It’s hot out, the sun is shinning and I’ve been sipping Mojitos on my patio the past few weeks. It always feels like the hot months go by way to fast and winter drags on forever. I need to spend more time outside before it starts getting chilly again! I put favourites on hold these past few months because I wasn’t really using anything different in my makeup/skincare routines aside from a few new palettes. But it will soon be Fall, so let’s talk Spring & Summer Favourites!
Makeup & Skincare
Too Faced Natural Face Palette
There was a lot of controversy surrounding the rebranded Too Faced Natural Beauty collection when Too Faced repackaged their old natural eyes palettes and some bronzers, blushes etc. The Natural Face Palette was a new addition to Too Faced’s makeup collection and I adore it. I have a full detailed review Here and there’s also a first impressions video on my youtube channel where I tried out most of the shades. I can’t get over how stunning the Starlight highlighter is!
Wet N Wild Saving Base Coat
I picked this base coat up in my well.ca haul for under $5CAD. I feel like I’ve had less nail breakage since I started using it. Even when I don’t have nail polish on my nails I like to use it on it’s own so my nails have a healthy looking shine. My polish has lasted significantly longer since switching from Julep to Wet N Wild.
Kiehls Midnight Recovery Eye Cream
I love this eye cream! I don’t know why I waited so long to try it out. Well actually, I do. It’s expensive at $48CAD so I was buying drugstore alternatives but this cream is so worth the price! It’s very hydrating and minimizes my fine lines almost instantly, I actually notice a difference when using this. Of course I have to continue using it to keep seeing the effect, it’s not magic. My dark circles are lessened while using this cream and I notices a slight reduction of dark circles.
Caudalie Grape Water
I wasn’t sure if this would count as Makeup or Skincare. On one hand it can be used as a makeup setting spray, but on the other it makes a fabulous skin refresher when it’s hot out. I picked up this mist in a Caudalie value set with the SOS Vinosource Thirst Quenching Serum. I was pleasantly surprised. The mist dispenser sprays the perfect refreshing mist. It feels amazing during or after a workout and it leaves my skin looking dewy when used as a setting spray. It’s actually pretty affordable too, the 6oz size is $24CAD at Sephora.
Goddess Garden Sport Mineral SPF Lotion
I used this sunscreen daily in Panama & Costa Rica and I didn’t burn at all aside from one spot on my chest that I forgot to reapply sunscreen too. This is a mineral sunscreen so it instantly blocks UV rays instead of needing a 30 minute activation period like most chemical sunscreens. It’s also reef safe so I could swim in the ocean carefree and not worry about all the ocean life I would have been poisoning with a chemical sunscreen.
This SPF does leave a little bit of a white cast, but I was on vacation so I didn’t really care.
Bath & Body
The Body Shop Grapefruit Body Scrub
I finally got around to trying out The Body Shop’s body scrubs. This grapefruit one is heavenly! It only has a four star rating on TBS and people are saying it isn’t anything special but I personally love it. After using a scrub from B&BW that I didn’t realize was Petroleum based until after I bought it this scrub is heaven. It’s so fragrant, it fills up my shower with delicious long lasting grapefruit.
The Body Shop Mango Body Butter
I finished up my strawberry body butter in my Spring Project pan, and though I enjoy the formula the Strawberry one isn’t my favourite scent. The mango body butter is everything, it smells so delicious! I’m reaching for it ten times more than I ever did for the strawberry body butter.

The Air Awakens Series by Elise Kova
This series caught me off guard when I was on Vacation. It didn’t have a lot of Amazon reviews but I tried it and was instantly hooked. I couldn’t put it down, I instantly bought each subsequent book in the series as I finished them. I read all five books in about two weeks. This series made me realize why I wanted to start writing again, I was so in love with the characters and the story.
The series is about Vhalla, a library apprentice who discovers that she has “awakened” as the first Air mage in over 100 years when she unknowlingly uses her magic to save the life of the crown prince. Through accepting her place in the Mage’s Tower she winds up drafted into the army to fight in a war that she doesn’t agree with that she is certain is a death sentence. If you are into fantastical magic systems and new worlds with a generous sprinkle of romance this is the series for you.

Old Navy Yellow Dress
I originally bought the dress above in a Navy print but I exchanged it for the yellow. I wear so many dark colours that it’s nice to change it up and wear something bright! When I went to Panama I wore this dress and it was perfect!

Thanks Rossy!
I love this dress. I’m a little sad that it’s getting cooler here now, I probably won’t wear it again until next spring. You have to try the body butters, they’re so good!
Great faves! I’m still working on mine haha.
But that yellow dress is perfect for summer. And I still want to try TBS body scrubs and body butters.
I’ve never tried any Khiel’s products yet but that eye cream sounds amazing! I’m yet to try the body butter from the body shop but I’ve heard so many good reviews about it, I’m definitely going to try them! I love the yellow dress, it’s so pretty. Great post as always x

It’s such a nice eye cream! A little bit expensive but that tube has lasted a while so I think it’s worth it. I hope you love the body butter!
Thank you for reading! xx
I need to try that eye cream! I’ve heard Kathleen rave about for so long, I have super bad under eyes and I try pretty much everything!

She’s the first person I heard rave about it, Polished & Inspired also recommended it to me a while back and I’m glad I picked it up!
I love that Kiehls is at sephora now so I can get points on my purchases 🙂
I’ve been becoming more and more of a fan of Kiehl’s products! I think their products are magical and really work on my skin. I loved reading about your favorites Cleia, great post 🙂 xxx

PS: idk why your website won’t let me comment from my wordpress account?

I’ve only tried the eye cream so far, I’m happy the brand is at Sephora now so i’s easier to try more products! Do you have any favourites?
What, that’s so weird! I will have to check if my last update did something weird, when I view my site it seems to register my wordpress account. I will look into it. Thanks Melina!
The yellow dress is so pretty! I’m the opposite from you, I prefer the strawberry scent to the mango 😛 That Too Faced palette looks so gorgeous 🙂

I love it, it wasn’t expensive either!
Good thing they have so many scents to choose from, there’s something for everyone 🙂
I love the new Too Faced packaging, they’re doing such a good job with their releases lately. Thanks for reading Chanelle! xx
I need that eye cream!! As always, I am searching for THE ONE! It’s currently sold out on Sephora, but maybe it will come back in stock for the sale? Here’s hoping!
The mango body butter from the body shop is my favourite one, aside from the coconut. I’m actually currently working on my pumpkin one again from last year! The smell is soooooo good 🙂
Also, I definitely tried on that dress at old navy! It was cute, but it didn’t quite work for me. I think that dress in yellow would look great on you!

I think they haven’t got stock of it yet because they’re introducing the brand to their store, I noticed that Sephora does that a lot when they get new value sets and stuff. It’s so annoying! I hope they get it in stock before the sale too!
Ooo this is the perfect time of start bringing out pumpkin scents! Fall is just around the corner…
It’s one of my favourite summer dresses now, I’ve worn it so much this summer. Sorry it didn’t work for you too! Thanks for reading 🙂
Yes, you’re right! It’s in stock now!
The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery is such a good one! While I find most eye creams are finicky – they’re either good for only summer or winter, or daytime or nighttime, this one is good for all seasons, any time of the day. I’m currently using a foil packet of the C Tango Eye Cream from Drunk Elephant and I’m loving it, which is so unfortunate because the full size is $78!
I’ve actually never used a TBS body scrub before, but they look lovely! The B&BW ones seem to get the job done for me just fine. Is there a reason why you don’t like that they’re petroleum based? I never noticed that they are, or if all of them are.
I’ve heard so many people rave about the Caudalie Grape Water! I love the idea of face sprays but I find that I always forget to use them, haha.

I will definitely be repurchasing when it runs out! I’m so glad that Sephora Canada is starting to stock Kiehls now so I can get points on my purchases!
Oh no, I hate when that happens! But if you love it maybe you can pick up the full size on sale in the upcoming VIB sale? It’s still pretty expensive but it would save you a little bit..
This is my first scrub from TBS, I understand that they have sugar scrubs as well, I’ll have to try those out too! I just didn’t like the petroleum based ones from B&BW because they felt really greasy to me. I bought a pumpkin one last fall and I never use it because I need to use like three handfuls of body wash to get rid of the greasy feeling. I’m not sure if all their scrubs are like that or just the limited edition one I bought :S
I’ve been keeping my mists somewhere prominent by my makeup or in the bathroom so I remember to use them haha. If I stash them away I forget too! Thanks for reading/commenting 🙂
