Summer Sephora Anti-Haul!

Hey guys, On Monday I posted my latest Sephora haul, and I thought it would be fun to follow up with an Anti-Haul! I’ve been seeing these everywhere and I find it intriguing to hear what people have decided not to buy despite the hype. Here’s mine!

Tom Ford

Tom Ford

This brand came to Sephora Canada recently, and I’ve heard only good things about it, so If you love this brand I am not dissing you in any way. But for me, a married 24 year old on a single income (my husband went back to school), I can’t afford this brand. Foundation & Eyeshadow Quads are over $100, Lip Balms are around $40, and there is a bronzer over $130CAD! There are lots of great brands that aren’t this expensive, so I’ll stick with them. On that note…

La Mer

I noticed this brand on Sephora Canada yesterday, and my first glance at the price points was enough to make me faint. I don’t know much about this brand, but I do know that there is no way that I would spend over $110 on a moisturizer, or up to $430 on a Serum, I don’t care how good it might be! Good Grief!!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette

This palette is beautiful but I’ve heard too many mixed feelings on the quality. It’s apparently incredibly hard to work with depending on your skill level. Personally, if I was going to splurge on an ABH palette it would be the Modern Renaissance. The colour scheme appeals to me more than the Subculture palette, and I haven’t read a bad review on it.

ABH Glow Kit

Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Glow Kit

I honestly would have no clue what to do with the blue and purple highlighters included in the palette! Also with my dry skin I have discovered that I prefer liquid highlights to powder, they blend so much better for me.

HUDA Liquid Matte Lipsticks

Huda Liquid Matte Lipstick

Honestly I was kind of underwhelmed by the swatch videos I watched when Huda became a super big deal in the beauty world. I don’t know why but I can’t seem to get excited about these liquid lipsticks. There are a few brands I would choose over Huda to start with. I’m not saying never, I’m saying not right now.

Do you love any of these products and what you are anti-hauling this Summer!?

Just to clarify, I’m not saying that any of these products are bad, I’m saying they may not be for me because of price points or personal preferences in what kind of makeup I like to use (powder vs liquid vs cream, etc). *All Images in this post are courtesy of

I completely agree about the La mer price point. Like what could possibly be in there? I refuse to pay for their products. Thank you for sharing your antihaul!

I’ve definitely considered trying the Huda Liquid Lipsticks! I have the same thoughts about the ABH eyeshadow palette and the ABH glow kit. Not sure how i would use either really. Also, I’ve nominated you for the mystery blogger award on my page if you’d like to check it out! xx

I know a couple people who swear by the Huda lipsticks, so they definitely aren’t bad! I just feel like I’d rather spend my money on a palette I know is good instead of one with so many mixed feelings. Thank you so much for the nomination, I’ll check out your post ☺ I’m kind of bad at getting to writing awards posts, so please don’t feel bad if I don’t write one right away!!
