Okay, somehow it’s the middle of November and I haven’t shared my October Ipsy Glam Bag! How does that happen? To be honest I’ve just been really, really busy. And burned out, and feeling the best and worst of 2020 at the same time. But better late than never right?
If you haven’t heard of Ipsy before it’s a $12USD/month beauty subscription that promises 5+ deluxe and full sized beauty products a month.

The October Ipsy Glam Bag
I like the bag for this month, but nothing can beat the Halloween themed bat & lipstick bag they sent a few years ago! Do you guys remember that one?
This is a bag that I will probably be donating since I’m past the point of needing new makeup bags after being a subscriber for so long. What do you use your glam bag for? I have some for holding hair elastics, travel toiletries, lipsticks, and even one for my contact lenses!
I’ve already had someone ask me how this primer is on instagram, but unfortunately I don’t really have the target skin type for this product. Especially now that we’re heading into winter oil control is the last thing on my mind.
The good things I’ve noticed is that it smooths out my skin and doesn’t pill under makeup. But a lot of primers are like this, so I don’t really know if it’s worth it or not.
Smashbox retails this primer in Canada for $50 and when I saw that I thought Oh Hell no! There are primers that do way more for my skin for less than that! For example I quite like the Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer and the Becca First Light Primer is my go to.
I was hoping for a liquid eyeliner in my glam bag, but I got gel instead.. I still have two Pixi gel liners to go through before I get to this one, so hopefully the gel doesn’t dry up while I’m waiting! It’s very creamy and ultra black, so I’m hoping it will be a good one.
This retails for $22USD, so it’s not a bad addition value-wise.
This was my choice item for the month of October. It’s been a while since I tried a new foundation type product and I actually really like this for days I want a little bit of coverage but I don’t want the heaviness of a foundation. It is light coverage though, so it doesn’t give a lot.
After my awful experience with the ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer I was pretty sure I was done with these types of products, but Tarte proved me wrong. Would I spend the money on the full size? No, but I’m enjoying this sample while it lasts.
Benefits Gimme Brow gel is already a product I reach for often in my collection so I was looking forward to having a travel size. However, I have oddly dark eyebrows for a natural blonde, and Ipsy sent me a very blonde shade of Gimme Brow. It looks really weird and doesn’t blend in with the natural color of my eyebrows at all. It’s too bad, because this is one of my favourite brow gels! I remember people telling me that the Essence Make Me Brow gel was a dupe, but the spoolie on it was so scratchy! No thank you!
This was the least expensive product in the October Glam Bag, but also my favourite! I love highlighters, they’re totally my jam. I find this shade 010 Popping Champagne very similar to the Too Faced Satin Sheets Highlighter, which was in the Natural Face Palette and also Chocolate Bon Bons palette as an eyeshadow.
It has a gold sheen that is oh so pretty!
What did you get in your October Ipsy Glam Bag?
The October glam bag wasn’t the best glam bag I’ve ever received but it definitely wasn’t the worst either! My November bag has already shipped at it looks great, I’m excited to share it with you when it arrives.
