If you follow my blog regularly you’ll know that I took a week off posting here to visit relatives in the United States. It was a short trip, I was only in Arizona for four days but it was a nice visit. I was also excited because I had ordered some KL Polishes to my relative’s home. KL Polish no longer ships to Canada so picking it up in the US was one of my only options. And of course I had to do some shopping, I couldn’t resist a little Ulta Haul!
We have Sephora in Canada but I wish we could trade it for Ulta. Ulta has so many brands that we don’t have up here and a lot more selection in terms of drugstore products. I felt like a kid on Christmas Morning when I first entered the store and I probably could have wandered for several hours if I was on my own. I couldn’t bring too much back to Canada with me on the plane because I wasn’t checking a bag. Unfortunately this limited me to travel sizes but it did help keep my shopping in check. Want to see what I picked up in my KL Polish & Ulta Haul? Keep Reading!
KL Polish Haul
If you are unfamiliar with KL Polish the brand was created by YouTuber Kathleen Lights. I’ve watched her for a few years and I love the collections she’s put out since starting her nail polish brand. I picked up three shades from the most recent KL Polish Launches, the Zodiac and Fall In The City Collections.
Jane is a beautiful rich pink. I don’t have anything quite like it in my polish collection. The polish November is the closest thing, which I wrote about in my KL Polish Haul earlier this year.
1435 is a muted medium blue. It’s similar to the Cozy in There polish but a bit darker. This polish was a little streaky when I applied it, it needed two and a half coats to be opaque.
Scorpio is my new favourite polish. It’s a deep almost metallic red with a black flip to it. Scorpio is my Zoadiac sign and though I don’t buy into astrology I do find this nail polish to be stunning.
SNP Animal Cat Face Sheet Mask
I saw these animal sheet masks at Ulta and knew that I had to try one. First of all, there’s CATS! I’m a crazy cat lady, I have cat mugs, cat clothes, cat blankets… and now a cat sheet mask. I have no idea if it’s any good, but the cuteness of it will make up for it if it’s not.
Zoella Fizz Bar
I wish that I could find Zoella products in Canada. I’ve heard that they’re supposedly sold at London Drugs but I’ve never seen them there. I wanted to try her bath latte and shower sauce but there weren’t any in travel friendly sizes. This Fizz bar was my compromise.
I’ve heard amazing things about Hempz lotions. I would have loved to take home a full sized bottle but of course this size was all my carry on would accommodate. Hempz is available in Canada but I bought it anyways. I was using left over cash from when I travelled to Coasta Rica & Panama earlier this year and it felt more guilt free buying it with my US cash than putting it on my debit card at home.
I didn’t get a photograph of this one, my makeup sponge mysteriously disappeared a few weeks ago (I blame my cats) so I was planning on picking up an RT Sponge while away. I started using it immediately, I wasn’t even thinking about getting photos at the time. RT Sponges are so soft! I wasn’t happy with the Ocean Crush sponges I hauled in the Sephora April VIB Sale so I’m really glad to have a replacement for them.
This is my first MAC product EVER. I know, it’s hard to believe that I’ve run a beauty blog for three years and never tried anything from them, but it’s true. Velvet Teddy has been on my list for a long time. It’s one of the most talked about MAC lipsticks in the blogging community so when I saw that MAC released a mini of Velvet Teddy for $10 I had to pick one up. Part of my hesitation with buying it before now is that I can never use up full sized lipsticks so it feels wasteful to buy them. Sephora Canada also has this mini but it’s only available online.
I liked this concealer so much when I picked it up online in my Makeup Revolution Haul last month that I wanted to line up a replacement. I’m almost through that tube already, concealers go so fast for me. I chose the lightest shade this time, C1.
