I bought some ColourPop!

Hi friends! It has been a looong time since I shared a ColourPop Haul on my blog. The last time was when I picked up the baby Yoda palette in January of 2021. Honestly I find the constant releases to be a bit overwhelming and I realized I had to stop trying to review every palette that came around. For a while there seemed to be pressed glitter shades in every release, which is another reason I stopped buying. But then…

I bought some ColourPop!

Fast forward to April 2022, ColourPop released the Heart of Stone eyeshadow palette set which included two absolutely gorgeous neutral palettes! Since the pandemic my makeup tastes have become quite neutral (see my pandemic makeup routine!), so everyday shades are now right up my alley. I placed an order on release day for the Twist of Slate and Set in Stone palettes, plus a few other things. Let’s dive into the haul!

ColourPop Twist of Slate Palette

I have to say, I am definitely team cool tones over warm tones these days. I know I’m in the minority but I love grey toned shadows, especially when paired with some taupey shimmers. I’m really excited about the shade Carbon and I cannot wait to play around with this palette!

Makeup lovers on social media have mentioned that the shades in both palettes were similar to some of the mega palettes that have come out recently, and while I can see the similarities I prefer these smaller palettes. Personally I don’t really find myself reaching for giant palettes, and most of them contain pressed glitter shades that I have no interest in using. I think these smaller palettes will be easier to use and put together a makeup look in the morning without a lot of effort or humming and hawing over the options.

ColourPop Set in Stone Palette

The Set in Stone palette is full of beautiful orange and bronze shades. It reminds me a lot of the Double Entendre Palette, one of my OG ColourPop favourites. I didn’t realize this prior to buying, but each palette contains a brand new creme shadow. I’m excited to play with them, it reminds me of the Huda palettes that contained one creme shadow/concealer shade that I think was meant to be used as a primer? I am planning on reviewing both palettes with a classic one palette three looks blog post, so if you love ColourPop make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss it!

ColourPop Eyeshadow Palettes, Glowing Lip, Lip Tint, Lip Creme, Hyaluronic Concealer

ColourPop Hyaluronic Concealer

I picked one of these concealers up in defiance of the Sephora sale when the concealer I wanted from LYS sold out in my shade before the VIB portion of the sale even started. Instead of buying something more expensive I decided to go with a cheaper option. This is my first time trying this concealer. I did try the No Filter Concealer a few years ago and while I liked the No Filter formula it’s not the most hydrating especially if you have dry skin.

I’ve been using this one for the last few days and while I’m still making up my mind about it my first impressions are good!

ColourPop Serum Blush

Ok you guys this blush is GORGEOUS! I tried my first cream blush last year and I really liked it, but now that I’ve tried these serum blushes I don’t think I can go back. This blush formula is incredible for dry skin, it gives you a beautiful glow without there actually being any shimmer in it. The formula is just super dewy and hydrating. I still need to test out the longevity, but I really like this blush so far! The shade I got is called Hotline, I will definitely be picking up others the next time I place an order at ColourPop.

Fresh Kiss Lip Creme in Cornerstone

I’m really excited about this lipstick shade! It’s a beautiful brown toned nude shade. I used to buy pink and coral lipsticks before I realized that I feel more like myself in shades with a brown undertone. Pink just isn’t me! This lipstick formula contains Vitamin E, Maracuja Superfruit Oil and Vitamin C.

When my order arrived I realized that this shade is actually a lot lighter than it looked online, it’s definitely more of a your lips but better shade in person than a bold statement.

ColourPop Lip Tints

Glowing Lip in Indulge Me & Lippie Tint in Cherry Pickin’

Another brown toned lipstick, I chose the Glowing Lip Formula because I was curious to see how it differs from the Lippie Tints from ColourPop. They sound really similar, I’m looking forward to doing a comparison! Speaking of the ColourPop Lippie Tints I also picked up my favourite shade Cherry Pickin’. I finished this shade right before the world went to hell in 2020 and have been wanting to restock ever since, it’s one of my favourite lip products. Just check out my original review!

What’s your favourite ColourPop Product?

It’s always fun to play with new makeup but I try not to buy new products too often. I’ve been focusing more on skincare content, but I’ll definitely be sharing reviews of both eyeshadow palettes VERY SOON!! Let me know which one you’d like to see reviewed first! 😉

It’s been a while since I’ve bought any makeup. I’ve only been restocking my esssentials like Mascara! I stocked up on some Bite Beauty mascaras because they’re going out of business. I’m curious about the blushes though, unfortunately I have a few blushes to go through. Great post xx
