Jouer Cosmetics Blush Bouquet in Adore Review

I FINALLY got my hands on one of the gorgeous blush bouquet duos from Jouer. I’ve been trying to hold back on a lot of high end purchases and only bought three things in the most recent Sephora VIB sale. I couldn’t resist picking up the Jouer Blush Bouquet in Adore though, the blushes are so subtle and pretty.

Normally I don’t get super excited for blush. It’s one of the least exciting products for me so I surprised myself when I found myself dreaming of the Adore Jouer blush duo. I don’t know if it’s the packaging, or the shades of blush but something about it speaks to me!

I also picked up the Saturday Skin Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream during the sale. My review is Here!

Jouer Blush Bouquet Review in Adore

Jouer Blush Bouquet Review | Adore

The Jouer Blush Bouquet Duos retail for $38CAD and contain 0.39oz or 11g of product ($3.45/g). The value is actually amazing compared to other midrange brands on the market. Compared to blush singles the Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Blush retails at $6.79/g, the Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Blush retails for $6.47/g, and the Mac Powder Blush retails at $4.66/g.

There aren’t a lot of blush duos at Sephora to compare to. Compared to duos the Cover FX Monochromatic Blush Duos retail at $3.24/g (cheaper!) and the NARS blush duo is $11.2/g (not surprised). The Cover FX is the only blush that compares well in value to the Jouer Blush Bouquets.

They come in four different shade variations, three of which are matte and one of which contains a shimmer. The Blush Bouquet that I am reviewing today is the Jouer Adore Blush Bouquet! Adore is definitely the peachiest duo and contains the most muted/nude blush shades. The Blush Bouquet duos are paraben free and contain vitamin E.

*Jouer is Cruelty Free.

Jouer Blush Duo in Adore
Left to Right: Adore Me & Hold Me

The packaging of the Jouer Blush Bouquets has my heart! My soul even, it’s THAT freaking pretty. I was a little taken aback when I got my VIB sale order in the mail because the cardboard packaging is almost double the size of the compact itself. It made the blushes look tiny taking them out of the giant box!

The palette is made out of a plastic which is coated to look like metal. Unfortunately that does make the packaging feel a little bit cheap but on the bright side the plastic is sturdy and heavy so it kind of negates the fact that it’s plastic. The lid of the Adore blush bouquet is white with floral trim and a simple “Jouer” printed in the middle. It looks quite lux in all my photos!

I love the simple Jouer logo printed in the middle of the powders. I really like when brands put a design or logo on a blush/bronzer/highlighter because it’s a way that I can gauge how much I’ve used it. It’s super helpful for project pans since I don’t actually weight my products each month.

Adore Jouer Blush Bouquet

I don’t think that the Jouer Adore Blush Bouquet would work for skin tones that are much darker than mine. The shade Adore Me might be okay but Hold Me is very light, even on my skin tone. It’s a nice shade for a blush but I have to build it up even on my pale skin.

Adore me is much deeper but I don’t need to be too careful applying it because it’s still on the lighter side. I love that there’s a peach shade to pair with the lighter petal pink. I often mix my brush into both shades when I use this duo and the result is a beautiful peachy pink.

Even though I do need to do a bit of building with these powders they blend beautifully on top of foundation and even bare skin. The Adore duo is completely matte. I don’t see any shimmer on my skin from this blush so if you’re looking for luminosity I would try the Jouer Rose Gold Blush Bouquet.

I also didn’t find that the shade Hold Me wore all day long. Because its so light I found I couldn’t even see it on my cheeks at the end of the day. Adore me lasted longer and was able to make it through my work day with no problems.

Jouer Adore Blush Bouquet

Bottom Line

Even though I lusted over the Jouer Blush Bouquets for months and months when I finally had one my excitement died a little bit. I guess a blush will always be just a blush to me. I knew that I don’t get as excited for blushes as I do bronzers or highlighters, but for some reason I really thought this time would be different. They’re beautiful and I’m glad that I treated myself, but I don’t think I’d do it again with a higher end blush.

  • Beautiful Packaging
  • You get a ton of product for $38!
  • Both blushes build up & blend out well
  • Adore Me wears all day.

  • Hold Me is subtle and unlikely to show up on darker skin tones
  • Hold Me isn’t as long wearing as Adore Me
  • Both shades are similar. They complement each other well but if you are wanting two different shades this ain’t it.

Don’t mind the peachy matte palette, I was filming! I’m wearing the Hold Me blush here.

Jouer Blush Bouquet Adore Review

While they all look super pretty, I’m not sure if I would like these, mainly because you said that they wouldn’t work well on skin tones darker than yours. I’m been branching away from powder blushes recently and have purchased a few cream blushes and I’ve fallen in love! I think it adds so much to someone’s makeup routine when they add some! Great post Cleia xxx

That’s the problem with this one! There are three or four different duos available that would probably work better for deeper skin tones but unfortunately this is the only matte duo πŸ™ Which cream blushes are you using right now? I’ve been hearing amazing things about the Glossier ones but I still haven’t found a cream blush I like πŸ˜„

      • July 5, 2019 / 5:25 pm

I’m using the nudestix and I have this one cream blush from Too Faced that I’ve been in love with! I’m dying to try out the one from Colourpop, because Kathleen loved them! I hope you find your prefect cream blush, because I don’t know where I would be without it?!

        • July 6, 2019 / 12:15 am

I guess I’ll need to keep looking!
I still haven’t watched Kathleen’s review of the ColourPop cream blushes, it’s on my watch list. I’m glad she liked them!
If I ever do find a cream blush I like I’ll be sure to let you know πŸ™‚

Gosh yessss the packaging can have my soul, too. It really is that freakin’ pretty. I can’t believe it’s plastic though– it doesn’t look like it at all? & I agree about blushes not being that exciting!

    • June 7, 2019 / 2:30 pm

It’s the most gorgeous packaging! And least I am 90% sure that it’s plastic, it doesn’t have the weight to it that a sturdier material would have :S
I wish that blushes were more exciting for me! I watch some youtubers that looove blush and I just don’t get it lol thanks for reading!

  3. May 27, 2019 / 1:02 pm

Blushes are gorgeous and I love them but I don’t see myself splurging for any only because I know I’ll be stuck on one for a long time and others wont get as much love lol.
Too bad that you have to build it up so much and it still didn’t last all day. Youd think being a high end blush, it would perform well.
This one wouldn’t be for me either,.I’m a little bit darker than you are I think and light blushes usually never show up on my skin tone anyway.

    • May 29, 2019 / 9:18 pm

I probably won’t splurge on blush again tbh, the packaging is beautiful but I kind of regretted it afterwards. Blush is kind of boring to me!
I wish the lighter blush had lasted longer too, for the price you’d think that it would :S
      Thanks for reading!

      • May 30, 2019 / 9:17 am

I’m starting to warm up to blush, but yeah compared to everything else it is pretty boring lol.

  4. May 26, 2019 / 12:39 pm

Great review! Wow, what gorgeous packaging and beautiful shades! Never tried much from Jouer yet. I’m pretty pale too, and while I love the look of those shades, after reading your review I’d probably go for something darker. I’m a real fan of blush, and I can’t be without it in my stash!

    • May 29, 2019 / 9:15 pm

Thank you! The packaging is so pretty. I love that Jouer is now sold in stores at Sephora instead of just online. The Rose Gold duo would probably be my second choice from them! Thanks for reading πŸ™‚

      • May 30, 2019 / 7:42 pm

Yea, me too! I do most of my makeup shopping in store so I always get excited when an online brand makes the leap into retail.

  5. May 25, 2019 / 11:39 pm

Thanks for the review, this was really helpful! I haven’t been able to see this in person, but always had a feeling that Hold Me would be too light for my skin tone, and I think your review confirmed it. It’d be nice if they came out with a neutral duo like this one that was a little darker! Hold Me looks really pretty on you despite how subtle it is.

    • May 29, 2019 / 9:12 pm

I’m glad! It’s a shame how light that blush is, I think if I had even a few undertones darker in my skin tone it wouldn’t work for me πŸ™ Did you see the new Cheeky Summer blush duo?

      • May 30, 2019 / 8:15 am

Oooh, I knew Jouer had a new summer collection coming out, but I didn’t even notice the blush duo until you mentioned it! The shades are SUPER pretty, but they would have been perfect if the darker one was matte! Nothing wrong with a shimmery blush, but it’s just not what I’m looking for right now.

        • June 2, 2019 / 3:34 pm

I hope they expand more to give the you matte duo you’re looking for! With all the constant releases I’m sure you’ll find something soon πŸ™‚

  6. May 24, 2019 / 11:20 am

your makeup in that picture 😍 i like that you included a pro & cons list!! i’m definitely more of a drugstore blush type of girl, but these are so pretty & that packaging omgggggg

    • May 29, 2019 / 8:58 pm

Thank you! I’m trying out including lists in posts, I’m glad you liked it!
The packaging is everything. I don’t know that I would splurge on blush again though, I’ve never had a poor performing blush from the drugstore so it’s a good place to save some money.
      Thanks for reading!

      • May 30, 2019 / 10:51 am

i’m definitely a fan of buying drugstore blush!! it’s the perfect place to save some money & milani luminoso is my religion lol πŸ’–

        • June 2, 2019 / 5:12 pm

I still haven’t tried Milani blushes, I need to get on that ASAP!

          • June 3, 2019 / 12:16 pm
