I had a gift card for Sephora in my wallet for a few months but I had a hard time deciding what to use it on until now. $50 doesn’t really go a long way at Sephora so I poured over all the value sets and lower cost items multiple times. It’s hard to decide when my wish list is giant, and I’d rather get a few things to try out than buy one expensive item. I’m always shocked when I read haul posts featuring several hundreds of dollars of makeup & skincare and I’m like, don’t you have bills to pay!? That’s why having a gift card is so lovely, I can take some money outside of the budget to treat myself. Here’s my Mini Sephora Haul:
First I chose the Sephora Collection Citrus Brush Cleaner. I usually clean my brushes with baby shampoo but I read a brush cleaning post from Mascara & Moshpits featuring this citrus cleanser and I wanted to try it out for myself! You can read her original post here. Plus it was $8, that’s like… one and a half coffees from Starbucks. I used it for a quick brush cleansing and it removed powder makeup well while also conditioning the bristles. Any brushes I used with cream products needed a few extra spritzes.
I also chose the Sephora Sparkle & Shine Classic Mini Multitasker Brush. My first set of makeup brushes was a cheap set from Amazon and one by one the tops have popped off the handles. I’m slowly replacing my brushes. This tiny brush is cute and great for travel. Even the packaging is adorable, the tube it came in had double walled plastic filled with starry sparkles! The bristles are more densely packed than I was expecting but I still like it.
Lastly I picked out the Becca Glow on the Go Highlighter Set which contains a travel sized pressed highlighter and liquid highlighter in the shade Opal. If you follow me on instagram you’ve probably seen me post about them, they’re absolutely stunning!
Deluxe & Foil Samples
The Deluxe Samples I received were a Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Camouflage Concealer mini and a Lancôme Visionnaire Eye Cream mini. I chose the lightest shade available for the concealer and it’s still about five shades too dark for my skin. I’ll probably gift it to a friend.
My foil samples were the Hourglass Ambient Light Correcting Primer (which I used in my “no-makeup” makeup post here), the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Eye Cream, & a NuFace Prep-N-Glow Cloth.
I’m happy with my little haul but I’m also kind of sad my gift card is empty now. I love the feeling of having gift cards in my wallet, it’s nice to treat your self every once in a while to something you wouldn’t normally pick out for yourself!!
