Fall Beauty Anti-Haul | Upcoming & Recent Releases

Fall Beauty Anti-HaulHey Everyone! With the Sephora Rouge & VIB Appreciation Haul in full swing I felt that it was time to share an anti-haul of upcoming and recent beauty releases that I’m just not feeling. I did purchase a few things during the VIB sale but I definitely didn’t go crazy.

ColourPop Jelly Much Eyeshadows

ColourPop Jelly Much Eyeshadows

I don’t know… I’m just not interested in these eyeshadows at all. I’m more of a powder shadow girl, and though I do like their Super Shock shadows I’m not feeling the Jelly Much texture. I feel like I got super into colourpop, bought a ton of stuff and then just burned out. I need a break from new ColourPop products, the constant bombardment of products has exhausted me. These Jelly Much Eyeshadows also seem like they would be really hard to work with. Thoughts?

Urban Decay Elements Palette | Fall Makeup Anti-Haul

Urban Decay Elements Eyeshadow Palette

The shades in this palette look pretty but there are hardly any mattes in it. I also get annoyed how every trend in the beauty comunity has this domino effect. BH cosmetics had a zodiac palette, now it seems like every brand is lining up on the element/zodiac palette. I do really like my Zodiac Palette from ColourPop but I don’t want more than one palette in the same trend, y’know what I mean?

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette

I can see why someone might like this colourstory, it’s personally not for me. I love pink and red eyeshadow but against my pale skin it tends to make my eyes look almost bloodshot. Especially when I use reddish tones on my lower lash line I look like I’m sick.

Halo Beauty Kiwi Seed Booster | Fall Beauty Anti-Haul

Halo Beauty Kiwi Seed Booster

If shipping to Canada was actually an acceptable price and these vitamins weren’t ridiculously expensive I would be interested to try this. Many people are really slamming Tati over being a beauty YouTuber who’s releasing vitamins, like people actually think that she herself went into a lab, threw some stuff in a jar, shook it all up and put it in a bottle. NO. That’s NOT how these things work. She is the vision and the money behind halo beauty, but she has of course consulted with professional dermatologists and chemists to bring her vision to fruition. I’m not hating on Tati by anti-hauling the Kiwi Seed Booster, I just wish her products were actually affordable to someone who isn’t a millionaire.

Fourth Ray Beauty

Fourth Ray Beauty Skincare

For those of you who may not know, Fourth Ray Beauty is a new brand created by ColourPop’s founders. I’m skeptical of makeup brands creating skincare, and vice versa. One or the other is usually stronger. I normally love my ColourPop products but as I said above ColourPop pushes out their releases incredibly fast and if Fourth Ray does this I’m concerned about the quality of the products.

I also have reservations about buying “crystal infused” things. To be blunt… I personally think that the current spiritual crystal fad is nonsense. That’s my opinion, I get that lots of people believe in that stuff so I’m sorry if that offends you!

What are you not hauling these days?

Thanks for reading! Let me know what you have decided not to buy lately. Are any of these things on your list? Remember to like & subscribe <3

I also have zero interest in those jelly eyeshadows. I’m just not into working with a medium that is more difficult, just for the sake of it being different.
As soon as I saw that UD palette release announcement I rolled my eyes. And it’s not because of the zodiac/element theme. I’m still interested in that theme and am not totally sick of it yet. But seriously, that palette is just a glorified rainbow. It seems like no real thought went into curating the colour scheme. It’s just…a rainbow! No!
I am also not impressed at all with the Cherry palette. For one, where are the cherry colours? I’m also just over the monochromatic palettes that produce the same look over and over. I’ve decluttered both of my Naked palettes for that reason, and have learned my lesson for future purchases. I kind of feel like they wasted such a good theme too. I would love to buy some cherry-themed stuff (and I might still get a lipstick once I see what the shades are like; I love their special packaging, it’s a sickness), but the palette is so not cherry.
Honestly, ever since the whole initial launch debacle of Tati’s brand, I’ve lost all interest in her, which is so sad! I used to watch her every day, she always made me happier after watching a video of hers. And then I just stopped. I didn’t want to watch her videos. And I’m not altogether sure why. Probably mostly to do with how she handled the whole situation, and acted all scandalized that we wouldn’t trust her from the get-go and buy the supplements without any detailed explanation from her about the actual product. Overall, I’m definitely not interested in purchasing supplements. And it’s not because she has no authority on them. Clearly she is using verified professionals to create them. I just don’t care? And yeah, they are so expensive with the shipping!!

I completely agree, those Jelly shadows seem like an awful lot of effort…
It’s like they just threw every single colour in the element palette. I also want more mattes!
Yeah you’re right, it’s really more of a wine palette than a Cherry palette. The light shades in it don’t even look that different from each other. I’m sure that some people will love it but I can’t see myself reaching for it.

I still watch Tati and enjoy her videos but I’m totally not into overpriced vitamins. I can go to my grocery store and still be overwhelmed by the vitamin choice there, so there’s no real incentive to buy hers. I hope she comes out with skincare in the future!

      • September 17, 2018 / 11:57 pm

Even if Tati does come out with more products in the future that are actually interesting, I probably won’t purchase. I don’t like paying $13 USD for shipping unless I absolutely have to. And I like the option to return items.

Hmm good point. I guess we live in the wrong country lol

          • September 18, 2018 / 12:08 am

I only seem to think that when I’m shopping 😅

  2. September 6, 2018 / 10:23 pm

I like to see these kinds of posts because I usually am never in the loop when it comes to releases. At this point I’ve stopped giving a shit about what’s being released because like you said, some brand does something new and then other brands try to bank of the same concept. Ugh lol.
And the whole YouTuber beauty gurus releasing their own stuff….*sigh* 🙄 I get they want to make money but they forget who put them on the map to begin with. Their subscribers!,p it’s annoying when something is so over priced, like we get it, you need to make money but put your money into something we can actually buy. We’re not rich down here. Rant over sorry lol

I need to stop checking trendmood all the time, there’s like five new releases everyday it seems. And really my makeup collection is probably as diverse as it needs to be, I really don’t need more lol!
Agreed, If a beauty guru creates their own line I want it to be actually good and useful to their subscribers. Not something most of their following can’t afford and doesn’t want!

  3. September 6, 2018 / 2:11 pm

I agree about the jelly shadows from Colourpop. And you know I love me some Colourpop! You’re right, they do seem hard to work with.
As far as he urban decay palette, I get annoyed when there aren’t enough mattes too! Don’t give me a straight up shimmer palette!

    • AlwaysCleia
      September 8, 2018 / 9:55 pm

I can also imagine that it would be hard to keep the cat hair out of them. No matter how much I clean there’s cat hair everywhere 🙁
We need our mattes UD! Gosh, why don’t brands seem to get that.. I hate when all glitter or all shimmer palettes come out.

      • September 8, 2018 / 11:05 pm

Hahaha I didn’t even think about cat hair getting into them! 😱 I find cat hair in my Colourpop highlighters all the time! 😂 It really is impossible to clean it all!

  4. September 5, 2018 / 10:06 pm

Totally agreed with pretty much all of these! I am *kinda* interested in trying the Jelly Much eyeshadows because jelly, but I’m not all that interested in any of the shades. Like you said, the consistency might make it hard to work with, but it’s nice to see a new formula out there!

    • AlwaysCleia
      September 8, 2018 / 9:52 pm

Most of the Youtubers I watch have really liked the Jelly formula, so it can’t be bad! I feel like mine would get full of cat hair though xD

I realllllly like the cherry palette from UD, but that’s just because I’m obsessed with pink/red shades! Otherwise I pretty much agree on everything else. The Kiwi stuff annoys me, I don’t even know what Tati is doing anymore. 🙄

    • AlwaysCleia
      September 8, 2018 / 9:51 pm

If reds and pinks look good on you then go for it! I just know that reddish eyeshadow doesn’t look good on me 🙁
I just want Tati to release skincare or makeup, not vitamins!

Hahaha! Totally with you on the Urban Decay releases, they are known for setting trends and yet they are totally jumping on the bandwagon with their Elements collection. Kinda’ lame. I ordered a bottle of the Kiwi vitamins but shipping is WAY more reasonable to the US, I don’t know how she sells stuff outside of the US!

  7. September 5, 2018 / 12:22 am

The jelly shadows kinda gross me out, it would be like putting yoghurt or something on your eyelid! The Urban Decay Elements palette looks pretty but it’s not enough to create a complete look in it’s own. Again, the Cherry palette is pretty but like you I’m not the biggest fan of pink/red shadows on me.

    • AlwaysCleia
      September 8, 2018 / 9:50 pm

Yogurt on the eyelids sounds so gross! Definitely not appealing lol
I’m sure there are people out there who will love these palettes, they’re just not for me

  8. September 4, 2018 / 10:30 am

There were a few items in here that I not heard of…actually, I don’t think I’ve heard of any of these products except for the Urban decay elements palette. I completely understand why you didn’t buy any of those products. I bought a few things this time around too, and it was predominately skincare products that I needed to buy cause I had run out of the previous product I was using. Great post, can’t wait to see what you bought in the sale! xxx

I just have too much makeup now, there’s so much pressure to buy all the latest products as a blogger but I can’t justify it when I have so much already. A release has to be really good for me to splurge now! Thanks for reading xx

  9. September 4, 2018 / 10:27 am

I completely agree on the topic of crystal-infused products. It seems more like a marketing ploy than anything. I actually really like the idea of crystal-inspired eyeshadow palettes or something of that nature, but not so much in my skincare. Fun post!

    • AlwaysCleia
      September 6, 2018 / 4:02 pm

Oh yes, crystal inspired tones and palettes are great! I’m just not into the “crystal infused” type of products 😄 Thanks for reading!

  10. September 4, 2018 / 8:42 am

I am currently hating on colourpop because they keep releasing new stuff, it’s so overwhelming, I can’t keep up and I have not heard about their new skincare brand, I am curious but skeptical like you. Nice post btw, I enjoyed reading xx

    • AlwaysCleia
      September 6, 2018 / 4:00 pm

There’s way too many releases, I’m tired of trying to keep up too. I hope some reviews go up of fourth ray soon, maybe it will actually be good!

  11. September 4, 2018 / 8:42 am

I am no longer interested in buying things from Too Faced, I feel strongly that since they were bought by Estee Lauder they literally just pump products out for the sake of it, that aren’t even good quality either! TF is definately an anti haul for me! x – themakeupbybeth

I completely forgot that Estee Lauder owns them. I used to love their products but lately I’ve been unimpressed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! xx
