It’s finally time for another empties post! I didn’t post one for October because I’ve been away, and frankly I didn’t have much to post about. It seems I either use up a lot of products or I use hardly any at all. I’ve been in that in between stage for a while but I had enough to write a blog post about for November.

November 2017 Empties:
GlamGlow Dream Duo Deluxe Samples
I received a sample of GlamGlow Dream Serum & Dream Seal from the Sephora Favourites Beauty Sleep Set in October. Both smelled amazing! I’m over face products that smell weird, If I’m putting it on my face it had better smell good or have no smell at all. The Dream Serum applied easily with no tugging and absorbed immediately leaving my face feeling hydrated. The Dream Sealer had the same great smell but was thicker than the serum and tugged when I tried to rub it in. I had no dry patches on my face in the morning while using this combo. Repurchase? Not at the moment because it’s expensive compared to what I usually spend on skin care. I was very tempted to buy it during the Sephora Beauty Insider sale though.
The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream
I hauled this last December from The Body Shop. For a body wash the formula is incredible. It’s thick and extra hydrating and doesn’t strip my skin at all. It also smells fantastic, like my shower is a tropical island whenever I open the bottle!
Repurchase? I would be crazy not to!
Live Clean Face Cleanser
I bought this cleanser because I’ve liked Live Clean hair care products in the past. I like that they use mostly natural ingredients and are environmentally focused. That being said, I wasn’t a fan of this cleanser. It did the job and didn’t leave my face feeling super tight, but the pump was hard to use, (I needed two hands) and it doesn’t smell very nice. Repurchase? No.
Pur~Lisse Daily Lip Nourisher
This was an Ipsy Sample from October 2016. I realized I wasn’t a fan of the formula after trying it out for a few months. It sat on top of my lips instead of absorbing so I didn’t feel like my lips were especially “nourished” from extended use. Repurchase? No.
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Deluxe Sample
This sample came from the Long Live The Clean First Aid Beauty set at Sephora. I think I liked this, it applied nicely and absorbed into my skin quickly. Unfortunately I had dry patches all over my face when I tried it out due to sunburn and the climate of the Nazca desert in Peru so I’m not sure how it actually works for me. Repurchase? Yes, this merits a repurchase. I liked it enough despite my sunburn patches and I’d like to find out how it really works for my skin in my home climate.
Makeup & Hair
DDM Illuminate Lip Gloss
I received this lipgloss from Topbox in early 2016. It takes me forever to use up a full sized lip product so I’m rather proud of myself that I can feature it in an empties post! I adored the formula of this gloss, it’s the only lip gloss I’ve used that has no stickiness. The packaging is also BOMB, it has a mirror on the side for on the go touch ups, AND, I can’t believe I only noticed this a few months ago, but there’s a button on the lid which turns on a pink LED light that makes the whole tube glow! Repurchase? I’d like to once I’ve used up my other lip glosses (if that ever happens) but it appears to have been discontinued.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal
I’m a huge fan of this highlighter. This mini size lasted me six months of almost daily use. It applies and blends easily and gave me a gorgeous non-powdery glow. I prefer liquid highlighters because I have such dry skin. Powder highlights tend to look cakey on my skin. Repurchase? YES. In the shade Moonstone next time.
it Cosmetics No -Tug Waterproof Anti-Aging Gel Eyeliner
This was another Ipsy Sample. It really is water proof, I had a hard time getting it off my waterline whenever I used it. I couldn’t use it on my top lash line because there isn’t a real way to sharpen it so I’d get a thick smudgy line. I’m not great at using non liquid eyeliners. Repurchase? No, I prefer Liquid eyeliner.
Clairol Nice & Easy CC+ Colorseal for Radiant Reds
I’ve featured this product in my empties before. It comes in Clairol permanent hair dye kits. It smells nice, but I’m not convinced that it helps preserve my hair colour. Repurchase? Not right now, I have highlights at the moment so I probably won’t be doing a full red hair dye any time soon.
Avry Beauty Chamomile Gloves
I received two pairs of these hand masks in my Summer Luxebox. I had the strangest experience the first time I used them. My hands went numb and became very, very cold. It was kind of scary, I had to run them under water after application to warm them up. The serum did soften my hands, but the whole experience was weird. I used the second set of gloves recently and I didn’t experience the strange symptoms. Repurchase? NO. Strange reactions are weird. And the gloves smelled funny.
Dermal Aloe Collagen Mask
I’ve featured theseK Beauty Masks in my empties before. They refresh my skin, especially after a long day and they cost $1.03. What more can I ask? Repurchase? YEP.
MaskerAide Tell Me ‘Pout It Lip Mask
This product comes with a big lip shaped mask that I think was made of silicone and was drenched in serum. You put the mask over your lips and wait for 10-15 minutes. I couldn’t talk or move my lips at all, which was slightly inconvenient. I also had to tilt my head upwards the whole time or else the mask would fall off. After about 7-8 minutes my lips had a tingly feeling. After removing the mask my lips were slightly more plump, but I didn’t notice life changing results in terms of dryness. Repurchase? Maybe, If they were on sale.
Josie Maran Argan Milk Foil
I received a foil of Josie Maran Argan Milk serum from my last Sephora order. The serum contains argan oil and purified water to hydrate and nourish skin. It absorbed quickly and left my face hydrated even without a moisturizer on top. It’s rare for serums to leave my face feeling hydrated, so I liked this one. Repurchase? Not right now, the 1oz bottle of this serum is $70CAD! Eek!
GlamGlow Clearing Treatment Foil
My skin didn’t like the change in climate upon our return to Canada and I kept breaking out so I tried this clearing treatment. The smell was disappointing to me after trying other GlamGlow products. It smelled kind of like green tea to me. Maybe I’m crazy. One use didn’t drastically reduce the look of my breakout, but maybe more than one use would have given me better results. Repurchase? No, the full & travel sizes are too expensive for me to splurge on something that I’m not entirely convinced works for me.
