It’s been literally an entire year since I reviewed a Fabfitfun box. I quit just about all subscription boxes this year. I was reviewing Boxycharm for a few months but I was overwhelmed receiving so many full sized beauty products each month. Lately I’ve missed reviewing subscription boxes though so I thought what better subscription to return to than Fabfitfun? Fabfitfun always sends a great range of beauty and lifestyle products, and given that Christmas is coming the winter box is a great way to stock up on stocking stuffers! Let’s see what I thought about the Winter Fabfitfun box…
What: A Women’s Lifestyle Subscription that typically contains a mix of beauty, fashion, lifestyle and fitness items worth anywhere from $150-$250USD (sometimes more!)
Cost: $49.99US per Box
Shipping: $8US to Canada, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, & Alaska. FREE for mainland USA
*NOTE: This post contains my Fabfitfun referral link.
FabFitFun TV is a collection of fitness videos that subscribers can exclusively access through the FFF website. FFF is constantly updating the workouts available to subscribers. Since I was last a fabfitfun member their videos have expanded to include cooking, meditation, drink recipes and more. For reviewing purposes I of course tried out some new videos…
Let me know if you guys would like a review on some of the videos I’ve watched. I’d love to write another Cooking with Cleia round up of the recipes I’ve tried 🙂
FABFITFUN WINTER BOX REVIEW
The Fabfitfun Winter Box for 2018 has such a cozy design. I love how much time and effort they put into their box designs month after month, they’re all different! I love the imagery of friends sitting around a fire, it reminds me of weekend ski trips. This season I tried to Holiday up my photos with some festive props!
The Fabfitfun Winter Box for 2018 is partnered with Kindness Factory. Fabfitfun always partners with a charity of some sort for each box. Kindness Factory seeks to log 1 million acts of kindness from around the world by 2020. I checked out their page and it’s really cool, people around the world post about how they have “paid it forward”.
Fabfitfun Lifestyle Magazine
Fabfitfun always does these cute magazines to go with their boxes. Last winter had a newspaper style magazine which was really cool. I actually keep all of these because they often contain recipes, styling tips and other useful information that I might refer to at a later date. I’m looking forward to flipping through this one when I find some free time. As usual the products in the Winter Fabfitfun box are packaged beautifully with tissue paper and a sticker to seal it.
Mark & Graham Color Block Throw $49
Fabfitfun usually includes some sort of lifestyle item like a scarf, a tea towel, or a blanket. Last winter’s box had a BB Dakota poncho which I love, and I’m just as happy to see a throw blanket in my box. I was hoping for the taupey brown blanket but this grey one is nice too. This blanket is thin, so I don’t know that I would cuddle up in this alone but it might be nice to drape over my shoulders while curled up on the couch.
Unfortunately the fibres are thin and delicate. Ion’s claws snagged in it the first time he walked across it.
I have mixed feelings receiving Way of Will only because I was asked to pick out some samples of this brand by one of their PR agents and when I told her which products interested me I was ghosted. No replies, no nothing. Even though she was responding to me for the first three messages… Maybe it will be amazing, I will try to keep an open mind.
I’ve been meaning to try out a diffuser for my home but I haven’t picked one up yet. They’re expensive! Luckily you can use these essential oils on your skin for a quick aromatherapy boost. The orange oil smells fantastic.
This was another product that subscribers could choose when customizing their box. The options were a Pür Cosmetics Be Your Selfie Palette, a Jade roller or this Richer Poorer Reina Over The Knee Sock. The socks were the least expensive choice but I felt that they suited me much better than the other products I’ve been skeptical of Pür cosmetics since the dreaded Pür X Boxycharm Palette and I think the face roller trend is kind of nonsensical. Please don’t hate me, face rollers just aren’t for me.
These socks are going to look so cute when worn with my knee high boots! I’m always up for cozy socks in the winter.
Lele Sadoughi Silver Necklace with Circle Pendant $49
The next fashion product in my Fabfitfun Winter box was this silver circle pendant necklace from Lele Sadoughi. This was the last product that I was able to pick out for myself. The options were a jewellery organizing portfolio, an Oribe Dry Shampoo or this necklace. I ended up loving the necklace I got in last winter’s box, so I thought why not get another classic piece?
This circle pendant necklace is elegant and simple. I hated the tassle trend and I’m glad it seems to be over now. I would much rather wear a circle pendant than a tassle around my neck…
Blaq Hydrogel Eye Masks $29
YES! Last winter we received some Grace & Stella Eye Gel Masks and I loved them, I rationed them all year long for when I was working 4am shifts. I haven’t tried a brand of eye gel masks that I didn’t like so I’m sure I will love these.
I don’t know why these Blaq Eye Masks need charcoal if they’re only for the eye area though, I might be naïve but I didn’t think my under eye area really needed deep cleaning…
Seal split ends, strengthen hair, and make your tresses more manageable with this fortifying blend of argan oil and keratin components.
This was an item that I was able to customize as part of my FFF membership. I’m not an annual subscriber but regular members are been given a few product options to choose from. This Winter we were able to choose between a headband and glove set or this hair mask. I have more gloves than I know what to do with and zero hair masks in my possession so I chose the hair mask.
Hollllly Molllly this hair mask is expensive. These prices are in USD, so to my Canadian eyes this hurts. I hope this mask does some good for my hair!
OMG. YAAAASS. I just tried the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick for the first time when I picked up my Sephora Birthday gift last month and I loved the formula. I’m so excited that the Winter Fabfitfun box included an one of these because these lipsticks aren’t cheap! This is the shade Meringue and it’s a peachy nude. Surprisingly I don’t have a whole lot of peachy lipsticks so it’s also new to my lipstick color family.
I hear Thrive Causemetics talked about a lot on YouTube but I don’t see it a lot in the blogging world. Thrive Causemetics donates a product for every product that is purchased to a woman in need.
When I hear “in need” I don’t always think about makeup. Makeup is definitely a want but I think a lot of us can agree that wearing makeup can make us feel a certain way. I personally feel more confident and more “myself” when I wear makeup, it lets me express myself creatively and cover anything I might be self conscious of (aka cold sores. I get them, it sucks). Keeping that in mind I can understand how being given something as simple as a mascara can really boost self esteem. It doesn’t help with the physical needs but I do think it can help someone going through a rough patch psychologically.
I haven’t had a product like the Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener in a long time. I usually just use a bit of highlighter in the inner corners and on my brow bone this pencil can also be worn on the waterline. I’m going to try it out! *Update: There is now a review of this product on my blog!
We also received an Ahava product in last Winter’s box. Last Winter it was an Ahava hand cream and it’s a favourite to date. I leave it next to my B&BW pumpkin cupcake soap in the bathroom for guests. This Hydration Cream mask contains mineral spring water, shea butter, and vitamin E to hydrate and soften the skin. Hydration is a must this time of year!
Fabfitfun Winter Box Value $314USD
My Fabfitfun winter box totalled up to $314USD. Um. That’s a LOT! I was annoyed because I paid $88CAD for the Fabfitfun Winter Box after the exchange rate and shipping, but seeing the total value soothes my nerves some. I’m thrilled that I got a Bite Beauty lipstick, I love the Amuse Bouche Formula and I’m normally a liquid lipstick kind of girl. The overall curation of the products was really good, there was a mix of elegant lifestyle products and on trend beauty products. I love that I was able to customize some of my box while still having a few surprises. Over all I’m impressed as usual with the Fabfitfun Winter Box.
