Recent Empties: Stuff I’ve finished

It’s finally time to talk about my empties! I’ve been doing empties posts on a bi-monthly basis because that’s usually how long it takes me to collect enough empty products to make a post. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to get this photographed and written for the start of the month. These empties are all from August and September. My little box of empties is overflowing so I can’t wait to give you some mini reviews!

Makeup Empties

Maybelline Fit Me Hydrate + Smooth Foundation

Full Review Here. I liked this foundation the more that I used it. I wasn’t initially wowed by it but as time went on I grew to like it more. My face looks so naturally radiant when I wear this foundation, and it’s only around $10 at the drugstore! I will absolutely be repurchasing once I whittle down my foundation stash.

Urban Decay Primer Potion

I finally finished this travel size of the UD primer potion a year and a half after purchasing it. These primers last a long time. They also make my eyeshadow last a long time which is why I will be repurchasing.

Recent Makeup Empties

The Beauty Crop Glamazon Highlighter Stick

My review of this highlighter stick can be found here. It’s not a bad product but I prefer powder highlighters. It’s a great shade for pale skin though.

Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm lip gloss

This lipgloss came in the 2017 January Ipsy Bag! Wow it took me a long time to finish this gloss. It wasn’t sticky at all and was very comfortable to wear but it had an awful chemical smell. This gloss does not warrant a repurchase from me.

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment

This Fresh lip set came in the Fresh Sugar Lip Prep ‘N’ Paint Value Set. I really liked this lip treatment but it’s insanely expensive. The full size is over $30CAD so I won’t be repurchasing this lip treatment. I enjoyed getting it in the value set though!

Skincare Empties

The Body Shop Grapefruit Body Scrub

I included this scrub in my Spring & Summer Favourites blog post. I love this scrub, it makes my shower (and my body) smell like delicious grapefruit! The formula isn’t anything terribly special but it works and smells great. That’s all I need.

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

This post was included in my last Disappointing Products post. It smells waaaay too overpowering. It’s not a bad scent but for me it’s just too much. I don’t need to smell like this body cream 12 hours after applying.

Pixi By Petra Glow Tonic

This size is very tiny, and I still haven’t completely made up my mind of it yet. I have two more minis like this so once I’ve gone through the next two I should have a good idea of how this product actually affected my skin. So far so good though, I’ve had less breakouts since using this toner. I will update you guys on my final thoughts once I’ve finished my minis.

Recent Empties | Farmacy Green Clean - Lancome Bi-Facil

Farmacy Green Clean Balm

I really liked this cleansing balm. It’s very gentle on the skin and it did a great job of removing tough liquid lipsticks. It didn’t do so well at removing waterproof mascara but that’s where my next empty comes in…

Lancome Bi-Facil Waterproof Makeup Remover

This Makeup Remover is my HG. It’s so good for when I film swatch videos )like my recent Emily Edit The Wants Palette Eye Swatch Video) because it’s so gentle on the skin and does an amazing job of removing my makeup. My only issue is that Bi-Facil is very expensive, this bottle was around $40CAD and that’s too much for me to spend on a regular basis.

Recent Empties Olay Total Effects & Bioderma Hydrabio

Olay Total Effects Whip

I didn’t like this moisturizer for reasons that I outlined in my Olay Total Effects Whip Review. My dry skin needs more hydration!

Bioderma Hydrabio Gel Crème Moisturizer

This is one of the oldest skincare reviews on my blog that still gets views today. As I said in that original review this moisturizer is nice for summer/warmer times of the year but not hydrating enough for me during the cooler months.

Recent Empties Facial Mists | Mario Badescu & Caudalie

Mario Badescu Rose Facial Mist

I loved this facial mist when I first bought it. I even featured it in last winter’s Top 10 Winter Skin Savers post, but as time went on I realized that I actually didn’t like this as much as I thought it did. Sure it’s hydrating, but the rose smell started to drive me crazy! I think if I were to repurchase I would pick up the cucumber scent.

Caudalie Grape Water

I have already repurchased this product. This was also one of my Spring/Summer favourites for this year, the mist is hydrating and refreshing. It’s also only a few dollars more than the Mario Mist.

Recent Empties Facial Mists | L'Occitane & Algenist

L’Occitane Divine Oil

This mini didn’t do much for my skin. It’s supposed to have amazing anti-aging ingredients but I only found that it smelled unpleasant. I much prefer Josie Maran Argan Oil.

Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen

I’ve heard amazing things about this serum but this deluxe sample bottle I redeemed in my Sephora Appreciation Sale Haul was way too small to see a noticeable difference in my skin. The dropper didn’t pick up the product properly so I couldn’t get all of the serum out. I would love to try this again but the full size bottle is $115CAD so that won’t be happening anytime soon.

I used to love this foundation but it has been discontinued here in the UK which is such a shame! I love the primer potion as well, even though I think it’s a bit expensive for an eyeshadow primer. Great post!

Oh no I wonder why? It’s such a good foundation!
At least the primer potion lasts a long time, this travel size lasted me over a year so I don’t mind spending more. But I need to experiment with priming with concealer, that might save me some money! Thanks for reading!

That’s a great amount of empties nicely done!! The maybelline fit me foundation was my very first liquid foundation (I had never used foundation up until 3 or so years ago, maybe less). Anyway i liked it too but then i noticed it didn’t really match my skin tone which was my own fault and when I repurchased the right shade I had decided I wanted to buy CF only, so I ended up giving it to my husbands mom lol.
Anyway, I feel the same way about the bum bum cream, the scent was much too strong and I have a sensitive nose so I didn’t like it as much but I do love that it does make my skin feel soft.

Having the wrong shade is the worst! I wish there was a better shade selection on the fit me foundation. The shade I had was a pretty good match but I need more of a yellow undertone than a pink one, which not a lot of brands are doing :S
The formula of the bum bum cream is great! I’m sorry you didn’t like it either. That scent is so strong

      • October 23, 2018 / 10:13 pm

Omg I had the same problem! They were too pink for my skin tone, and I’ve noticed that with concealers too, they barely have any with yellow undertones..

It’s so annoying! Colourpop at least has yellow undertones in a lot of their shades. I’m waiting for a non matte version of their foundations and concealers though

          • October 24, 2018 / 1:28 am

I *almost* bought a foundation from Colourpop but I didn’t want to get the wrong shade. I do have one of their concealers which still isn’t a perfect match but it’s pretty good though a bit thick and kind of matte too. I didn’t realize their foundations were matte, I hadn’t looked into them at all.

Great post, you finished some good stuff in the last two years!

Funny that you found the Green Clean cleansing balm doesn’t take off your waterproof mascara, but that the Lancôme Bi-Facil does – I found it to be the opposite! I know the Lancôme is a huge cult favourite but it’s never worked out for me.

I also wish I liked the Fresh lip balms, because the packaging is seriously so beautiful. I found for me that there are better lip balms for a much lower price!

That’s so weird, we’re completely opposite on those two products lol! I’m glad that the green clean worked out better for you than it did for me.
The Fresh lip treatments are nice but they’re so expensive! Definitely not worth it to spend the money when drugstore balms work just as well.
      Thanks for reading!

i love the pixie glow tonic. i have the jumbo size of it 🙂 i do think you have to use it for a prolonged period of time to notice a difference though

Probably, I have two more minis so I’m hoping I’ll see a difference soon! Glad you love the glow tonic!

  5. October 17, 2018 / 10:24 am

Great post! I love hearing about how products work for people. I kept thinking about buying the Bum Bum cream, but I just couldn’t justify the price, but every time I went to Sephora I smelled it to see if I actually loved it and I still don’t know!

  6. October 17, 2018 / 8:51 am

I’m sorry to hear that the rose spray smell drove you crazy for a while. I would definitely recommend the cucumber or lavender one instead. They both also extremely hydrating. Love these posts xxx

I loved it when I first got it but after three months of using it the smell started getting to me. I’m generally not a rose person so I’m sure I’d like the other scents!
