In the beauty community it’s easy to get carried away. On instagram I tend to showcase looks that are elevated from everyday wear. The colourful cut creases and full makeup with lashes you see on instagram are a far cry from what I look like in real life.
Now that I’m working full time I just don’t have the energy for a full face some days. I steal moments for myself between work, errands, caring for two cats and maintaining a home and these days it feels like they’re few & far between.
I’ve been taking time for myself to drink my coffee slowly, to read a few pages of a book and to play my guitar, which means I’m spending 20 minutes or less on my makeup in the morning.
My everyday face is quick. I often still wear foundation, but always a liquid form that doesn’t take too much blending. Cream foundations take so much time and effort to look good so I haven’t been bothering with them.
Above are some of the products that I’ve been using a fair amount over the past few months. I actually finished the ColourPop No Filter Foundation & BFF Eyeliner recently, but they’re the products I used in the looks I’ll share below.
Front & centre in my makeup routine right now are the Essence Melted Chrome Shadows. These are seriously amazing! They look so wet & shimmery without any sparkle and they’re great on their own or paired with transition shadows. I’m specifically loving the shade Ironic.
I’m also obsessed with the ColourPop Lip Crayons right now. They’re comfortable, have great color payoff and they smell fantastic. You really can’t go wrong! Anyways, here are two looks that I’ve worn on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays… you get the picture.
How do you do your makeup on a weekday?
Thanks for reading! This post is short & sweet because I’ve been getting ready for vacation. When you’re reading this I’ll be in Thailand assuming our flights aren’t delayed or anything like that. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. See you on the flipside.
