I finally hopped on the Physician’s formula train! After literally years of you guys telling me to try the PF Butter Bronzer I treated myself to some new drugstore products, including the Weylie Hoang face palette, which was created in collaboration with Physician’s Formula.
From the moment I first opened this palette I knew I loved it. The smell alone was enough to remind me of a tropical vacation, which was desperately needed during this time of physical distancing. It smells. so. good.
Let me know if you’ve tried Physician’s Formula, I’ve heard from a lot of you that the butter bronzers are a fan fav!
Weylie x Physician’s Formula Palette Review
The Weylie Hoang Palette from Physician’s Formula retails for $24.99CAD, but I was lucky enough to get it on sale for $16.99. It was definitely worth it at that price, as a single bronzer $21.99 when it’s not on sale. Score!
The face palette contains two butter bronzers, two butter blushes and two butter highlighters. I was very skeptical of the highlighters at first, since my experience with the shimmers in the PF Sulty Nights Palette was awful. Thankfully I didn’t need to worry, the texture is swoon worthy!
I love the green leafy design on the face palette. It doesn’t exactly say “tropical” but the combination of the packaging and smell brings me to that conclusion. The palette is cardboard and features a magnetic closure, which is generally my favourite type of packaging.
The inside of the palette has a picture of Weylie as well as a personal message from her. I hadn’t actually heard of her before this collaboration, but I have since subscribed to her channel!
Each butter bronzer/blush/highlighter has a raised design in the pan to add a bit of texture to the packaging. I think it’s beautiful.
As a fair skinned girl I was worried that bronzers would be too dark for me. I watched a few reviews of the Weylie Haong face palette before buying it to make sure that the shades would work for me. One of the reviews pointed out was that although these bronzers have the same names as some of the Physician’s Formula murumuru butter bronzer singles the shades in the palette are actually different.
This turned out to be a good thing for me, because these are technically supposed to be some of the darker Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer shades but they turned out to be shades I could work with.
The Deep Bronzer shade isn’t actually disastrously dark on me. I wear it more than the Sunset Bronzer which is a tad warmer.
The blush shade Wildflower is similar to Pink Sand from the Too Faced Natural Face Palette but it’s a shade that I reach for all the time so I don’t mind too much. Apricot gives me life! When I bought the Jouer Adore Blush Duo I realized that blush isn’t really something that I get excited about. I’m pretty meh about blush, but this Apricot shade has become the exception to the rule. It’s just so darn bright & pretty!
The Physician’s Formula Butter Highlighters are truly beautiful. Whimsical is a stunning pink & gold highlighter, and Golden Hour is a warm bronzed gold.
Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I’ve never tried the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzers before! They’re every bit as wonderful as you guys have been telling me. The formula is ultra creamy & blendable while still being a powder. It makes a lot of my other bronzers look bad to tell you the truth.
The butter blushes are the same delicious formula as the butter bronzers. The best way I can think to describe them is… buttery? Go figure right? I do get quite a bit of kickup from my brush, which just comes from using such a pigmented & soft formula.
I was blown away by the butter highlighters. I was anticipating a dry, crumbly formula, just like the shimmers in the Sultry Nights Butter Eyeshadow Palette. It turns out that I couldn’t have been more wrong, and thank goodness for that! Each highlighter is extra creamy and feels wet to the touch. They give me a stunning wet-looking glow! If the ColourPop Super Shock Highlighters had a baby with the Essence Melted Chrome Eyeshadows I think the closest thing would be the Physician’s Formula Butter Highlighter formula.
- Very Pigmented
- Extra Buttery & easy to blend!
- Good Value for your $$ compared to buying singles
- High impact shimmers/highlighters
- Some kick-up in the pan.
- The shade range isn’t universal — For fair skin use a light hand.
Have you tried Physician’s Formula
and did you pick the Weylie Hoang palette?
I love this face palette even if it isn’t really suited for my skin tone. I use a light hand and the powders go a long way. The apricot blush is my absolute favourite blush ever! I hope you enjoyed this review, if you did please comment & subscribe 💕
