Another month has come and gone. I am totally not ready for the onslaught of Christmas decorations that I’ve seen at every department store and online retailer I’ve visited in the past three weeks. We just hop right along from one thing to another don’t we? Sephora already has tons of “holiday” releases, which I take with a grain of salt because they started in AUGUST this year. Good grief!
I want to take a moment to appreciate all things Fall that I have been loving before we completely forget that Fall even happened. Mother nature already has! Let’s talk October Beauty & Lifestyle Favourites!
I’m starting with lifestyle favourites because I feel like my lifestyle-y choices actually do change between summer and fall. For one I’m drinking a lot of Pumpkin Spice Lattes… and I’ve pulled out my Pumpkin Chai Tea from David’s Tea! Tis the season for everything pumpkin.
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
I heard about this book from a girl at work and made a mental note to read it a few months ago. When I heard that the movie came out I decided that I should get on that… My brother in-law drew my name for Thanksgiving-Christmas (we did holidays early because everyone is out of town at the end of December) and this was one of the books he gifted to me. I devoured this book, the lifestyles of the crazy rich were horrifying and yet fascinating to me! There was so much family drama and politics, I couldn’t put the book down. I will admit that most of the characters don’t have any dimension but the culture shock of this book kept me reading.
Bath & Body Works Caramel Apple Candle
I thought the Pumpkin Pecan Waffles candle was the best thing I ever smelled until I picked this one up. It reminds me of making caramel dipped apples when I was a teenager, this scent is mouth watering. Now I’m craving apples!
I started watching the new Mindy Kaling TV show Champions with my husband, it’s pretty good! I liked the Mindy Project so I wanted to give this show a chance. It’s about a man who runs a gym with his brother and the problems that arise when his estranged 15(ish) year old son comes to live with him. I don’t think it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen but we both laughed a lot.
Some of my current beauty favorites are products that I’ve featured before, for example I am still very much loving the Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching serum that I repurchased in my Fall Sephora Haul. To avoid sounding like a broken record, let’s instead talk about some products that are new to me!
Too Faced Holiday Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks
I’m in love with my Christmas Melted Matte lipsticks! The Sweet Smell of Christmas Set is considered a holiday release BUT there’s a pumpkin spice lipstick in there so one could argue that it’s a Fall release… Technically it was! My favourite lipsticks in the set are the Pumpkin Spice and Hot Buttered Rum lipsticks. I’m also really liking the new Too Faced Gingerbread Girl Melted Matte lipstick which I’ve reviewed here!
Soph Extra Spice Eyeshadow Palette
I love this MUR palette! The mattes are so pigmented for what you pay. The Extra Spice Palette retails for $15USD and the oranges and yellows are amazing. I also love that it comes with lots of pretty plummy shades, and a bright metallic silver. The colour story is totally up my alley this season. You can find my review + 3 Makeup looks with the Extra Spice Palette Here!
I’m still loving my KL Polishes. It’s one of the best creme formulas that I have ever used, the polish goes on so smoothly and the bottle hasn’t thickened at all. My favourite shades right now are November and Point Zero. It may be Fall so you’d think I would be about more autumnal colours on my nails but I really love nude polish! These two shades are cozy and go with any outfit.
Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Hand Soap
I picked up some of the B&BW aromatherapy line for the first time and I’m so glad I did! I have the Eucalyptus stress relief hand soap and it has the most relaxing scent! I know that these hand soaps are rather expensive compared to what you can find at the supermarket but they make my home feel cozier to me so I don’t mind the extra cost.
What were you loving in October?
Thank you for reading! I’m bringing back monthly favourites as an experiment for the rest of the year and I’ll see how it goes. I hope you guys enjoyed reading about my October Beauty & Lifestyle Favourites, let me know what you’re loving lately xx
