Pan Before Peru! Pt. 1

Back in the spring I posted my first project pan on the blog. Over the course of three months I detailed my progress in “hitting pan” on a handful of products I was wanting to finish. Some I used up, others I didn’t. I was nice to focus on using what I had instead of looking for new things to try, and it helped me spend more time on certain products instead of constantly switching it up. As many of you know, I’m going on a month long vacation to Peru in October (It’s getting close!) so I decided to write a Pan Before Peru series to help me get me ready to go!

Project Pan - Pan before Peru

TreSemme Perfectly (Un)done Sea Salt Spray & Wave Creation Sea Foam
These both came from the Unilever boxes Topbox sent out last fall. They aren’t my favorite styling products which is probably why they’ve lasted so long in my cupboard, but they aren’t bad so I just need a little push to use them.

Cake Beauty The ‘Do Gooder Dry Shampoo
I received this dry shampoo in my Summer luxe box! There isn’t much left so this should go quick if I set my mind to it.

Project Pan - Pan before Peru

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Wash
Satsuma is one of my favourites for Summer, but I have a box full of Fall & winter scents so I’d love to finish this before summer ends.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
This isn’t my favourite moisturizer to use. It’s a thicker than I’d like and since discovering gel moisturizers last winter I haven’t been reaching for it much. I have about 1/4 of a bottle left so I don’t have far to go.

Aromance Mandarin Orange Citrus Blossom Body Spray
You might recall this from my Spring Project pan xD It’s taken me a long time to get the bottle down as far as it is, and I think with a few spritzes each day I can finish this before I leave.

fresh Rose Face Mask
This is from last year’s Sephora birthday gift. I don’t really notice much of a difference using this tbh, but I still want to use it up. I have probably two or three uses left.

Project Pan - Pan before Peru

Ciate Bamboo Bronzer & Arbonne Bronzer
think this is about halfway there. It’s really hard to tell with powdered products sometimes. It’s tiny, so I’m pretty sure I can at least hit pan. I don’t expect to finish my Arbonne Bronser, but I would like to expand on the little dip at the bottom of the pan! I think I can double it.

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara & Benefit They’re Real Eyelash Primer
I’ve enjoyed using the Benefit mascara on it’s own for a light & feathery summer look, but it kind of fell flat for me as an eyeshadow primer. I also wasn’t too impressed with the Full Exposure mascara, but I’m forcing myself to use both up before I open another mascara.

Pixi by Petra Rose Gold Blush + Highlight Duo
This was also from my Spring project pan! And, I finally did it and made a huge dip in the bottom of the blush side. I now want to expand that to the highlight.

Nyx Micro Brow Pencil
I am SO close on this pencil!! I wound out the tip to take a look and I have literally a centimeter left of product inside it.

Neiges by Lise Watier Perfume Sample
I have had this for SO LONG! It might even date back to the end of high school. I sure hope not! I’ve been using it daily for a week now.

Becca Liquid Highlight mini in Opal
I’m pretty close to empty with this highlight. I love this highlight, and would like to purchase it full size before I go, but not before I finish it.

Project Pan - Sephora Sunbleached Filter Palette

Project Pan - Sephora Sunbleached Filter Palette

Sephora Sunbleached Filter Eyeshadow Palette
I don’t necessarily expect to finish this palette, but I would like to hit pan on three or four more shades before I go!

Urban Decay Primer Potion
I have a full size of Primer Potion ready to go, I just need to get the last few drops of product out of my deluxe mini!

Elizabeth Mott Color is Bae Lipstick
I really do love this lipstick! It’s a tiny tube though and I know I’m close to running out so I thought why not try and finish it and clear some room in my lipstick bag?

e.l.f. exfoliating balm
I need to keep reminding myself to use lip scrubs. I think if I use this every day or second day I can get through this tube in a month. Fingers crossed!

Good luck on your project! You still have some time before October, so hopefully you can finish up these products before then. Also a month long trip to Peru is so exciting!! I did that back in 2014 and it was such an amazing trip!! Are you going to Machu Picchu??

Thanks Angela! Most of the products are half full or less so I think it’s doable We’re going to Peru with a tour company and are going to see Machu Picchu, the Amazon rain forest, and the desert! I’m so excited for an adventure!

A month long trip to Peru?! That sounds amazing! I’m sure you will have a fantastic time!

Good luck with finishing up these products! I’m sure you can accomplish at least half! I’m in the middle of using up some of these products too including TBS Satsuma body gel (the best smell in the world!), Fresh rose face mask, The Ordinary cream, and the Pixi blush. I’m impressed with your dip in the blush! I’ve been avoiding using mine lately because I don’t want to ever run out, I love it so much!!

I’m so excited! Mike and I haven’t gone anywhere since our honeymoon in 2014, and with him going to school for three years a vacation was overdue! I need to brush up on my Spanish this month haha

Thanks, good luck to you too! I think I can as well, I’m not holding my breath on the powder products but I think I can finish the liquids and creams. I love satsuma so much! I have this thing where I’ll rotate shower gels pretty much every day, and I end up with a shelf full of almost finished products and no space so I’m trying to commit to just one scent right now xD

I’ve been using the Pixi blush pretty much every day this spring & summer. I really didn’t like it when I first got it, but it grew on me! It’s so glowy and yet subtle at the same time 🙂

Well it sounds like a trip of a lifetime! I hope you share some pictures on your blog! Will you be going to Machu Picchu? I can only imagine how awe inspiring it would be in person!

I am trying to stop doing that also! I always have more than one product on the go. My boyfriend says I have way too much stuff in the shower haha. Apparently I don’t need 4 face washes and 3 sets of shampoo/conditioner at once?! That’s what he thinks anyway. XD

When I first tried the Pixi blush, I was like “where’s the pigment?!” Cuz it is soooo subtle! But buildable also which is great for me! Pigmented blushes and I aren’t a great match. No matter how hard I try to use a light hand, I still end up looking like a ragdoll lol.

        • August 25, 2017 / 5:56 pm

I will! I’m planning on posting a little travel series for November when we get back, I’m going to have so much to share!! We’re going to Machu Picchu, as well as spending 2 days in an amazon rainforest jungle lodge (I’m not sure what that will be like, there’s apparently no power or running water!), and going to the desert for sand boarding!

lol! My husband says the same things. He’s like why do you get three corners of the bathtub for your stuff and I only get one!? They just don’t understand!

Subtle is honestly the best blush. It’s so much more natural looking! I don’t remember if you got the same Manna Kadar paradise blush as me from ipsy a few months ago, but it’s so pigmented I can only really wear it as an eyeshadow.

          • August 26, 2017 / 4:41 pm

That will be exciting to read (and even more exciting to experience firsthand haha)!!

I didn’t get that Manna Kadar blush but I remember thinking it looked really pretty. It did look super pigmented! Girls who can apply those blushes are amazing haha. I wish I could figure it out!

          • August 27, 2017 / 2:13 pm

I hope so! Fingers crossed. My husband keeps telling me horror stories about how you can die if you step on Caterpillars in Peru O_O.

Me too! I think it’s a lot harder when you’re paler skinned. If I had a medium skin tone it would be so much easier!

          • August 27, 2017 / 8:36 pm

Eek don’t step on caterpillars! lol

Oh true, that makes sense! I have paler skin too!

Good luck with these, I find it really hard to finish up the products but it always feels amazing when you actually do it. xx

    • August 23, 2017 / 12:40 pm

It’s really hard sometimes, especially if it’s a product that I’m not exactly thrilled with. Luckily most of the products here I have at least partially used so I don’t have as far to go! Thanks for reading =)
