Stocking Stuffers for the Beauty Lover | Gifts under $50

Now that we’re nearing the start of December it’s time to start talking Holiday Gift Guides. Today’s post is specifically a Stocking Stuffers for the Beauty Lover in your life gift guide! Many of us have expensive palettes and skincare products on our wish lists this year, but when shopping for stocking stuffers I think most people prefer to keep the budget low. Leave the expensive gifts for under the tree! Not everyone shares the same budget so I kept my stocking stuffer guide for the beauty lover in your life under $50 CAD, and broke down by price my top recommendations.

Also, each and every one of my suggestions are products that I personally love, or have had read extremely positive reviews of. I won’t recommend anything that I wouldn’t personally purchase with my own money.

Stocking Stuffers for the Beauty Lover Under $10

Stocking Stuffers for the Beauty Lover
Under $10

It’s hard to find gifts under $10 these days, especially when you’re dealing with beauty products. To keep your beauty stocking stuffers under $10 I highly recommend checking out the beauty section of your local drugstore, or checking out travel sizes of your favourite beauty brands. Drugstore doesn’t mean bad quality. I’ve found so many great products at the drugstore, you don’t need to sacrifice quality for price. Here’s my top 5 recommendations for Stocking Stuffers Under $10.

The Body Shop Travel Size Body Butters

I have YET to meet someone who doesn’t like The Body Shop’s body butters. It’s one of the most hydrating and luxurious feeling body care products that I’ve personally tried and I swear by it during the drier months of the year. The Body Shop often has promotions where you can buy 3 minis for around $12, while one mini usually retails for around $6CAD. Budget friendly and useful! My favourites so far are the Mango and Satsuma Body Butters.

Sephora Lipstories Lipsticks

The Sephora Lipstories Lipstick sets are really cute. I picked up the shade Brunch Date in my April Sephora VIB Haul and I wore it all summer. Each lipstick has a different design on the packaging and the come in cream & matte finishes. These are some of the least expensive lipsticks you can buy at Sephora for only $10CAD.

Another great option is the ColourPop Lux Lipsticks if you live in the US and can pick one up at Ulta, but if you have to order directly from ColourPop you may incur shipping and customs charges.

Essence Makeup

Essence is soo affordable and the quality is actually really decent for the price. My favourites are their Make Me Brow Gel which retails for around $5CAD depending on where you shop and the Essence Superfine Waterproof Eyeliner Pen. The eyeliner pen retails for around $3.99 which is an absolute steal! I’ve read rave reviews on their Pure Nude Highlighters and Gel Nail Polishes as well.

Wet N Wild Rosé In The Air Colour Icon Palette

Wet N Wild Color Icon Palettes

These eyeshadow palettes are seriously SO GOOD! I reviewed the Rosé In The Air palette here and I was floored by what amazing quality these 10 pan palettes had for around $7CAD. There are so many colour stories to choose from too, so if you’re shopping for someone who is just learning to wear makeup, you could get him/her the Nude Awakening Palette or one of the other options for the colour aficionado.

Wet N Wild also has Color Icon Quads which are even cheaper. I haven’t tried the formula of the quads personally but they have great reviews and if they’re anything like the 10 pan palettes I think your beauty lover will love them.

Makeup Sponges

These are a necessity in my makeup collection. Since switching to a sponge my makeup game has been totally changed. You don’t need to rush out and buy a $26 Beauty Blender (though that’s an awesome gift), there are tons of affordable beauty sponges for blending concealer and foundation on the market. Real Techniques has a makeup sponge for under $10 and it’s very good. Sephora also has a few makeup sponge value sets for sale this holiday season.

Little Mac Lipsticks

If a full sized mac lipstick is a bit of a splurge for you consider picking up one of the MAC mini lipsticks! You can buy these for $12CAD at Sephora and $10USD at Ulta. While they have less product than a full size many of us rarely finish a full sized lipstick within a reasonable time frame. I also recommend a mini bottle of fix + which you can buy at Sephora and MAC.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

The main reason why I have never picked this up is because of the price. It’s around $24CAD at most drugstores but sometimes it’s marked down to around $15. This bronzer is one of the most highly raved about drugstore products that I know of. It’s scented like a tropical vacation and supposed to be buttery and smooth.

Tarte Tartelette Tease Palette Review

Tartelette Tease Palette

I talk about this palette all the time, and for good reason. My mom gave me this palette for christmas two years ago and I use it all the time, it’s my perfect cool toned palette for everyday eyeshadow looks. The formula is good, the shades are wearable and the pop of gold shimmer keeps it interesting. I reviewed this two years ago Here and posted a recently makeup look with it Here. The Tartelette Tease Palette is currently $25CAD.

L’Occitane Hand Cream Delights

L’Occitane has little hand cream sets available at Sephora for $20CAD. I love L’Occitane hand creams, they’re luxurious and extra moisturizing. A value set like this is great to break up into individual stocking stuffers or to give whole. This set contains a cherry blossom (my favourite), rose, almond and unscented hand cream.

Four Little Bites Amuse Bouche Bite Beauty Lipstick Set

Four Little Bites Amuse Bouche Lipstick Set

This Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick set is currently on sale for $17! Get it while you can. I recently tried Bite Beauty lipsticks through Sephora’s 2018 Birthday gift and my first thought was Why Didn’t I Try These Sooner? Mini lipsticks are great because who finishes a full sized one anyways? These would fit perfectly in your beauty lover’s purse or makeup bag and they also come with a cute storage tin.

Violet Voss Fun Sized Mini Eyeshadow Palettes

These $24CAD palettes are adorable! There are four color stories to choose from. Berry Burst is a berry toned palette with brown transition shades, Fruit Sorbet is a rainbow of color, Crème Brûlée is a neutral brown and orange toned palette and Le Macaron is a foiled colorful palette. I’m personally loving the look of the Fruit Sorbet and the Berry Burst Palettes.

Makeup Brushes

Makeup brushes come at a variety of different price points and so many brands make them. It can be overwhelming trying to choose sometimes. Just whatever you do, please don’t buy a generic brush set off of Amazon. Makeup brushes are one area where you want to pay for brand name quality, even if it’s a more affordable brand. My Amazon set fell apart in only a few washes and I regret that purchase with every fibre of my being.

BH Cosmetics make very affordable makeup brushes which I have heard are absolutely amazing for the price. I have the Eye Slay brush set from Morphe which isn’t bad for the price tag (reviewed Here) and you can find more of their sets at Ulta. Real Techniques also has a great brush sets which are budget friendly.

Too Faced Sweet Smell of Christmas Holiday Lipstick Set

Too Faced 2018 Holiday Collection

The Too Faced Holiday releases this year were actually SO GOOD! I haven’t tried all of them but the ones that I did pick up were absolutely wonderful. This collection absolutely needed to go in my Stocking Stuffers for the Beauty Lover gift guide! My first stocking stuffer recommendation from this collection are the Too Faced Sweet Smell of Christmas Set which retails for $32CAD and contains four mini melted liquid lipsticks in holiday themed scents and shades. I reviewed and swatched all four Here.

My next recommendation is the Too Faced Melted Gingerbread Girl Liquid Lipstick (which I also reviewed Here). This is a pricier recommendation at $25 for one lipstick but the shade is stunning. I don’t regret my purchase but if you would rather go for a value set I would go with the Sweet smell of Christmas set.

Lastly I recommend the Sugar Cookie Mini Eyeshadow Palette. I swatched it in store and the shades are so creamy! I think this would be great as an introduction to makeup or for someone who loves neutrals and pinks.

Laneige Kiss & Makeup Lip Mask Set

I was so mad when this sold out in the first round of the VIB Rouge sale at Sephora and then mysteriously disappeared from the website for weeks afterwards. It was the main thing I wanted to purchase for myself so I ended up only spending $20 on the sale. Luckily this set is back, but I don’t know for how long. Laneige lip masks are very highly rated and are supposed to be excellent for people with dry lips (aka me). This set comes with their original lip mask plus three other flavour varieties for $34CAD.

Becca Lip Icing Glow Gloss Kit

This lip gloss/ lip icing set is in collaboration with Chrissy Teigen. It looks so luxurious and all four shades are different enough from each other that I wouldn’t feel like I’m getting repeats of the same thing. This set retails for $35CAD and is christmas themed with the shade names Crème Brûlée, Cinnamon Bun, Sugar Plum and Candy Cane. All four sound like perfect stocking stuffers for the beauty lover in your life 🙂

I love all of your picks!! I agree that mini palettes and lip sets are so fun to give and especially to receive. Mini palettes aren’t always something that you would buy yourself because you might have your sights set on larger palettes or more popular ones, but I think most people would be glad to receive a mini!

  2. December 11, 2018 / 11:10 pm

These are all really great gift ideas. Not many in my family are into makeup and if they are, they kind of already have established their own little collection. Lol. I love that you’ve included both drugstore and high end brands as well as a bit of skincare, that way there’s something for everyone

I don’t really have any makeup lovers to shop for either, I’m super into it but most of my family just use what they know works for them. I tried to keep the skincare recommendations limited to products that you wouldn’t need to know the person you’re buying for’s skin type. Because I honestly have no idea what any of my friends or families skin types are, is that awful? lol
      Thanks for reading!

      • December 13, 2018 / 12:01 am

Lol no not awful at all! I always say it’s best to gift products that will work for everyone so the fact that you don’t know their skin type is really no big deal. 😁

Oh good! I always assume that everyone has dry skin up here because of the climate lol

I have an “affordable beauty” gift guide coming out this week and I have a few of these items on my list, too! Personally I’d be happy getting any of these 🙂 That TF Smell of Christmas set has been tempting me since it came out, even though I know I shouldn’t get it because I rarely reach for my liquid lipsticks anymore…I just can’t resist scented makeup and cute packaging!

      December 12, 2018 / 3:07 am

I always prefer putting more affordable gifts on my list, then there’s not any pressure to get something expensive. It’s always frustrating when someone only asks for expensive things!
The lipsticks are so cute! I keep them at the front of my glass makeup box so I remember to use them. It’s been working so far, but if you won’t reach for them then it’s not worth it. I’m looking forward to reading your next gift guide!

      • December 12, 2018 / 10:07 am

I totally agree with putting a mix of smaller and bigger budget items on your list! If your gift-giver has a bigger budget to work with, then they can always buy two of your smaller items as the gift, but at least you’re giving people with a smaller budget something to work with.

  4. December 5, 2018 / 1:11 pm

What a great list! These are really fantastic ideas, and I like that you started with options so affordable! I may have to ask my husband for a few of these. 😉 Thanks for finding these and sharing!!

  5. December 4, 2018 / 6:43 am

Such an amazing post! I love the brow gel from Essence as well, for the price it’s such a great product! I bought some mini Mac lipsticks as presents and for myself as well lol, considering the price it’s so worth it! xx

Anything from essence is incredibly affordable, I love that about them! And the brow gel is such an everyday essential. Enjoy your mini mac lipsticks!

  6. December 2, 2018 / 3:32 pm

Oh my gosh, thanks so much for sharing this, Cleia! 💓

I’ve been trying to figure out what to buy my cousins for Christmas this year (they can be picky sometimes lol!) Both of them love makeup, though. I think the tartelette tease palette or the set from Too Faced would be absolutely perfect!! Also love the idea of a makeup brush set! x

      December 3, 2018 / 10:02 pm

I’m so glad that my gift guide could help you out Nunzia, if they like cool toned eye shadow the Tartelette tease palette is perfect! If they wear more warm toned there’s also the Tartelette flirt palette, both are the same price 🙂
And I completely endorse the Too Faced Holiday sets this year, they’re great.
      Thanks for reading!

  7. December 1, 2018 / 11:05 am

Great recommendations! My favorite is definitely the Tartelette mini palettes. Recommend it to everyone who wants to try a new palette 🙂

    • AlwaysCleia
      December 1, 2018 / 1:59 pm

They’re so great! I love that the value is proportional to the size, so many brands overprice their minis but the Tartelette Tease is literally half the shadows for half the price of the full palettes.

  8. December 1, 2018 / 9:23 am

There are so many great options on here and honestly I would happy to get every single one of them <3 That Amuse Bouche set especially would be something I would love as every single shade is one I could see myself wearing

I’m glad to hear it! The lipstick shades do look very wearable, I think a lot of people would get use out of them. Thanks for reading!

You’re missing out! They have THE most affordable drugstore makeup that applies and wears like something higher end. I thought it was makeup for kids at first but after trying it it’s actually pretty good!
Laneige has such great sets! I hope you love yours. Thanks for reading! xx

I wish NZ stores of The Body Shop had deals as good as the American and British ones seem too, ours still have sales but one of the small body butters at full price is $15 NZD – I love their products anyway but can’t beat a bargain! I wish Essence was more readily available here, I think we have it but no stores near me so I can’t go and swatch products 🙁 I have always enjoyed the look of the Tartelette Tease palette 🙂

    • AlwaysCleia
      December 1, 2018 / 1:53 pm

WHAT $15 for the little ones? That’s expensive! I guess it costs more to import it but still..
Aww that sucks, hopefully an essence counter will pop up near you soon.
The tartelette tease palette is great! So underrated. Thanks for reading!

      • December 1, 2018 / 3:45 pm

Some brands/products are overpriced but that’s what happens when you live in a smaller part of the world. I buy quite a bit of makeup online because even with shipping it can still work out cheaper than buying in store here 😛 I’d love to try something from Tarte one day!

  11. November 30, 2018 / 4:46 pm

    Great choices!
