Summer Beauty Wishlist 2019

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I shared a wishlist. Or a haul. Or anything that isn’t a review! I’m changing things up this week with a  Summer Beauty Wishlist for 2019. There have been so many releases lately that I’ve been wistfully adding and removing from my shopping cart and I’d love to take five minutes to share them with you. If you want to see what’s on my 2019 Summer Beauty Wishlist keep reading!

Summer Beauty Wishlist

Makeup

I don’t have any skincare on my Summer Beauty wish list for once, just makeup & haircare! I’ve finally settled into a Summer skincare routine that ‘s working for me and I don’t really want to change it too much right now after how horrible winter was on my skin. My makeup routine is ever changing though which is reflected by this list:

Fenty Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer

This bronzer is everywhere! Unfortunately prices just raised across the board for beauty products. Most brands went up at Sephora & Ulta in Canada by at least $2 per product. That may not sound like much but it adds up! The Fenty Sun Stalk’r Bronzer went from $38 to $40 and that slight difference makes it sound so much more expensive. I should have grabbed it sooner!

Sun Stalk’r comes in eight shades that should suit a variety of skin tones. I’m currently eyeing the shades Inda Sun and Shady Biz, I think that either would work well for my skin tone. Do I need a new bronzer? No. This may just remain something I covet from my wishlist page. Though I’m nearing the end of my Sunny Honey Bronzer from the Too Faced Natural Face Palette so maybe I can justify it…

Benefit Cosmetics Browmazing Deal Set

Even though I think you can get insta worthy brows from brow products at the drugstore the Precisely My Brow Pencil is hands down the best brow pencil I’ve ever used. My problem is the price. I just can’t justify splurging on a brow pencil!

The brow kits that Benefit Cosmetics released recently have me turning my head though, The Browmazing Deal set contains a full sized precisely My Brow AND a full sized Goof Proof Pencil for far less than you would pay to buy both individually. I decided to pass for now though and picked up the ColourPop Precision Brow Pencil for only $5. My wallet is much happier with that price.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Power Duo Brow Kit

Speaking of brows I have NEVER tried the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil. I feel like everyone used this pencil in 2016 when I started blogging, but I rarely hear anyone talk about it now. This kit comes with the Brow Wiz pencil and the new Brow Wiz Gel. I have two brow gels on the go right now but I would love to try this brow set one day!

Becca Champagne Creme Glow Gloss

I just discovered the Becca Cosmetics Glow Glosses and I’m obsessed! They became my holy grail gloss so fast and I never want to try another gloss. The next glow gloss on my list is the Champagne Creme glow gloss which was released as a limited edition addition to the Becca Champagne Pop line.

ABH Shimmer Oil

Body Oils are something that I pretty much know I’ll never reach for… but that doesn’t stop me from staring dreamy-eyed at the ABH Shimmer Oil Product Page. I’ve also been eyeing the new Patrick Ta Body Oils but the ABH one is less of an investment. Kathleen Lights recommended this oil and said that it’s not as glittery as others she’s used so I’m onboard. Sign me up!

Natasha Denona Sunrise Eyeshadow Palette

Do I even need to explain why I want this palette? Look how gorgeous it is! These tones are just calling my name this summer. I love the orange & yellow summer vibes, it reminds me of oranges and drinking mai tais on the beach! Which I’ll be doing in December, so I might as well look like a Mai Tai too.

This palette is still an investment at $85 but it’s much cheaper than other Natasha Denona palettes. The ND Sunrise Palette contains less product than her other palettes but I’m honestly fine with that. It takes me forever to pan an eyeshadow!

I still haven’t hit pan on my Mini Lila Palette so I think I’ll be good with a smaller palette.

Hair

Since I went platinum blonde I’ve realized that my haircare routine has to change. With red/brunette hair all I had to worry about was using a shampoo for colour treated hair but I’m realizing that platinum blonde is a whole other story. Even with a purple shampoo I started noticing brassiness about a week after my salon visit so now I’m in the process of figuring out how to neutralize those yellow tones.

Amika Supernova Blonde Violet Moisture and Shine Cream

I always do this thing where I draft my wishlists ahead of time and then end up buying some of the products. Last week I received my Amika Supernova Blonde Violet Moisture and Shine Cream in the mail. From now on we will just call this “Supernova Blonde” because that name is much too long to type again.

I was loving my platinum blonde hair for the first week. Then the Brassiness came. It was so upsetting! I honestly thought that yellow blonde hair was created by a stylist who didn’t know what they were doing. I assumed that my platinum silver locks would be there to stay, but here I am with yellow hair and it’s bad. My ends are also extra dry so a moisture cream that also adds purple pigment sounded great.

I’m hoping Supernova Blonde will help return my hair to it’s former glory!

IGK Mixed Feelings Blonde Brightening Drops

IGK Mixed Feelings Blonde Toning Drops

This is another product I’m considering picking up for my hair if the Amika Cream doesn’t help. I have a lot of shampoo left over from when I was an Elle Canada Grand Prix Juror and I don’t want it to all go to waste just because my hair is platinum now. These drops can be added to any shampoo or styling product to help lighten and neutralize brassiness. It has pretty good reviews too!

Bumble & Bumble Surf Styling Leave In

Bumble & Bumble Surf Styling Leave In

Beach waves here I come. This Bumble & Bumble Surf Styling cream is currently at the top of my Sephora Loves List. I love the idea of effortless beachy waves and this sounds like such an easy product to acheive them with. Now that I’m blond again for some reason I am all about curling my hair and acheiving beachy perfection. I think that part of it is because the bleaching process damaged my hair enough that it actually holds curls super well now, unlike before where they’d fall out in a few hours.

What’s on your Summer Beauty Wishlist?

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products, I’d love to know which ones are worth my money. I hope you’re having a fabulous start to summer, enjoy it and let’s talk soon x

I’ve been wanting to try the fenty bronzer for a wihle, but the fact of the matter is that I don’t go through bronzer as fast as other products, and I don’t really want to feel super wasteful as of late? I don’t know if that makes sense. I still actually use my ABH brow wiz. It’s probably my most repurchased product ever. I’ve gone through at least 4-6 of them in varying shades! I think they’re perfectly creamy, perfectly pigmented, and creates the most beautiful light lines that can come off as hairs! I guess I don’t mention it, because it’s nothing stand out to write about in terms of all the new products coming out, but actually it’s my favorite brow product ever!
Another thing I got for my birthday was the ABH shimmer oil, and I love it! It’s not that oily, which I like, it’s like glitter in a bottle. You spray once on each shoulder and spread it all over your chest and the rest of your arms! I love it. Really makes it seem like your glowing! Perfect for the summer!
I actually went to the hair salon recently and got a blowout using those IGK products. I remember really liking that one but I never used any of their blonde products, because i found out about them after I dyed my hair dark. Let me know your thoughts on it! Great post xxx

No I totally get that! I’ve been throwing up my hands lately at how long it takes me to pan blushes & bronzers so I can’t really justify it right now either. I’m hoping I can at least hit pan on a few things soon!
I love hearing about those tried & true products, even if they aren’t something brand new. There’s a reason those products are still loved by so many people. I’m happy to hear that you love the brow wiz!
That sounds so perfect! I’m starting to doubt that we will really have a Summer here, it’s been overcast and rainy for 3 weeks straight. But if the sun ever does come out I might just pick it up!
I don’t think I’ve ever tried anything from IGK but I’ve wanted to ever since they came to Sephora! If I do end up trying them I’ll let you know!

Makeup getting more expensive? Oh no… that sucks…
The ND sunrise palette looks pretty cool, but man the price tag on that big one. I mean even the small ones are pricey lol
And I’m not very familiar with blonde hair and yellow tones etc. But I’m sorry that that’s happening to you. Hopefully you can find the perfect product to keep your hair platinum. I wish I could remember what product it was that everyone was using for that exact same reason and everyone said it worked. I just cant remember the name šŸ˜• sorry!

I know it kills me! I guess I need to keep my shopping in check now.
I don’t think that I’ll end up picking up the ND palette, $85 is still so expensive šŸ™

That’s okay! I’ve settled into a routine that seems to be working for me right now thankfully! But I went from zero hair product to having to use product every day. It’s a little annoying but I’m glad my hair isn’t yellow anymore.

It’s hard with so many releases.. *sigh* lol
That’s true, I don’t think I can justify spending so much for a palette as good as the formulas is LOL
Oh well that’s good that you’ve found one that helped! šŸ™‚

        • July 5, 2019 / 11:51 pm

I’ve decided to do a no buy july with some encouragement from instagram so I’m just trying to ignore all the new releases right now haha
Yes absolutely. I have the ND mini lila palette and even the $30 killed me given how tiny it is. I could have bought 2 Colourpop palettes with that money!

          • July 7, 2019 / 8:08 pm

Oh yay! Well good luck with that! šŸ™‚
True that, some stuff is such so expensive!

The Fenty bronzers are amazing quality, I can personally vouch for that!

I wish they weren’t so expensive! I want to try them so bad

      • June 26, 2019 / 9:53 pm

Iā€™m sure you can snatch one up in an upcoming Sephora sale!

Makeup has gotten MORE expensive? Hell no. Hard pass.

  5. June 24, 2019 / 5:02 pm

I’m with you about not changing my skincare for now since it’s good and keeping my skin at bay! My skin started off well this year but during and when I came back from holiday, it seemed to have taken months to get my skin back on track and looking its best (I had a bad breakout).

I feel the exact same way about the Benefit Precisely My Brow! Love the product but can’t justify paying that much for a brow product. When I purchased and used it, it was Ā£18 but I believe it went up to Ā£20 shortly after. This was a few years ago so I dread to think how much it is now as everything seems to be going up in price!

    • June 26, 2019 / 2:15 pm

Break outs are the worst! My skin has been such a roller coaster this year, I hope it stays good for a long while now lol

It’s such an expensive product!! I feel like I can get the same results from a drugstore pencil (even though those are getting expensive too). Thanks for reading!

      • June 27, 2019 / 5:02 am

Out of curiosity, I checked how much it currently costs…Ā£21.50! It’s safe to say that I’m never going to buy it ever again unless it came in a bargain gift set or something.

        • June 27, 2019 / 12:58 pm

yikes! Yeah that isn’t cheap, it’s not worth it!
