Fresh Sugar Lip Prep ‘N’ Paint Value Set Review

Fresh Sugar Lip Prep N PaintI can’t even tell you guys how long I’ve been wanting to try out the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments. The problem was they’re so expensive that I couldn’t justify paying full price for them. For Christmas I received the Fresh Sugar Lip Prep ‘N’ Paint set which includes two lip treatments as well as some other products I hadn’t tried before. Thank you so much to my family for the wonderful gift! Onto the review…

At A Glance

The Fresh Sugar Lip Prep N Paint set is sold at Sephora for $47CAD. It contains a Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, Lip Serum, two Sugar Lip Treatments and a Sugar Lip Cream Treatment. All are deluxe sample sizes.

Fresh Sugar Lip Prep N Paint

Packaging

The packaging for this set is so cute! It looks like it was designed with Valentines Day in mind despite the fact that it’s been around for a while and was bought in December. I wanted this set for the products, not so much the little pencils and roll up colouring paper that are also included. The packaging gets a 10/10 from me!

Fresh Sugar Lip Prep N Paint Lip Serum & Polish

Fresh Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy 0.16oz $24.54

The problem with serum samples is that they are often too small to tell if they make a difference in my skin. This serum however is a great size for sampling purposes. It’s just over half of the full size product! I only need a tiny amount to coat my entire lips and it absorbs incredibly fast. My lips are usually dry and I’ve had a few cold sores since December (my body doesn’t want to not be sick) but when my lips are “normal” I find it helps alleviate dryness in conjunction with other products. I wouldn’t use it on it’s own, and I probably won’t run out and buy it full size but I would use it again if I got it in a value set.

Fresh Sugar Lip Polish 0.28oz $13.53

This lip scrub is just under half of the full size product. I recently tried out the Bite Beauty Agave Kisses Set which contained a sugar scrub, and I prefer this Fresh scrub more. Not because the agave scrub is bad, but because this one has a little bit more grit to it. I find the Bite Beauty scrub granules tend to disappear in the moisturizing suspension that it’s in (if that makes any sense). This lip polish does more of what a scrub should do and is less messy because I’m not slathering the product all over to get to the granules. It also doesn’t taste bad like the Bite scrub!

Fresh Sugar Lip Prep N Paint - Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rosé 0.07oz $13.53

This product and the next are what I was the most excited to try. They didn’t disappoint! Both are around half the full size. I’m hesitant to use them because they’re so expensive but they really do glide on easily and the formula seems to melt into my lips. This lip treatment contains grapeseed oil and vitamins C & E. I really don’t notice a difference in colour on my lips between the sheer Rosé and the lip treatment below. The packaging took me a few minutes to figure out, the cap screws on and off instead of popping off like a normal lip balm. Fancy!

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment 0.07oz $14.93

I was convinced at first that this product was the same as the one above. With further research I learned that it’s actually more of a targeted lip therapy product. They apply and feel the same to me, but this is supposed to help target lip wrinkles and dryness with the help of sea fennel (also known as Crithmum). I couldn’t find a lot of info on the plant in terms of skincare properties but I learned that it contains vitamins A, C, and E and is often used in acne fighting and anti-aging skincare. Fresh Sugar Lip Prep N Paint- Cream Lip Treatment

Fresh Sugar Cream Lip Treatment 0.16 oz $14.06

I was worried that this would be a lip “butter”, which in my experiences don’t work well for me. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it has the consistency of a gel/cream lip balm and has a shiny, almost metallic sheen to it. I’m not sure if this really “treats” my lips, but it feels moisturizing and looks pretty when worn!

Fresh Sugar Lip Prep N Paint Set

Value

This set totalled up to $80.59CAD not including the pencils and random colouring paper. Sephora claims an $82 value, which is probably accurate adding those in. I find you really need to total up the values yourself because sometimes they are waaay off from Sephora’s estimations! I’m happy with an $80 value though. If I had paid for the set instead of receiving it for Christmas I would still be happy with it. I’ve been loving trying out these Fresh products!

I loved this review! I love love Fresh products, and you know I love their tinted balms. I definitely am not a fan of their prices, but at least the quality is there! Beautiful pictures as always xx

Thanks Nova! I’ve only tried one product from fresh that I didn’t like, and that was their rose face mask. Everything else has been amazing for me! I wish it was more affordable too, I would buy everything 😄

Yeah I’m not convinced the rose face mask does anything! However, I love love their Rose Eye Gel! I’ll probably do a review on that soon 🙂

I’ll read it if you do, I haven’t tried the rose eye gel!

Hi, I just followed you on Instagram! I love the way you write. Your posts are always interesting. I’m so cheap when it comes to beauty products but this kit looks so cute!!! I could do with some lip therapy too, I live in Florida and one day it’s hot the next day it’s cold. Loved this post x

Awww thanks so much! I followed you back ☺
Believe me, I am too. It takes me a year to make up my mind about buying anything over $10 😅 I love the sugar lip therapy, I’m in Alberta and it’s been so dry here! Thanks for reading ❤

I love all of fresh’s products, I just wish that they weren’t so pricey! I have tried the two lip treatments and love them. I’ve gotten a lot of cleanser samples, and I love them. They’re so gentle on my skin, and it’s just so amazing. I recently got a sample of the rose face mask but I haven’t had the chance to try it out yet, so hopefully I like it! I’ll probably eventually give in and buy some of their products, aha! Great post cleia xxx

Ugh, me too! I only ever buy Fresh products as a treat and even then only the mini sizes.
The soy cleanser is amazing! It’s my HG but I can’t buy it all the time cause the full size is sooo expensive haha
Let me know if you like the face mask!
      Thanks for reading Melina!! xx

The packaging is adorable! The pencil crayons and colouring paper are kind of random, but it’s a cute idea. This set would make a nice Valentine’s Day present haha.

I tried the Sugar Lip Treatment in Rosé and the uncoloured one (that isn’t the Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment) and while I LOVED that sweet lemony scent and the texture of the lip balm, it wasn’t quite moisturizing enough on my lips to justify the price of a full size. The packaging is stunning, though.

Good to know that the lip scrub is pretty good! I’m always looking for a good lip scrub that isn’t overly expensive.

I know adult colouring books are a big thing but colouring stresses me out because I feel the need to make everything absolutely perfect haha.

That’s fair! With any lip balm I need to apply multiple times throughout the day, including with these ones. Though I love the texture I don’t think I’d buy one full size ether, $29 is waaay too much for a lip balm!

I like the scrub a lot! Maybe try a sample next time you’re in Sephora? It’s still more expensive than lush scrubs though 🙁

I’ve been wanting to try this! I love argan oil in a stick for my lip treatment. I also scrub with Perfectly Posh lemon scrub!

    • January 20, 2018 / 8:48 pm

I didn’t know you could get argan oil in a stick! I love anything lemon 🙂

        • January 20, 2018 / 9:05 pm

oh cool! I’ll keep that in mind when I’m looking for a new lip treatment 🙂
