Makeup Revolution Haul | Emily The Wants Palette, Soph Extra Spice Palette + More

Hey everyone, as you can expect from the title of this post today we are doing a Makeup Revolution Haul! I don’t actually understand why Revolution has so many different names. There’s Makeup Revolution, Revolution Pro, Revolution Beauty… It’s confusing is what it is. In this Makeup Revolution Haul I picked up two eyeshadow palettes, a foundation and a concealer. I can’t wait to share it with you guys!

Makeup Revolution Haul - $35 Mystery Bag

My Main Makeup Revolution Haul

I picked up four products from Makeup Revolution/Revolution Beauty and because I spent over $35 I got a free mystery surprise bag. I love surprises! Let’s talk about the products I chose for myself first…

Makeup Revolution Emily The Wants Palette

Revolution X Emily Noel | The Wants Palette

When I saw Emily Noel’s announcement video where she revealed that she was taking on a collaboration with Makeup Revolution I was so excited! Emily Noel is one of the most genuine people I watch on youtube, I’m so happy she was given this opportunity! I strongly debated ordering the Revolution X Emily The Needs palette but in the end I decided that I didn’t want a full face and eye palette. The Wants palette stood out more to me, I will be uploading a swatch video and blog post very soon.

The Emily Noel The Wants Palette is, for one thing, huge. There are so many shades in this palette I don’t even know how to store it. I can’t wait to play with this beauty! If you guys can’t tell, I updated my blog props for Fall. i’m loving the orange but let me know what you think.

Makeup Revolution Soph Extra Spice Palette

Revolution X Soph Does Nails | Extra Spice Palette

The Extra Spice Palette caught my eye as I was about to add Emily’s palette to my cart. The yellows and oranges are so pretty, and I can’t get over the silver! It’s like pumpkin spice and holiday rolled into one palette! I’ve already filmed my first impressions video. Let me tell you: I am impressed with the Revolution Soph Extra Spice Palette.

Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation

Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation

I wanted to try the Fast Base Foundation Stick after Melina recommended it to me. Many products that work for her also work for me, we have a similar skin type so it’s not really a surprise. This is my alternative to the Hourglass stick foundation. I tested a sample of it and loved it but it’s way too expensive. Hopefully this Revolution foundation stick works just as well! I’ve only worn it twice so far but so far so good!

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer and Contour

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer and Contour

Hey! Makeup Brands! Yeah you, I’m talking to you. Please stop giving your products ridiculously long names. Melina also recommended this concealer to me. I’m glad I tried it, I like it so far! It’s very affordable which I’m all about lately. It does a much better job at spot concealing than the Tarte Aquacealer, it’s thicker and provides more coverage.

Makeup Revolution Goodie Bag!!

I love surprises. I avoid spoilers like the plague in most things, like books, subscription boxes… (well, I usually peak and one or two subscription box spoilers but I still want at least one or two surprises). For spending over $35 I got a free $35 value Revolution Beauty mystery bag and I must say there were some pretty good products in there (aside from a silicone sponge that I’m not even going to talk about because silicone sponges are awful).

Makeup Revolution Ultra Base Corrector Palette

Makeup Revolution Ultra Base Corrector Palette

I was kind of hoping for an eyeshadow palette, but I will be happy with a colour correcting concealer palette too! I already have the Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting Kit but cream concealer tends to get gross pretty fast so I’m happy to have a colour correcting replacement for that one.

The Ultra Base Corrector Palette contains 8 colour correcting shades. Here’s what they do according to MUR:

“Pink – Brightens
Lavender – neutralizes yellow tones
Green – neutralizes redness
Orange – neutralizes blue tones
Peach – helps to balance out slight discolouration
White – adds natural highlight and brightens
Cream – neutralizes purple & covers dark areas
Brown – balances ashiness in medium to dark skin tones”

Revolution Lightening Contour Kit

This Lightening Contour kit was a little odd. It’s not something that I would use to contour with. The darkest shade in the pan looks like a blush on my skin tone so if I contoured with it I would look swollen. There’s a lighter powder which I thought was a highlighter, but it has barely any visible glow to it so I’m confused. There’s also a cream highlighter and I hate having cream and powder products in the same compact, it gets very messy very quick.

Makeup Revolution Freedom Pro Bronzer in Warm Lights

Makeup Revolution Freedom Pro Bronzer in Warm Lights

I freaking LOVE this Revolution Pro Bronzer! This is the perfect bronzer for pale skin, there’s a combo of three different shades in this Freedom Bronzer and when I mix them all together it gives me the most gorgeous matte glow. I’m going to have to experiment with all three shades separately but as a whole I love it.

I Heart Revolution Lip Lava Lipstick

I Heart Revolution Lip Lava Lipstick

I always expect liquid lipsticks to be matte so it threw me off that this lip lava liquid lipstick was on the sheer & creamy side. It has one of those plush applicators like the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, so I wonder if this is supposed to be a dupe? This lipstick retails for $2 and is in the shade Forgiven.

Revolution Freedom Makeup London Pro Lipstick

Revolution Freedom Makeup London Pro Lipstick

I don’t have a single shade like this, I love that instead of just sending nude shades this Revolution Beauty goodie bag had some fun shades to get me out of my comfort zone. There’s no pressure when it’s free! This light pink shade Tell Your Friends isn’t something I would have chose for myself but I’m going to challenge myself to create a look using this lipstick.

Revolution Iconic Pro Lipstick No Perfection Yet

Revolution Iconic Pro Lipstick

This Revolution Iconic Pro lipstick is a beautiful pink berry shade! I prefer matte to cream lipsticks but I like this shade No Perfection Yet so much that I’ll try wearing it. The packaging of this Iconic Pro lipstick is lovely with the shiny gold capsule but because it lacks weight it feels cheap to me. Hmm…

Have you ever ordered from Revolution Beauty and what is your favourite affordable makeup brand?

Wow there are so many amazing products! The palettes are so beautiful, I’m still debating on whether or not I want to buy them but let’s see haha! I love their concealer as well. I have to re-try their foundation stick, since a lot of people who have dry skin are raving about it and I hadn’t really liked it the first time I tried it. Fab post as always x

It was overwhelming shopping on MUR’s website, they have so many products and palettes to choose from! It’s hard to pick just one or two…
I like the foundation stick so far, I don’t think it will become a HG product for me but I will absolutely use it all up. I hope you like it if you do re-try it. Thanks for reading! xx

I’m so glad to hear that you liked the foundation stick! I’m almost done with mine, and I bought it at the beginning of the summer! I’m dying to now try the define & conceal foundation, which is supposed to be a lighter formula of the concealer! I loved the concealer, so I hope I like the foundation. As I mentioned in your extra spice palette review, I actually added it to my wish list on Ulta today, and will probably get it in the next month or so, so I’m super glad you like it so much. I would love to see the Emily wants palette though! Can’t wait for that review to come out πŸ™‚ xxx

It was a good recommendation! I really like the finish, even if it’s not quite the same as the hourglass one.
I heard that they released a new foundation! I hope you love it since you like the concealer so much! So far I’m liking the concealer too πŸ™‚
My emily review is coming soon, hopefully by the end of the week/weekend depending on how much time I have tomorrow to create one more look for the post. I have two done so far, I can’t wait to share! xx

Emily is definitely so deserving of a collab. She’s so amazing and genuine. I’m so happy for her that she finally got a collab. And the wants palette looks so good. I’ll be sure to check out the extra spice palette as well but I do want to try the concealer because some have said it’s a dupe to the tarte shape tape?
Anyway, makeup revolution has been on my list for a LONG time I’m truly hoping I can splurge a bit for my birthday month and get a ton of things lol.

Her release video was so touching to watch! I can tell that she makes videos because she’s truly passionate about it, and not for any extra personal gain. I think she owed it to herself to finally work on a collab!
I still enjoyed the Extra Spice palette more but I think she did a good job with the wants palette πŸ™‚

  4. October 4, 2018 / 8:20 pm

That’s awesome that your order came with such a big bag of goodies! Although to be honest, I’m not sure how excited I would be about those items. Probably because I’m in a place where I want my collection to be curated, and not just large. But the bronzer does look perfect for the winter months!

      October 4, 2018 / 10:06 pm

I think I was more excited about the fact that they were free! It’s fun testing products without worrying about how much you paid for them. I didn’t show the contour kit in my photos but it was awful, it was basically a blush and two highlighters that had zero pigmentation on the skin =/
I love the bronzer so at least I discovered a new favourite!

      • October 4, 2018 / 10:07 pm

Yes I watched your video!! That contour kit was so bizarre!! And I totally understand. Free is always good πŸ˜‹ And we can always use more things to review! Although it’s getting busier and busier with the holiday releases.

          October 5, 2018 / 12:21 am

I have such a backlog of products I’ve been meaning to review, all these holiday releases are getting crazy! I’m not planning on picking up too many more.

Great post as always! I recently made an order with Revolution (or whatever they’re called nowadays πŸ˜‹) and got a very similar mystery bag to yours! It really did have quite a lot of products!

Can’t wait to see what you do with the Emily Wants palette and the Soph Extra Spice palette as well (I also picked up those things with my order, too! Lol)

  6. October 4, 2018 / 3:48 am

I’m excited for your next Makeup Revolution video and to see the swatches of everything! You look cute with the blanket in the video πŸ™‚

haha thank you! Life is better with cozy blankets πŸ™‚ I filmed and eye swatch video with the emily palette a few days ago (I was sick so I look a little crazy). It should be up soon!

I’m not blown away by the Emily palettes, but I’m excited to see how they perform! I looooove the sophomore palette though, it looks so pretty. 😍

I agree, I’ve written my review for it so I just need to film my 3 looks, but I’m sadly underwhelmed by the emily palette. I should have used the 30 day rule and see if I wanted it then, after all the hype wore off I wished I had held off on buying it.
The Soph palette is gorgeous though, I’m 100% satisfied with that purchase!

the conceal and define concealer is amazing. I also like the dewy finish the makeup revolution fast base foundation gives,

It’s my favourite thing in this haul!

  11. October 2, 2018 / 10:54 am

So many amazing products! Makeup Revolution is becoming my favorite drugstore brand! But yes the different names is so confusing haha!

    • AlwaysCleia
      October 2, 2018 / 2:28 pm

I was shocked at how inexpensive their products are! I looked up some of the price points on the freebies I got and couldn’t believe they were that cheap. I don’t understand why they need so many names πŸ˜‚ Thank you for reading!

  12. October 2, 2018 / 9:19 am

Nice haul! I would love try Makeup Revolution! and btw, is the stick foundation more on the hydrating side? cause I really want to try it out but I have dry skin!!

    • AlwaysCleia
      October 13, 2018 / 8:51 pm

I’m sorry I missed your comment until now, it went to spam for some reason πŸ™
I don’t think that the stick itself is hydrating even though it has a dewy-ish finish. If I don’t moisturize and prep my skin properly it still emphasizes dryness!

      • October 14, 2018 / 10:02 am

aaah I see well thanks for telling me! I was gonna buy it!!

        • AlwaysCleia
          October 15, 2018 / 12:51 pm

You could always try a dewy primer underneath, I think that would make a difference. I’ve been using my Caudalie Grape Water all over my face before applying and the foundation blends out really nicely over top.
