It feels like forever and a day since I posted a mascara review! It’s been at least a season or two. Today I’m reviewing the Medusa’s Makeup Witch Lash Mascara. I received a full size bottle in last Spring’s Luxebox so I’ve had a while to try it out and see how I feel about it. Let me know how you feel about Medusa’s Makeup and if you’d like to see more of their products reviewed! ❤
Medusa’s Makeup Witch Lash Mascara
Review
Medusa’s Makeup is a vegan and cruelty free makeup brand based in Chicago. The brand is known for it’s subscription box and vibrantly coloured beauty products.
Witch Lash Mascara is a lengthening and volumizing mascara that retails online for $12USD and is available in three shades — Black Noir, Electric Blue, and Twilight. I am reviewing the shade Black Noir. The website states that the product is “Made in PRC”, or in other words, made in China. I’m not sure how a vegan and cruelty free brand justifies manufacturing in a country where all cosmetics MUST be tested on animals, but take that as you will.
Packaging
Medusa’s Makeup Witch Lash Mascara has simple packaging. The tube is black with a gold cap and lettering and the rubber wand is long and skinny with short bristles. The wand feels pretty flimsy to me and because it’s so long it bends when I’m trying to apply mascara to my top lashes.
What I Like
- Separates and thickens lashes
- Skinny wand makes it easy to coat base of lashes.
- No flaking
- Long lasting
What I Don’t Like
- Flimsy Wand. It’s hard to get the curl and volume I want because the wand bends so much during application. I feel like I’m going to break it.
- Not Water Resistant. I don’t need my mascaras to be waterproof, but I don’t like turning into a racoon when it rains!
- Vegan Brand Manufactures in China
Overall
I’ve enjoyed using Medusa’s Makeup Witch Lash Mascara. The formula does a good job of not flaking and dries quickly. I even like the way the bristles are designed on the wand to separate and lengthen, but because the wand is so flimsy I don’t get the curl I want. I need to use an eyelash curler whenever I apply the mascara because I can’t work the wand to give me enough volume. With a stiffer wand I would consider a repurchase, but as the packaging currently is I won’t be ordering a second bottle.

Trying to blog with Cats!
What qualities do you look for in a mascara?

The bristles look like they’d be good for lower lashes! I honestly always skip lower lashes because most brushes are too big for my small eyes and pitiful bottom lashes lol. That’s too bad about the wand being so flimsy! That would definitely be a no-go for me!
Haha my lower eyelashes are almost non-existent so I never thought to try it. But you’re right, I think it would be great for lower lashes! I swear I’ve almost broken the wand several times when putting it back in the tube, flimsy wands are the worst 😅
Haha so you know the struggle!!
I sure do xD It’s the worst!
ooo I like the before and after! I always look for volume in my mascara!
Yes volume is a must for me too! Thanks for reading ☺
Love the look of the wand on this, great post! x
I like the short bristles on the wand! Thanks for reading ❤

I always liked that brand
Good to know! I haven’t heard much about the brand tbh, aside from their subscription box.
