!
Thanks Hunida! I hope you’re doing well

Really loving the second look, definitely my favorite. Nice job on the cut crease. And this palette is really gorgeous, however, I do need those darker shades to really create some dimension. I love the look of subtle/smokey looks but I like to have the option of doing more lol

Thank you! I used my new concealer brush from Ipsy. I wasn’t actually excited about the brush at first, but turns out it makes a cut crease much easier!
That’s a good point. It is a little harder to create depth with the shades, so it’s limiting in that regard. It would be nice to vary the shades a little!

Brushes definitely make a difference. I’m in need of some new ones for eye makeup specifically. Too bad I have to wait.. lol

Beautiful looks as always! I really must get my hands on a Pixi palette one of these days. I love that they have such a comprehensive range of colors and textures, and they always seems to get great reviews.
