Happy New Years Eve Beauties! What are you plans for ringing in the new year? My husband & I are going over to a friends place for hot pot dinner and champagne at midnight. We’re so excited! I absolutely wanted to step up my makeup for the evening with some glitzy gold eyeshadow. I’ve been wanting to use the shade Top Story from the Emily Noel The Wants Palette ever since I picked it up. What better time to use it than New Years Eve? For my last blog post of 2018 I have a Gold NYE Glam Makeup Tutorial.

I used two palettes to create this eyeshadow look: The Emily the Wants palette & the Too Faced Peachy Mattes palette. If you don’t have either or both palettes you can make do with a few neutral transition shades, a gold shimmer/metallic shadow and a shimmery brown shadow. This look doesn’t require any cut crease skills, it’s really simple! For my face makeup I used mainly the Becca Prime Set & Glow kit that I overviewed on my blog last week. It contains a primer, highlighter, under eye corrector and a bronzer.
Step #1: Prime & Set the eyes. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and the shade Peach Meringue From the Peachy Matte Palette to set my primer.
Step #2: Fluff your first transition shade into the crease with your choice of blending brush. I used the shade Peach Tea from the Peachy Matte Palette. Any warm toned brown will do! I made sure to keep the edges blended out nicely by using the lightest shade in the PM palette to blend out any harsh lines.
Step #3: Take a small tapered blending brush (I personally like the Morphe M506) and place the shade Peach Tart or any dark warm toned brown into the outer V of your eyelids. Next you’ll place it in the inner corners of your eyes to create the illusion of a cut crease when you place your gold shimmer. Use the darkest shade from the Too Faced palette to deepen the outer corners of your eyes.
Step #4: Place the shade Top Story from The Wants Palette all over the eyelid. All. Over. You want this NYE Glam makeup look to sparkle! For the lower lash line I used the shade Capricorn which is also from The Wants Palette.
Step #5: Finish with your preferred style of eyeliner, lashes & mascara!
Easy Peasy! The eyes came out more of a bronzed looking gold but I’m living for it. I used all the products in the Becca makeup set I linked above and for blush I used the shade Laugh Cry from The Wants Palette! The lashes that I’m wearing are the Ardell 110 Natural Lashes.
