Hello beauties! It’s September, omg which means that it’s time for a new season of Lipstick recommendations. I’ve been loving the lipsticks that I recommended for Summer but now that we’re preparing for Fall I’ve been feeling warm, orange & brown shades on my lips. I shopped my stash to bring you my top five Fall nude lipstick recommendations featuring cozy, wearable and seasonal appropriate shades. Let’s get started…
5 Amazing Nude Lipsticks For Fall
This Autumn I’m feeling lipsticks that lean more nude than Vampy. You can check out my How to Rock a Vampy Lipstick blog post from last Fall if you want to see some darker lipsticks in action, but today we’re keeping things on the neutral side. The shades I chose range from brown to orange and I feel like a variety of skin tones can pull off these shades.
#1 MAC Velvet Teddy
My ultimate Nude Lipstick for the Fall Season has got to be MAC Velvet Teddy. This lipstick is wearable year round but I especially find myself reaching for it to complement Fall makeup looks. Maybe that’s because I purchased it last Fall during my first trip to Ulta? I love this chestnut-rose shade on my lips any day of the year, but especailly during pumpkin spice SZN.
I think almost every beauty blogger out there has mentioned Velvet Teddy at least once, and let me tell you – it IS worth the hype!
Speaking of Pumpkin Spice..
#2 Too Faced Mini Melted Lipstick in Pumpkin Spice
I felt bad about putting two limited edition lipsticks on my list until I realized that the Too Faced Sweet Smell Of Christmas set is still available on Too Faced’s website Here. This was one of my favourite purchases last year and I reach for these lipsticks frequently.
Pumpkin Spice is one of my favourite Fall Lipstick shades for good reason. It’s maybe not technically a nude (?) but the orange isn’t in your face and I still find this shade very wearable for most days of the week. It’s especially pretty paired with an orangey eyeshadow palette like the Soph Extra Spice or ColourPop Brown Sugar palettes.
#3 Too Faced Mini Melted Lipstick in Hot Buttered Rum
This is the lipstick that I wear the most from that Too Faced Holiday Lipstick Set. Hot buttered rum is an orangey-brown nude and it goes so well with Fall makeup looks! I love wearing a neutral eye with my Double Entendre Palette and matching the orange & brown tones to this lipstick.
Hot buttered rum also smells like rum! Yum!
#4 e.l.f Beautifully Bare Lipstick in Touch of Nude
Now for my more affordable lipstick picks! I discovered this $5 e.l.f. cosmetics lipstick by a complete coincidence. When I purchased my Jkissa x elf palette I qualified for free shipping and a gift with purchase. You can check out all of my free goodies in that e.l.f. haul, but the product we’re talking about today is the Beautifully Bare Lipstick in the shade Touch of Nude.
This lipstick is so lovely! This nude brown gives me Fall vibes and doesn’t wash me out when I wear it. I gravitate towards browns this time of year and I love that the satin finish hydrates instead of drying my lips out.
Touch of Nude reminds me a little bit of Velvet teddy but I do find that Velvet Teddy has more rose in it. Both are gorgeous!
#5 ColourPop Lux Lipstick in LA Lady
I featured Flower SZN in my Summer lipstick recommendations, and I’m continuing the Lux Lipstick trend for Fall. To be honest Lux lipsticks aren’t my favourite lipstick formula, mainly because the formula seems to differ from shade to shade. For instance Flower SZN lasts all day while other shades I have like Mind Trick and LA lady aren’t nearly as long lasting.
LA lady is still frequently in my lipstick rotation. I’m guessing about 20% of the looks I’ve shared on my blog are paired with LA Lady. It’s one of those easy to wear your-lips-but-better shades. If the formula lasted a little longer it would be perfect.
What are your go to Fall Lipstick shades?
I’d love to hear if you have tried any of my Fall nude lipstick recommendations or which shades you would like to try. I hope you’re having a fabulous start to your September. Thanks for reading! x
