November Ipsy Glam Bag 2020

Alright everyone, this month I am on top of the November Ipsy Glam Bag! I was rather behind getting the October bag up but I resolved to get my November review up in the month I received it in. This bag was much better than the October Ipsy Glam Bag IMO, the curation suited my tastes a lot better and all the shades suited me — unlike last month’s brow gel!

If you haven’t heard of Ipsy before it’s a $12USD/month beauty subscription that promises 5+ deluxe and full sized beauty products a month.

November Ipsy Glam Bag Review 2020

The November Ipsy Glam Bag

I particularly love the colour block pattern on the glam bag itself this month. The only thing I would change is the pink Ipsy zipper, it would be cuter with just a plain metal tab. I dunno, maybe that’s just a me thing. Anyways, the bag is cute but I’m going to have to donate another to make room for it!

Ipsy really needs an opt out feature that saves a dollar on the bag, I just have way too many!

The theme this month is Be Present.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer mini

The Products

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

A mini Tarte Shape Tape Concealer was my item of choice for November and I’m excited about it! I’ve been hearing people rave about Tarte Shape Tape for years, but I’ve never tried it myself. It’s an Ulta exclusive so Sephora has never stocked it. And due to Covid 19 the Ulta expansion into Canada has been put on hold, or else scrapped entirely. The only other way to get Shape Tape where I love is to order directly from Tarte, as far as I know.

This concealer is supposed to be great for cut creases and high coverage concealing in general. It also contains shea butter, mango seed butter, and licorice root extract for hydrating and smoothing the skin. I’ve been wearing it for about a week now and I’m really impressed with it! I was expecting it to be extra thick and heavy, like my current full coverage Covergirl Trublend Concealer but it’s not thick at all. Yay!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Moisturizer Mini

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Moisturizer

I’m almost certain I’ve tried the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Moisturizer before, but I can’t remember when. I’m hoping that it will be deeply nourishing because winter is sucking all the moisture out of my skin.

The formula is definitely lightweight, and it has almost a silk-like quality to it. Brands often seem to think that dry skin types should be using ultra thick, heavy face creams but I personally can’t stand them! I prefer gel type formulas, or light silky lotions like this! So far I’m enjoying it, but we’ll see if my skin becomes drier or more hydrated with extended use.

Complex Culture Overtime Bronzer Ipsy November

Complex Culture Overtime Contour Powder

Ooooooh a Bronzer!! It calls itself a contour powder but it’s warm enough against my skin that I would rather use it as a bronzer. For me contour products need to be cool toned to have the sculpting effect most people want from them. This cruelty free & vegan brand is completely new to me. They don’t appear to have a lot of products on their website.

This is definitely a sample mini, but it’s still a good size. The packaging feels cheap, especially in comparison to the carton it came in. The outer packaging was this grey cardboard carton with silver writing, which felt super fancy to me but the inside is just cheap plastic. I’m sure that it was intentional since this is a sample size.

Anyways, I love the shade, it’s not too orange and should be good for warming up my skin in the winter!

November Ipsy Glam Bag, MOTD Makeup Brush

MOTD Cosmetics Perfect 10 Tapered Face Brush

Uhhh, ok Ipsy, I know I said I didn’t need any brushes but this brush is soooo soft! They were right, I love this! Even though my makeup brush collection is overflowing from it’s containers I still love a new fluffy face brush. One of these days I’ll have to go through and declutter old brushes I don’t need, but that day isn’t today.

This Tapered Face Brush from MOTD Cosmetics reminds me a lot of the Aesthetica brush I got from boxycharm in their Boxy Bash themed box back in May of 2018. I also featured the brush in a post about Holy Grail Products I discovered from Subscription Boxes, so you can imagine I’m thrilled to have a similar brush!

I love face brushes of this particular shape. You can use them for pretty much anything! Honestly I only use three or four face brushes. Don’t think that you need a million different brushes, you definitely don’t!

Kokie Cosmetics Soft Glow Highlighter

Kokie Soft Glow Highlighter Heavenly

Kokie Cosmetics Soft Glow Highlighter

This is my first Kokie Cosmetics product! I have seen the brand around on instagram and on subscription box review blogs, but this is my first opportunity to try the brand. This is my third highlighter from Ipsy this year, and I love them all! Last month I got the Pure Nude highlighter from Ipsy, and in the June Glam Bag I got a gorgeous highlighter from Ofra. Keep em’ coming Ipsy, keep em’ coming.

This highlighter gives you a soft, diffused golden glow that I think is stunning. It doesn’t grab onto texture and can be layered or applied wet to build intensity. I’m a fan!

Ipsy Glam Bag November 2020

What did you get in your November Ipsy Glam Bag?

My Ipsy bag for November feels very sophisticated this month. I love that all these products go well together, sometimes the curation feels very random. My products are all centred around glowy flawless skin and I’m loving it!

Sounds like you had an amazing bag this month! I had a full size of the Tarte Shape Tape years ago, and it could cover up my life! Wow, so much coverage! But it wasn’t as drying as I expected it to be, which was great.

It covers everything!! I don’t wear foundation anymore, unless I’m taking blog pictures. But in my daily life it has all the coverage I need. And you’re right, it’s not nearly as drying as I thought it would be!

It’s iconic for a reason, and a lot of brands have tried to copy it (and some successfully). I’ve heard some people say that the ELF Camo Concealer is a knock-off, although I haven’t tried that one to know myself.

I’ll have to give that one a try, I think it’s sold in stores here so that’s much more accessible. Thanks!

It’s for sure on my list to try as well. My mom really liked the hydrating version.

I remember looking at ipsy bags and not being impressed with them. Like I loved some of the bags, but was disappointed by the deluxe samples they sent. This bag is really great! It had so many great brands and products. I’m so glad to hear that you love the shape tape! Great post πŸ™‚ xx

Sometimes they have the tiniest samples! Lately they let you pick one item for your bag, so you’ll know at least one thing is in there you’ll like. So that’s nice!
      Thanks for reading!

Plenty of goodness in this bag by the looks of it! The face moisturiser sounds good, I hope it works how you want it to πŸ™‚ That highlighter is beautiful and the brush sounds lovely – I agree that you don’t need a ton of brushes, a few key ones that you reach for regularly are better in the long run. Glad you’re enjoying the Shape Tape concealer, was it that or the Shape Tape foundation that caused controversy for the shade range or something like that? x

    • December 2, 2020 / 10:02 am

The texture is so lovely!! 😍 I might need to pick this one up eventually.
I didn’t even know there was a shape tape controversy!! 😲 I’m so behind on beauty news

      • December 2, 2020 / 4:14 pm

Is it drying at all? You’re fine, I don’t know much beauty drama either πŸ˜‚

        • December 19, 2020 / 8:54 pm

Not really to be honest! I usually like to blend it with my finger or a brush under my eyes, it gets a little Cakey for some reason if I use a wet sponge :S but other than that it doesn’t feel dry.
