First things first, I wanted to address the lack of posts this week. My work schedule has been all over the place. I was on was 11am-8pm shift for most of last week. I find that it’s such an odd shift, In the morning I would get up around 9, have breakfast and coffee, do my makeup and get ready for work, and before I knew it I was heading out the door. When I got home around 830 I still needed to workout and cook dinner, and by the time I had any downtime it was 10pm! I know I could have gotten up earlier, but I’m not a morning person so I felt forcing myself awake to churn out a few blog posts wouldn’t be in my or my readers’ best interests. Things will be going back to normal this week!
As far as empties go, I really didn’t get very far this month, but that’s okay with me this time. I didn’t really buy any new makeup or skin care this month, so I’m not taking in more than I’m using.
Nexxus Finishing Mist I don’t really use hair product too often, but I started using a light hair spray this summer because, A, I have had this bottle sitting around since last Fall, and B, my hair is at the length now where it looks dishevelled halfway through my day without styling products, Repurchase? Not right now. I have a few more little bottles of styling products I need to use up first.
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask I got about four uses out of this little tube. Pretty good huh? I have mixed feelings on this one. I didn’t like the way it felt in my hair, it felt… slippery? I don’t know how to describe it. On the flip side, it made my hair noticeable softer with one use, so it clearly worked. Repurchase? No, only because m hair is pretty healthy and typically doesn’t need deep conditioning.
Cocoa Pink Soft Bubbles Sugar Scrub in Blackberry Lime Noel My brother ordered linen spray from Cocoa Pink and they sent him a few samples from their bath & body skincare line, which he then passed onto me. His words were “I don’t know how to use a scrub so you can have it”. Cocoa pink has some really great scents. While this isn’t the most “fun” scent I have seen on their website (think “Zombie Apocalypse” scented perfume), Blackberry Lime Noel smells pretty nice. What I do need to say is that this scrub is harsh. So harsh that it made my arms and legs feel amazing, but my hands were rubbed raw from applying. Repurchase? No, BUT I will purchase their perfumes and body washes.
The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiaré Shower Gel I’m always happy when I finish a shower gel. This one is the perfect scent for summer. It’s floral notes make me want to go to the polynesian islands even more now! Repurchase? YES, when I finish a few more shower gel bottles in my cupboard.
Garnier Micellar Water This is a great Makeup Remover. It’s refreshing, gentle, and can remove foundation, lipstick, eyeshadow, and mascara. I haven’t tried the waterproof makeup remover as I don’t really use waterproof mascara or eyeliner, but I’ve heard that this version is much better. Repurchase? Not immediately, I want to see what else is out there.
Natura Ekos Castanha Hand Cream This was a gift from a family friend who lives in Brazil. She brought me this hand cream and I loved it so much! It’s very moisturizing and smell amazing. Unfortunately the only place I can buy it is amazon.com, not amazon.ca. My mother in law had a spare though, so she gave it to me when she found out how much I loved it. Repurchase? Not immediately, but yes.
Sephora Pomegranate Cleansing Cream You can read my review here, but I don’t have much good to say about this cleanser. I think a lot of people felt that way, as this was a new Sephora release and they were discounted to $5 (50% off) pretty quickly. Repurchase? Not a chance.
Pur~Lisse Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30 This moisturizer came in the 2016 Summer FabFitFun box. I really liked it, It has kept my face from burning this summer and didn’t cause any break outs. Unfortunately it’s expensive buying directly from Pur~lisse without a discount code. Repurchase? No, solely because of the price.
Lancome Visionnaire Eye Cream This was a deluxe sample from my last Sephora order. It’s incredibly moisturizing so I recommend it before bed if you can justify the price, but it didn’t really reduce dark circles under my eyes when I applied as part of my daytime routine. Repurchase? No, I can’t afford it!
Julep Freedom Polymer Top Coat Julep’s Freedom Polymer top coat came in my December 2016 Julep Beauty Box. It lasted quite a while, what with me doing my nails pretty much every four days. It didn’t really wow me though, and I’ve since found a top nail coat that I like more. Repurchase? No.
