Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today I have an empties post for you. In the past I didn’t write them very often but many of you have told me how much you love reading them so I’m trying to post them more often. These are my March & April Empties.
Bath, Body, & Hair
Calgon Japanese Cherry Blossom Bubble Bath: I love this brand for bubble bath! It smells wonderful and produces more bubbles than B&BW bubble baths. It also costs a lot less, I bought this bottle for about six dollars. Repurchase? Yes!
Arbonne Ginger Citrus Sugar Scrub: I don’t even know how long I’ve had this scrub for, but I finally finished it. I think it was a Christmas gift a few years ago? Arbonne scrubs are very greasy so I tended to only use them when shaving my legs — the oil left my skin super soft and moisturized afterwards. Repurchase? No, only because Arbonne is really expensive and they require a membership to make a purchase.
British Rose Shower Gel Mini: This is one of the products I was trying to use up from my Spring Project Pan. I really love the scent of this gel, I’d like to try some of the other products from The Body Shop’s British Rose line. Repurchase? Yes, once I finish a few other bath products!
Dove Camomile Dry Spray: I received this in one of the Unilever Topboxes last fall. It was my first time using a spray deodorant and I have to say, I don’t think I’ll go back to the traditional stick deodorant. It’s lightweight and the scent is subtle but not overpowering. I’m sad I ran out! Repurchase? Yes.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo: This was in my Project Pan! I received this mini from Ipsy last March. It took me a long time to use it, but dry shampoo was new to me so I just rarely thought to reach for it. I found the smell to be very strong. A few hours after using it I smelled like I was wearing perfume which wasn’t good for my workplace’s scent-free policy! Repurchase? No. I want to try the Batiste dry shampoo instead.
Skincare, Scent, & Makeup
Simple Cleansing Wipes: This is a repeat purchase for me. These are great when I’m on morning shifts and really don’t feel like washing my face in the morning. They also remove makeup quite well. Repurchase? Definitely.
Glam Glow Flashmud Treatment: This came from last July’s Topbox. I got quite a few uses out of this travel sized mini. I didn’t notice any noticeable changes to my skin using it, though it did smell nice! Repurchase? No, but I’d like to try some of Glamglow’s other masks!
NeoGen Coconut Milk Pure Mild Cleanser: I received this cleanser in my Ipsy glam bag last month. It unfortunately caused my face to itch if I applied it directly onto dry skin, but it didn’t bother me as much when applying with my konjac sponge. Repurchase? No.
Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream: I honestly noticed no change in my under eye contour area when using this eye cream. Zero reduction of fine lines and dark circles. I’m glad I received this as a bonus deluxe sample from a Sephora purchase because I wouldn’t have wanted to spend money on this. Repurchase? No.
Smashbox Primer Oil: I had this for such a long time before I made myself finish it. this is a tiny bottle but I didn’t need a lot to cover my whole face. It felt nice on my skin, but I can’t really say that it improved the longevity of my makeup. My skin was definitely more moisturized, but any oil would serve that purpose. Repurchase? No.
Elizabeth Arden Always Red Fragrance: This little fragrance sample was really not my favourite. It smells nice enough, but it was almost too fragrant. There were so many layers of scent that it just overwhelmed me. Repurchase? No.
One Time Use Samples
Bourghese Fango Mud Mask: This mask came from the February Look Fantastic Box. It was unfortunate that this mud mask couldn’t reseal, because there was more mud than I could handle in this tube. There was definitely enough for two generous applications inside, but I made do with applying it to my face, arms, chest, and back in an effort to use it all up. I still had so much left over afterwards!! It wasn’t any different than other mud masks I have tried, but I did feel the experience relaxing. Repurchase? No, I have a giant bottle of mud mask that does the same thing.
Biore Nose Strip: This was an Elle Canada magazine insert. I had never used a nose strip before, but lately my skin has been awful so I gave this strip a shot. It didn’t clear up all of my black heads, but I definitely noticed an improvement. The only bad thing I have to say about this nose strip was that after it dries on your nose it hurts quite a bit to remove. It’s like ripping a bandaid off, even if you do it slowly. Repurchase? Yes.
Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Eye Cream: This was a Sephora sample. I got four uses out of this packet which I used over two days — Once in the morning and once at night. It felt very refreshing and moisturizing on my under eye area and eyelid and has the same scent as the Fresh Soy Cleanser. Repurchase? Maybe, but it won’t be for a while! I have an almost full jar of eye cream right now.
Have you tried any of these products?
